Re: Dune [Night 1]
I hate to do this, but I'm going to have to ask to be replaced. Right now RL is too crazy for me to handle 2 games of mafia, or even 1 for that matter. And as much as I normally enjoy this game, trying to play it right now is not enjoyable at all and is just adding more stress on my plate. So I apologize to everyone, but I think I'll be taking a long break from mafia until I truly get recharged and refreshed.

@SVS - indeed. Could well indicate that the vote leaders are actually both civ and there is no-one in need of a save.
As I've said, I could be wrong about zebra. I think the case is compelling, but it's still a day one case. But I think the outcome this poll is potentially very valuable going forward, whatever the outcome.
and also fyi - other's that have played with me can contradict me if they think I'm misrepresenting myself, but I don't self vote often. I've only done it if I literally don't know what's going on in the thread and I can't make a decision. I've only ever done it day one. It's something I reserve for when I feel even random feels like I could hurt someone.
I adore Floyd and we've had some completely nongame related conversations, but IDK why he did what he did. I look forward to the day we are teammates, but today is not that day.
Floyd self voting intrigues me. That's a very unusual move for a second gamer. Bea has been pinging me a bit too and then they both so that. I could easily see Bea having decided that as the best course of action and then telling him to do it too in btsc.

I will have to travel back to Ohio soon for a funeral. I don't want to be replaced. But I feel like I should make people aware of my situation. I'm juggling a few things right now.
If there is something more that I can say or do, please let me know. I wanted to spend tonight rereading, but most of it's been spent on the phone with the family.

The way those votes struck me was this; one of the two of you, possibly both, are bad. And the lynch was tied between a baddie & a civvie. And the self voters did not want to vote for a teammate, and they did not want to be the tie breaker final vote on a civ. I have done similar things when bad, tangent voting, and self voting is a tangent vote.
I could totally be wrong, but that was how it struck me at the time.

I really really do.
I can't speak for floyd like at all. He's new and cute and totes my puppy but not my teammate this game.
but in my particular case - can you see where I would be coming from as a civ?
As well as you know me. As well as you know my RL and also now there is family stuff....
And as well you know my baddie side. You know how quick I am to chuck a teammate under the buss. Do you really think in the midnight last 3 minutes of the lynch - if I were bad - I would have waited for permission to buss a teammate or not for cred if I were bad? And have voted the way I did if I were bad knowing I could chuck a teammate under the bus for cred if they were a lynch leader??
I'm asking you SVS - I don't care about other people's opinions righ now. Your post convinced me we are on the same side. I care what you think of me.

You rock up at an election, where the voting ends in one minute. You have little idea on the candidates' promises, and you panic. You know a couple of candidates will get a majority of the votes, but you find that voting for one of them will lead to something bad (in this case, lynching a civillal). You spot a name you're vaguely familiar with, who you're almost certain won't be voted on. You think, what the heck?
In other words, what everyone does at the Australian voting ballots.

This is a closed game. You don't know if his role now is even better or not for the civs. In this moment, Golden - I don't understand where you are coming from. Please explain it to me.

I missed this till you qouted it, but why? Why would you have prefered Gurnehy Golden?
This is a closed game. You don't know if his role now is even better or not for the civs. In this moment, Golden - I don't understand where you are coming from. Please explain it to me.
why Golden would you have prefered Zeeb's 1.0 role to his 2.0 role in a closed game when we really don't know what the roles do? Do you have some sort of knowlege about his old role or his new one that makes his new role a step down?

Gurney is a confirmed civ. BWT is not. It's not that hard.bea wrote:a2thezebra wrote:It's funny, you know. When Gurney was revealed you didn't seem too "gobsmacked", as you said you would be. @zebra - If you don't feel like starting ballgames, don't start them, and simultaneously say you don't feel like starting them.

@bea - that didn't come out right. What I mean is, its not about what his role is. It's about what his role is potentially able to be. 100% chance to be civ vs not a 100% chance to be civ. Does that make sense?

Oh, believe me, you can expect a ballgame. I didn't say I wasn't starting a ballgame or that I didn't want to. Just not "anytime soon." Reading is your friend.

If I can continue to expect semantic crud from you, you can continue to expect that I won't be bothered.
I'm not interested in giving you ammunition to fuel a vendetta.
Come at me, if you will. I'll just move along on to other things.

It seems weird to me that given a D1 replacement, and the fact that she was reborn as her 2.0 role, you would have stated things the way you have. I think it's far more likely that given her flip, she is likely being pulled into another civ role that needed replacement. And could potentially help the town more. She could have replaced Paul. The fact that you jumped to the potentail bad end of her replacment instead of looking for the good - troubles me.Golden wrote:@bea - that didn't come out right. At the very least, I'm willing to let her find her place this time around. I've done the 2.0 thing. It was from nilla civ to civ with some crap.
I've also had many beers. Prolly more than I should have tbh.

Re: Dune [Night 1]
I'm not worried about how you're going to react to anything I have to say, Golden. I really could care less. What I care about is town winning, the same thing I cared about when you guided town towards my mislynch. At this time, I don't think town would benefit from our conflict picking up right where it left off. All of the civilians, myself included, have become exhausted from our conflict, because it's a lot of meat with little to no bone. I'm going to let it simmer and see if others will pick up on what you are doing and point it out accordingly, because if it's coming from me, it's going to be skimmed at best and completely ignored at worst, just like it was before. When the time is right, I hope you will be prepared, for your sake.

And when I subbed in from a day one civ lynch, it was to a baddie role and I won the game.bea wrote:It seems weird to me that given a D1 replacement, and the fact that she was reborn as her 2.0 role, you would have stated things the way you have. I prefer gurney because it's KNOWN. I'm not jumping to any end of the spectrum for zebra's new role. Everything is potential.

I don't like the pissing contest. Golden and Zebra, please stop
I'm glad you have the opportunity to be back zebra. Say 1 lynches, especially civvie lynches always make me feel bad for the players.
As for your alignment this time, it remains to be seen.
Is it me or does Matt F seem really unhelpful up until now? No theories? no questions?

Re: Dune [Night 1]
Can't it just be that they didn't want to be the tie breaker on either civ because they'd be looked at badly?S~V~S wrote:The way those votes struck me was this; one of the two of you, possibly both, are bad.
It's interesting to me that you're acknowledging the fact that you could be wrong about Bea and Floyd, but not that you could be wrong about Eloh. Don't get me wrong, I voted for her after all, but I could have been wrong. Why are you so sure about her?

Re: Dune [Night 1]
Zebra - Do you think Golden is bad for doing everything short of wagering his grandkids' college funds to get you lynched, or do you think he was just a mistaken civvie?
I ask because I'm kind of confuzzled as to where you stand with Golden now regarding his alignment. If I'm reading this correctly, (and knowing me I'm not haha!), it seems like now you are saying he is scum, but you will wait until "the time is right" to get him, but not do it now for "the town's sake". And if that's what I'm reading, then I will have to quote you and say...
