Once Upon A Time

"So everyone is here, even you know who?" asked Phoebe.
She already knew the answer she just wanted to get Nare stirred up.

"You KNOW that you know who is here! Are you cracking under the strain of your enormous hat? I am not sure if everyone is awake, we did have some late night arrivals as you well know. Those that aren't sleeping are in the great room." said Nare.
She just wanted to get on with it and hoped their plan would work. But she had looked into her crystal and it had shown there was trouble in the darkness.

Nare put her hat on and walked with Phoebe towards the great room.

"Welcome to our home everyone. As you are all aware Nare and I are quite neutral when it comes to matters of the kingdom but when you mess with magic you must deal with us" Phoebe's voice was cracking.

Nare spoke softly "We have come up with a plan to find who is after all of our powers. It's a game really. Play your part and we will find those that are responsible. You each have received a parchment from Ser Sockalicious. He is very good with parchments as I am sure some of you are well aware."
There were several fits of laughter at the expense or Ser Sockalicious.

"Today though all we need you to do is choose which Table to sit at. The Table of Love, the Table of Peace or the Table of Happiness" said Phoebe while staring at each person as if she could see right into their minds.

"Choose wisely for this is the last time we will speak until the guilty are found and dealt with" added Nare even more quietly than before.

They walked away slowly though it appeared to everyone else that they simply floated away then disappeared entirely.

"Once upon a time in a kingdom not far from here" Nare said while giggling.


You must each pick a table.
Each table must have a minimum of at least 5 people sitting at it.
If there is less than 5 at a table then that table will receive a boon.
The poll will last until everyone has checked in at which time Day 1 will commence.

Also happiness without peace is insanity, and happiness without love is hollow. You can't really have any of them in isolation.

I am considering Peace, though. Peace transcends the individual, and maybe if enough of us select Peace, it will spread out to us all

I doubt it. LOL. To "receive" a bane would be to receive death, no? bane and boon are quite different. I don't think our hosts would make such an error in speech.

Though, that happened under the watch of our old king, not sickly and incapable. As King Regent, I will steer my realm back towards peace, this being the first step.

This in indeed an unusual move for the Moonlit Krackens, once the terror of many a peaceful folks nights. Perhaps this is a sign of good things to come. I am happy to see such a diverse fellowship at the Table of Peace.

I am going to perhaps make a seating chart.

Oh! I LOVE seating charts! And table setting! Especially if I can use charger plates and make appropriately tasteful name tags of each guest to correspond with said seating chart. Oh! Oh! and I can teach you to make a rose out of a cloth napkin, but we need an iron and an ironing board because you have to press each crease in that fold in order to get the napkin to stay in that shape. (It is *very* intricate - I did it once for a table of 25 and it was exactly 15 napkins too many.)

This vote-changing thing could be veeeeery interesting. I think we'll need to keep a close eye on changes. It's possible baddies could vacate a table so a teammate or 2 get a boon, though I don't see any incentive for civs to change tables since each has at least 4.

Good observation Gobnait! This struck me as odd too. So there are seven roles unaccounted for. I know I am probably reaching, but I also counted six players saying "Yay game" in their first post. It does seem like a lot of people used that phrase, and the number of players doing so is close enough to the seemingly secret roles (maybe the last of them hasn't checked in yet). Maybe this was one of the things the hosts had them do? Who knows? It's probably just coincidence, but I thought it was interesting enough to mention.
