I just survived a lynch by the skin of my teeth. If you're going to try to claim that civ-Fuzz shouldn't be nervous there then you can go ahead and stop right now.

Nervous is not the same as shoving discrediting words in someone else's mouth. You've associated a dumb mindset with me. I'm displeased.RadicalFuzz wrote:I just survived a lynch by the skin of my teeth. If you're going to try to claim that civ-Fuzz shouldn't be nervous there then you can go ahead and stop right now.

Re: [NIGHT 9] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)
I feel better about choutas knowing that he can place the first vote on someone who isn't scum; less likely he bussed people, but worse because he lynched town.

I'm surprised 3J had nothing to say about my Bullzeye post / vote, given that he gave him a grade D in the MacDougall / Bullzeye analysis.

That D2 LC lynch train still being nowhere close to revealing its true colours is really unnerving.

Re: [DAY 9] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)
I reviewed your case on Bullzeye, Epi. I think you raise good points, particularly Bullzeye's awkward piggybacking of my Day 2 (?) beef with Golden. It's inconsistent with his prior stated civ read on Golden, and it also makes no sense for him to have the same mindset about Golden that I had when my mindset was completely based on my own interaction with Golden. Bullzeye can't exist inside my head.
It'd be groovy if anyone else who knows anything about Bullzeye's style could confirm/refute this:

because his tame treatment of Mac's accusations was something that I found curious as well.Epignosis wrote:Now this is something I want to emphasize: In my experience, when Bullzeye is called bad, his retorts can be caustic and nerve-wracking to the accuser. "Shoving discrediting words"
By definition the term inb4 means you haven't said it yet. As in, "in before some future action happens I am going to predict this future action."
If you have a problem with what I think you might do then address it. But don't pretend I claimed you did something you didn't.

You claimed I would say something that is logically stupid, which is a way of conveying to the rest of the thread that JJJ is stupid and says stupid things -- hence my concern that you've attempted to discredit me.RadicalFuzz wrote:"Shoving discrediting words"

I think I have to acknowledge that "????? killed Elohcin" might be actual evidence of an unseen anti-town faction, maybe recruitment-relevant or maybe not. I don't understand why a civilian killer would go after Elo, a consensus town read.
Unless it's somehow connected to the *secrets* in sig's role, but who knows.

Re: [NIGHT 9] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)
Chicken Chow Mein, Prawn Crackers, Salt and Pepper Ribs. Now I'm hungry.
I don't like that Epi avoided the action, but his case on Bull seems thought out enough that it's less likely to me that it was just an excuse to stay out of making a choice between the main guys.
I need to look at wilgy and rico, because I've had really mixed feelings about those guys, and read them scummily in the past. This result is brewing those feelings back up.
You're looking better and better.
I need to look at exactly what russ planned: I like that he was offering and pushing for an alternative to the sig wagon, but I need to look in depth to see where he was asking the votes to come from; if he was pushing it to try and save rad rather than sig I'll not be dishing out those townie points

This is the hiccup for me: even if bcornett was the only viable counterwagon for LC, by placing his vote on bcornett LC placed him in real lynch territory. If Brian is mafia, then LC would have bussed his team mate and exposed his own role in that wagon -- potentially causing the loss of two mafia instead of just one.Ricochet wrote:I feel this aspect is still open to interpretation, because:JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Rico, what do you think of this:

LC can't bus his team mate in Brian in this scenario, because players would still be able to identify that the Flowers role was involved in getting him lynched.
Does this not clear bcornett, or come pretty close to that?
a) LC's vote on b24 was his only lifeline left
b) except if Epig is bad, there was no genuine scumwagon on b24
If b) would be proven in any way thus far, then a) would sound like a logical move for LC to attempt, and b24 would be, as you say, closer to being cleared.
If I'm LC in that situation and the only viable counterwagon is my team mate, I might strongly consider voting off-wagons and sacrificing myself.
The final tally was 8-6 LC over bcornett. LC's vote made it 8-8 -- enough for a coin flip. LC's role was the only role that had enough power to even the tally at that point in the game save for Drugs (couldn't have been Drugs or Brian would be dead). Right. I was content to place that kill anywhere among the known roles, because fingersplints wasn't a consensus town read. At least not by my memory. Elohcin is a different story.Epignosis wrote:Oh?JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I think I have to acknowledge that "????? killed Elohcin" might be actual evidence of an unseen anti-town faction, maybe recruitment-relevant or maybe not. Wouldn't voting off-wagon make everyone wonder why you weren't saving yourself, essentially exposing the other wagon leader too?

Considering all of that, how much towniness can you even assign to brian?
Because to be honest I'm still leaning bad. Have you seen townie brian this game? I want to see it, trust me, but I'm not.

He has turned up a lot of inconclusive analyses for me -- I do think he has sounded genuine most of the time, it's just hard to tell when he's been in constant catch-up mode. I had him blue in my last rainbow because of that semi-clear idea, but I think you've dismantled that so he's probably a better fit in the orange or yellow zones.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Overall I think his anti-Floyd material appears genuine just because I see Brian as the sort to prod lurkers as a townie. It's a small point so I won't go crazy with it. The Day 8 vote isn't great though, so he should talk about that.
Am I willing to lynch this guy today? Ehhhhhh if there's a convincing case, but I'm not really feeling it.

I've seen townie brian. I know this is not the same as that brian, but sometimes we have to let damning (or saving) evidence trump any gutreads or other pursuits we have on a player.Diiny wrote:Considering all of that, how much towniness can you even assign to brian?

I think that is enough to clear brian, at least for the immediate future.

If bcornett got lynched, then ANY of his voters could be Flowers. You would not know it was LC.
What's better- potentially exposing yourself among a half a dozen people, or getting lynched and exposed?

What's better- potentially exposing yourself among half a dozen people at the loss of a team mate and as a standing suspect of numerous players, or getting lynched and exposed?
But, I think Diiny raised a sound point that LC voting for anyone but bcornett would have potentially had the same results -- perhaps even more dangerously so. So I'm no longer inclined to use this point in bcornett's favor.

The answer: all of them, if you are a marmot.

Flash was unconventional, but Bullzeye and I had a good back and forth (I was "bad", but I don't consider Flash a true Mafia game).

Last Man Standing was another unconventional one (again, not a true Mafia game), but:

My point in all this is that Bullzeye seemed perfectly fine with MacDougall calling him bad.
That's unlike him if he's a civilian, from my experience.

Well yeah. It's not a case. I'm talking about my...(New) Feelings. BAM! Talking Heads reference! Woo!Metalmarsh89 wrote:But I can't defend against any of this.Strawhenge wrote:Nah, I don't feel ignored. This game has been going on for almost a month. Neither is casing him (numerous times, since people kept asking me why), voting for him, encouraging other people to vote for him, or almost breaking the rules of the game. :/JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Keep talking to us about MM. Just understand that you dropping in, commanding a vote, and taking your leave is not an easy call to action to follow.
I don't know what else to say. I've given ample reason why I think he should be lynched, but people—Marsh chief among them, which is pingier than a ping pong tournament next to a whole row of radar equipment on a boat on Thailand's Ping River—keep asking me to case him, claiming I'm just voting for no reason. Double :/
To be fair, there's always doubt in every game. My RYM rating for him remains ½, but that's for him being anti-town. On specifically being the SK I'd say he's at ★, bordering on ★½. Choutas has given me more significant SK pings, but I'm almost certain that Marsh is not town.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:You said MM was either Life During Wartime or the SK. The former is dead and gone. Is MM the SK beyond any reasonable doubt?
Literally just some fucking guy.
