I have a more intimate (for lack of a better word) mafia history with Sloonei than many others due at this site; I've hosted with him in Talking Heads and played games with him here and on RYM, and especially noted the differences between his civilian and mafia meta lately.

To clarify: to say the least, I'd be shocked if he flipped civilian. I'm pretty much putting my reputation on the line by vouching for him, but not in any attempt to mess with outing rules; rather, only to express how strongly I feel about him being town this game.

I perhaps have gone a bit overboard, but only because he has been receiving a lot of attention and he has almost been lynched.
LOL, obvious mistake. I mean if he flipped mafia. :P

Those are two of the harder players to read right now in my opinion.

They both, from what I can tell anyway, seem to be staying out of the limelight of the game; they haven't received a ton of attention and they're far from supatowning it up by providing opinions on players. Long Con's approach is very "makes a comment here and there, but commits to nothing major" IMO, whereas Wilgy is just being an enigma. I really don't understand where his opinions are coming from.

What do you think of them?

What posts of MP have strongly read town to you so far?
Thats a pretty good question, actually.

:hugs:

I sure wish I had some good puns to share in the thread currently. They just aren't my strong suit. I have been thinking about starting a new business though. If any one here is interested and needs some help, I will fart on your algebra homework for a mere $10. I'm going to become a math tooter.
I know it's far too late. And when I read this - I was knee deep in construction and 5pm traffic. And that day was so aweful, but I wnated you to know indi - that I read that and it made me giggle.

and also -it was a good question. I hope I see it play out.

Elohcin wrote:Epi, are you gonna save ME this time?
Thinking in those terms is premature at this stage. I think others need to weigh in properly first. More importantly, putting people in positions where someone has to vote to save someone / someone has to vote to save oneself almost always benefits Mafia, never civilians. The false dilemma is the greatest tool Mafia has, because civilians usually set it up themselves.

My preferred lynch is Sloonei right now.
I agree with all of what Epi is saying here. re: the false delema. I fully admit when I am a lazy civ - which is sadly most of the time - I will look at who has votes and decide among them.

That said, since I tend to vote as late as I can - would you have an old lady civ with a cane vote where it can count or vote her gut? cuz I can see peeps saying "oh - bea just threw away her vote there." -

I think you are civ this game so I honestly want your answer. I KNOW that more than one game I've voted between the contenders because I didn't want to "waste my vote." But when in this situation more times than not, I'm not sure of anyone in the lead. And I'm not even sure if the other person I'd vote for would be more likely bad.

It's also why I hinted it to the thread at least once, see this post:
MovingPictures07 wrote:Crazy conspiracy thought: DrWilgy and indiglo are both bad; indiglo wanted to get me lynched, used DrWilgy's "seduced" vote of me as a way to get more discussion surrounding me, but then Wilgy backed off because he's not really seduced, and someone else still is.
It is worth noting that one Civ role and one Mafia role can affect a person's vote.

In my reading of the thread from start to finish, I have to disagree here.

Eloh is one of my strongest town reads.

I can't believe others don't see it tbh.

Maybe it's just because I got all the way up to hear knowing where the end lead, but still....

Eloh actively asked questions of like every major thing that happened. She wasn't pushing an agenda. She was inquiring and asking questions.

I'm up in the air about lots of peeps at this point - and some is predicated by apparent vouching - but as far as actual in thread stuff goes? Yup. Eloh is totes town.

I know these are new tools we are playing with - but when does this actually net baddies? My old lady mentality always sees this as pressure to vote against instincts and voting against instincts can't be good for civs can it?

Did it work out well this time? Can you show me a time where it has?

I support an indiglo lynch over all the others with more than 1 vote though, since she's in my most bottom category as well, for observations/reasons I've tried to demonstrate.
In hindsite this feels like a way to vote a civ and lynch a civ and keep your hands clean.

That said Lots of my emotions are in all kinds of havic right now because I'm a) drunk and b) got a customer complaint on my personal cell that the company doesn't pay for becuase my kids are dumbasses apperntly. and c) because talking to my boss makes the whole first of the year trama I experienced and the fact that it's STILL not settled with one person so fucking hurty. and that's why I'm only this far along in my epic catsup. :(

If I went into the thread on d1 from the getgo and built a legitimate case against every other player in the game, and then every time someone suspects me I could just denounce them and not even respond to their points by saying "NO U".

can we remember that next time you use it?

Also regarding CFDs, disagree with my hunting if you wish, but I had e best interests of town at heart and I think that was evident. I also could not have accomplished the switch to indi if no one followed me. And let's not forget that I did it because I found the main candidates (Elo, me, Sloonei) unsatisfactory. You've got everyone who voted for indiglo out of nowhere for no reason, you've got MP who switched his vote from indiglo to Epi while still advocating that indiglo would be a better lynch than Eloh when keeping his vote on indiglo would have put indiglo at the lead at the time, (waffly, just a little bit waffly that is...just a tiny bit) you've got Scotty's vote for MP with reasons he couldn't seem to decide, and my personal favorite of them all, you've got Long Con going from his Elohcin vote to saying that he won't accept an Elohcin lynch and then switching to Scotty, effectively sealing indiglo's lynch. So the Elohcin lynch doesn't happen in favor of - surprise - a mislynch. A mislynch of a player that wasn't even talked about as suspicious before very near the end of the day and didn't arrive until it was practically too late to defend against the "thin air" (as she accurately put it) that her mislynch was. I especially loved it when MP asked for indiglo to give him content - when she was already trying to catch up and respond to his non-case - less than ten minutes before the day ended. I think indiglo hit the nail on the head right here:
indiglo wrote: I don't have time to respond to it all MP. Well played. I almost didn't make it on here this morning, but I had a few minutes so I came on. You have twisted and misinterpreted every single post of mine you've quoted.

I am now thinking he may be FL - who survives his first death. That's why he said "kill me instead of sloon." Then he opportunistically jumped on me instead, because why waste your first survival this early?
Get your shit together, town. And way to completely annihilate my town read of you MP. This was the last nail in your-chances-of-being-town's coffin:
MovingPictures07 wrote:How about you give another suspect other than me, indi? Or do you not have any because you're fabricating your posts? You're about to die. Why don't you leave a legacy post?
Here you're expecting her to catch up, respond to your defense, deliver content, and leave behind a legacy post (I'm guessing a rainbow list) in less than three fucking minutes. Are you shitting me? Scotty answered this better than I could.
Scotty wrote:

Well maybe she had a CFD on her on the last 30 minutes- because why not- and was too busy trying to defend herself.
"Why not" is fucking right. But you could have stopped it Scotty, and you didn't. If you had switched to Eloh then indiglo might have had a chance, but you didn't seem to care, too busy with your MP vote that didn't change anything and you knew that it wouldn't. I would be reading everyone but sprityo as bad right now but even sprityo seemed shady with his Eloh vote. Maybe he thought that her lynch was more likely at the time, so he contributed to her didn't-end-up-happening lynch for some town cred? Maybe. So everyone's bad, basically. Not everyone is anti-town but everyone's playing like it, fucking hell.
Eloh would have resulted in a mislynch too.
I ageee. Eloh is reading totes town to me.

I don't like the way that lynch went down and obviously that result is less than ideal, but I don't see MP as bad because of it. That would be a strange as hell move for scum to pull. I also have town reads on Elohcin and SVS. I'd say the same for Zebra, but I'm never doing that again.
I still think Scotty should have been lynched, and nothing he's said at any point has swayed my opinion in any way. The only other time we played together (Bullets Over Broadway) he was a clear town read for me all game long. Granted that was over half a year ago and I have barely played any mafia since.

I'm also struggling to see Epi as good right now, but he's not a strong scum read either. If I had more time I'd ask questions. I'd be surprised if none of the people on that indiglo wagon were bad. Sorsha or Epi would be my first guesses. I don't know how to read niju.
I wish I knew which questions you'd ask epi if you had more time. I feel they might be relivant.

CFD is stupid. It rarely works. Just like rainbow lists are bullshit. I'm sorry, but a lot of the stuff brought over from RYM just sucks. Y'all keep on with it if it makes you happy, but not this cowboy.

This is incredibly patronizing after the fact. It's easy to come in after the fact and criticize.

Yes, I realize perhaps I was being unfair to indiglo, but I will always be the first to recognize it was a CFD, which inevitably means it was last minute and not planned. I was hoping to get at least something out of indiglo before she died other than "you're bad lol", but I didn't.

At least I tried. You were town reading me when I wasn't playing, but now that I'm trying to play you think I'm bad? What incentive does that give me to continue trying?
For me, reading it all hindesite like, it's about the CDF.

I'm not a super fan. I'm an old lady and don't like changable votes in the first place. Again, I ask - how does the CDF help the town? How is manipulating all the doubt most town peeps have in the first place to someone EVERYONE baddies and town alike can agree that they have the *least* read on - good for the town?

How is this not a tool of the mafia? How would this have worked out well for you in your mind as you were doing it?

I'm genuinely asking this question btw. Cuz I feel all sorts of pressure when I am around to vote (especially when I tend to only vote once despite changeable votes) w/o all that CFD crap along with it.

also - don't even talk incentive to keep playing MP - I'm doing my goddamn best even limited and everyone knows I'm limited. Everyone knows you are too. Don't even pull that "Oh woo is me no one believes me now that I'm playing" bullsuit. You will keep trying because you are not dead yet. Don't even insult us all with "why should I bother?" You AND we are above it. :noble:

Need to do some investigation going into d3, but I've already spent way too more time goofing off today than I should be.

Also, can my yellow reads please come in here and post more? I can't judge your content because there's not enough of it. Thanks.

I'm not saying that (underlined).

On whom do you want me to elaborate?

I am trying to do that. I've only been active and current in this thread as of this morning (EoD D2). I don't disagree with you.
MovingPictures07 wrote:And Elo, what you probably are picking up is the fact that yes, I've only really had my head in this game since this morning, it's only Night 2 and we haven't had a successful lynch yet, so I'm still trying to figure everything out. I'm trying my best though. I'm not sure what about it feels fabricated because it isn't.
Well, I can say that your posts which claim that you were seduced do seem genuine.

Also, I see you are vouching for sloonei very strongly. If you are civ having BTSC with him, I urge you to read the rule about how role claiming leads to death. I know you might not be telling us exactly who you are, but you are still gently claiming a btsc role. This is what I'm seeing anyway. I could be wrong.
I see this too - though technically this could be ok because boris and natasha could also vouch for each other and with so much civ bts how besides lynch could you prove any of them wrong?

To clarify: to say the least, I'd be shocked if he flipped civilian. I'm pretty much putting my reputation on the line by vouching for him, but not in any attempt to mess with outing rules; rather, only to express how strongly I feel about him being town this game.

I perhaps have gone a bit overboard, but only because he has been receiving a lot of attention and he has almost been lynched.

Bea I don't know what I would I have said in indi's position and I don't think it's productive in the slightest to dwell on why CFD sucks or why I shouldn't have voted indi or poor indi whatever. I started a mislynch. I take responsibility for that. But it doesn't matter now, I laid out my thought process clear as day as to the posts I thought were her lying. Sorsha and SVS believed I was into something. That's it. I'm tired of being made out as Mr. Oh you fucked up because you started a CFD train. This is not a productive way for the thread to go. Let's catch baddies and stop dwelling on a mislynch.

And SVS if you want to lynch Sloonei I want to hear why because I will fight it.

I'm sorry if all of that sounded too cranky; it probably was. But I meant what I said and I would be happy to answer specific questions or concerns about whatever. But I think enough negativity and blame is being surfaced around and not enough mafia hunting. Bea basically came in the thread and lectured me, said duh Elo is town, and I didn't get really much else out of her. I would like to hear what others think of the following players:

Long Con
Sorsha
Scotty
sprityo

I would also still like to know exactly why Sorsha followed me yesterday because  or I trusted you blindly is not really a substantive reason.

Day 3

Following the untimely death of Rocky, everyone was in a dour mood. Bullwinkle was inconsolable, and no one else knew quite what to say.

They trudged on in silence towards the Wassamata U campus. Only Boris, disguised as a professor, was unable to hide his glee. Every once in a while, he would giggle, and a tall woman walking next to him would elbow him sharply in the side until he stopped. Now, to implement Phase 2 of the plan.

Join us next time for "Second Helpings" or "Sabie's Not Back!"

Sabie12 has been killed.
You have 24 hours to lynch a baddie.

A message from Aesop and Son:

There were once two men, buddies since they were kids. One of the men was a carpenter and the other a business man. They decided to go into business together. "An ice cream stand on the beach," the business man said, "the kids will love it!"

The two of them went to work immediately. The carpenter got all the materials to build the stand. The business man thought about a business plan for the ice cream stand. He thought on how he and his friend could market their product, how much they would sell the ice cream for, and what their profit would be. He made a list in his head of the things they would need to get: ice cream machine, ingredients, napkins, spoons, and bowls. He thought to himself what a great idea this ice cream stand was. "What a smart dude I am."

After obtaining the materials needed, the carpenter went to work building the ice cream stand. After thinking about his plan, the business man decided that the weather was so lovely that he'd take a nap in the warm sun.

The next morning the two friends met at the stand. It looked magnificent. They already had a line full of excited customers. There was only one problem. They had no ice cream to sell. I guess you could say, the carpenter really nailed it, but the business man screwed everything up.

¿Que?
I said I don't know if you were trying to save Sloonei, yourself or someone else.
Also my point was that even though you said save Sloonei, you offered yourself. And when you started taking votes, it seemed to me like you woke up and started spitting, only you didn't have a spittoon to target. You did say SAVE SLOONEI but you also wanted votes off you as well. Just because you say something initially doesn't mean it's the one person you were trying to protect. Elo you read as town, and even though you say you were smooched to vote Epi, it's just words.

Which, speaking of, it doesn't look like anyone counter claimed the smooching, so that actually does do a service in your favor for civ Cred.
..Unless you were blocked as the smoocher, and chose to just roll with it as a self-infliction. Seems like a convoluted plan for sure, but seeing as you were so suddenly involved, I wouldn't put it past you to pull something like that.
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather;
not screaming like the people in his car
