Mac, you never answered me, so I'll take that as "No Matt, you would be too much of a pussy to fake curse if you were bad".

I'm not up with all the "Typhoony is Penguin" stuff, but this point is persuasive, not about Typh specifically but about the fact it wasn't a night action and that would appear to limit the options.

On the flip side, I don't know why the Penguin job would be so obvious. It's the same discussion we had when people were saying Matt was Joker. I don't think Epi is going to create mechanics that basically force people to out themselves.
Upon thinking about it I would imagine the blackmail mechanic would be as simple as "you vote for who I tell you to vote for or I will send your role to your rival"... why would it be anything else?
I could see a world in which epi did, at least, give someone enough rope to hang themselves, without it HAVING to be obvious. So they could chose something as simple as what you say, but also choose something like what happened to MP. But yeah, I think your answer is more likely.

MacDougall wrote:So Matt, you seem to have this paranoid theory that people fake curses. Maybe you faked the curse...

Since it wasn't any of the options we've laid out for you. Since you were cursed two days running.

And maybe your suspicion on TH stems from the fact that you were faking it, so you think he must be.
If I were bad, I wouldn't try to draw attention to myself by faking curses. You just played bad with me, does that strike you as something I would pull?

I see TH has gone from your number 1 suspect to you defending him now.

Hmmm, what was that case on you and TH again? :ponder:

Linki - Again, don't trust me on the Riddler thing if you don't want, but I know what I know.
Matt, you are a nervy scum player but you did manage to fabricate an incredibly complex web of lies to manipulate metalmarsh in BTSC and win the game so I'd say faking curses isn't exactly something that'd be too hard for you.

The progression of the Mac is Mafia theorum...

1. Turnip Head postulates that I was a partner of nero
2. Matt postulates that I am a partner of bea
3. Turnip Head reveals he has changed his mind on original read
4. Matt postulates I am a partner of Turnip Head

Before you chase this next shiny object down the rabbit hole of no return Matthew I suggest you read over all the interactions Turnip Head and I have had in opposition to one another since my literal first post in the game. If you can still see teammates there all the power to you but you're talking about some hectic, ungodly levels of bussing and distancing not to mention Turnip Head creating a case on me that almost got me lynched. I won't say we're not capable of it as players but if you can find anything there that doesn't read genuine then I tip my hat.

I already told you my role. I'm superman.

Joker -> Riddler?

Or has Matt been targeted by the Penguin early on? Do we know that the Penguin's target has to vote a certain way, or just has to act a certain way?
He's Riddler man.
How so?
He's posting in riddles two days in a row. Different kinds. Day 1 knock knock jokes. Day 2 Shakespeare. Can't be double targeted...

I don't think that makes him anti-town though.
Matt has such a good resume. He gets targetted twice for these pranks. He leads a lynch on a baddie.

I caution against this being the reason we civ read him. Although I do feel pretty good about him right now despite these things.

But tomorrow will mark a week since he has logged in. :noble:
Why Equivocate and not Bass, or even worse Floyd.
Well, Equiv has posted the least and has actually not logged in in a week.
Floyd was here yesterday. (That actually is quite troubling...)
Bass's activity is hidden, so I'm not sure what his deal is.

linki: bea, I and someone else laid out that if, in fact, we assume Penguin blackmailed MP, then the only legit option to be seen is Typh. Unless SVS was blackmailed to do something subtle like cough. OR he chose not to blackmail,,,but that's like winning $20 off a scratch-off and deciding to use it as kindle in a fire instead.
Floyd is the better lynch then if you're going after lurkers. I am quite sure Floyd hasn't posted since DAY FUCKING ZERO and has been here.
I saw these posts, before my vote yesterday. Just going to note that here. I'd missed quite a bit of content before them, so I must have checked in when they were very recent.

Also should note that post was incorrect and I was basing it off the title of the most recent Floyd post. Subsequently I realise his last posts were actually on day 2. He had just quoted a day 0 post.

And looking again, they were the last posts on Wednesday night (my time) so I had probably seen them just before going to bed on Wednesday night. I had forgotten them until now, but given I didn't read the thread at all on Thursday except where I checked in and voted, I think they influenced me more than I realised.

Thats one for Dom's sig!

The speculation on Dom being less prickly, though, doesn't raise my eyebrow about Dom. I felt like he gets tense when he and Mac are exchanging pleasantries, and is normally relatively sedate and nice so all I'm seeing is normal Dom who hasn't had any recent exchanges with Mac.

I haven't really focussed on Dom this game... I don't have any sort of read on him, and 'nice, normal Dom', doesn't equate to a particular affiliation for me.

Well as i said this morning, bea's assertion that you are an experienced player and not do something like what's been done to MP does give me pause. DH however thinks maybe MP was cursed to vote for sig and made up this "vote for sig" thingy he puts on all his posts to make it obvious his sig vote is a curse. Back to you, I do think you'd be smart enough to put a caveat on a vote force that the person could not let on in any way that they have been forced. So I guess the longer i think about it the less sure I am that you could be the Penguin. I also noticed you voted second for Wilgy and it seems like if you are the Penguin you would have wanted to make sure there was more than just one other voter on the person you were going to curse - thats assuming you were going to do this obvious of a curse on Wilgy. Anyway, I keep talking myself out of a vote for you.
Hey, Mac, thinking about your idea of what the curse would be, this post from juliets makes a lot of sense.

If the curse was set (you are forced to vote, and the Penguin chooses who you are forced to vote)... rather than the Penguin deciding the curse...

Then MP could have found a loophole.

The question is would epi have allowed that loophole? I'm not sure. It would also mean that the rationale for the Penguin being Typhoony, not one of the other two MP voters, is flawed since it would be looking for obvious thread behaviour instead of just an odd vote.

But, ultimately, the thing that makes me think this is wrong is MP's 'EBWOP' which suggests he was not simply finding a flaw.

Overall, I think I still lean away from 'the riddler voted MP' as the likely answer for the sig stuff.

I dunno. Matt's just a chatty cathy.
It does give credence to why MP was so involved suddenly and posting in only single responses per post...

I really feel like Matt's curse had an end goal with the changing plays, though. I know he can't comment on it without fear of some penalty or whatever, but I would have liked to see what he meant by "getting a hint to a location of an inmate"

If we desparately need to find Penguin, juliets raises a really valid point when she mentions that penguin is going to want to vote for someone that has a lot of votes on them.

But inversely someone who isn't gonna get lynched right?

So let's look at who keeps voting late for non lynched candidates that have multiple votes on them?

It's going to be hilarious when it turns out equivocate is Penguin and this is all a bunch of hoopla about nothing though.

I don't appreciate this, SVS. It seems like every time you decide you are the arbiter of my tone, you take a dig at me. It's not the first time you've asked 'who is this golden'. Yeah, whoever took my vote yesterday wasn't going to get a good explanation, I didn't have time, and Typhoony calling that 'this shit', well too bad. It's not like I hadn't said why.

Maybe curse posting comes with minimum limits. Everyone who has been cursed won't shut up.

ISO me, it's not hard to figure out what I wanted peeps to do, and what some players actually did do (juliets and others) so I appreciate the help from some at least.

Well, I mean, I didn't have time for Typh telling me it was shit that I wouldn't ask him questions. It was reality that I didn't have time to ask him questions. I was being very direct in all my posts in that time frame. No time for waffle.

I don't care for this Penguin craze. I feel like a few days ago I was getting berated for thinking the Penguin should be lynched if we had him, but now we actually have some solid Mafia leads, and everyone's making up excuses for anybody else to be the Penguin? The explanations that MP got poisoned and Matt either gets fucked with a lot or is a complete goofball settle fine with me. There's no evidence for anything like some of you are claiming, so why even do this? We lynched a baddie yesterday and then stopped their kill, I think we're a lot closer to getting Nero's teammate than anything we'll achieve by randomly focusing on the Penguin today.
I agree with this. Too much focus on the penguin.

I am aware that I was being patronising, but I would consider it the usual level not "ridiculously" and also it was with my tongue firmly in my cheek. I don't think your emotional reaction here is genuine at all. I know you pretty well from sharing scum btsc with you and I don't consider you to be someone who could be shook by something like this.
I don't see it. I think Bullz's responses to you read genuine.

I also really read Enrique civ and am beginning to wonder if I was smoking something feeling he was Nero's teammate, but I'm still going to try to do an iso on his early game if I get time.

I wouldn't be averse to this. I also wouldn't be averse to lynching MP. Both of these players strike me as highly unlikely to be GCPD or Wayne Manor. MP is unlikely to be Mafia, but his flip interests me. If he is Ghul it could be a good move.

You clearly don't see my point then because the second post is similar to the two posts I am referring to but whatever. Don't vote for Bullzeye then.

I'm interested in some more opinions on Scotty as well. I'm reading him civ but after the day 1 situation with Wilgy I'd have had him pegged as a likely kill by now and yet he remains alive.

Bullzeye enters thread with a greeting. Makes a quip or wisecrack about the real world. Affirms to have his game face on.
