This was kind of epic. I think mostly because I did not get the most votes and I was able to do a not entirely self-defensive vote.

Re: Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
Day 1
MP sat staring out the window, deep in thought. The "war" was in full swing, his goons had been running non stop trying to corner the cops that were making his business difficult. Yet he was concerned, they were turning against not just the Daisy Crime Syndicate but each other as well. Accusations of treachery were flying left and right. His family was obviously not sure who to trust anymore. He picked up the phone and dialed Daisy.
"Did you hear what happened today?"
"Yes."
"Was this part of your plan? Have them tearing at themselves?"
"Does it matter? Once the dust settles we will be done with the police and there will be only one family left to run this town."
"Let's just hope there's something left to run."
"Why are you so worked up, it's not like my family hasn't been at each other too! It'll work out, and it will be worth it. Especially for me when your family gets absorbed by mine.
MP looked up as one of his lackeys entered the room and handed him a slip of paper. He read it and then said, "Looks like they decided who they think is one of the cops."
"Who is it?"
--------------------------------------
In a back alley, a crowd had gathered. There was an abundance of yelling and accusations and threats to "pound" and "whack" each other, and an odd "oink" here and there as well... though no one was quite sure why. There didn't seem to be much consensus and people changed their mind on who they believed to be a cop in their midst as often as they changed their underwear.
Interestingly enough some of them even wanted to work more closely with the other family, but clearly trust only extended so far and any organized plan of mutual benefit was abandoned. Some of the votes cast would rub others the wrong way, it wouldn't be easily forgotten.
Eventually they came to a decision, although not everyone was on board. They bound and gagged the unwilling victim, and pulled a burlap sack over his head before beating them bloody. He barely escaped alive. He knew his only recourse was to go to the police station and turn himself in. So as night fell, Diiny slipped into the local precinct.
Diiny has been arrested. He was the Traitor, a member of The Sockfaced Famiglia.
The Traitor from The Daisy Crime Syndicate has defected to The Sockfaced Famiglia.
Sockface has elected to use his one-time use host ability to assist The Sockfaced Famiglia.
It is now Night 1.
You have 23 hours to send in your night actions.

Re: [NIGHT 1] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
Host Announcement:
The Loan Shark for The Sockfaced Famiglia is now accepting offers for votes.
The Loan Shark for The Daisy Crime Syndicate is now accepting offers for votes.
Instructions:
1) PM Sockface Loan Shark or Daisy Loan Shark and request the number of votes (either 1, 2, or 3) you would like to request. You may request votes starting now up until the end of Day 2.
2) The Loan Shark will then return your PM telling you only if he has confirmed your request. If he has denied your request, you will hear nothing.
3) If he has confirmed your request, you will receive the number of extra votes to be cast in secret only for Day 2. If you do not elect to use them during Day 2 by PMing your host, your extra votes will vanish.
4) Regardless of whether you used your votes, after Day 2's completion, the Loan Shark will then tell you the terms for payment, which you must complete.
Do NOT engage in BTSC to the Loan Shark sockpuppet accounts. The Loan Shark means business only. He doesn't want to hear about your bullsuit.
If you have questions, let your host know.

How dare you all lynch one of my family?
You will be avenged, Diiny!
Thankfully, you were my Traitor, and it seems I have gained a new member. All in all, not too bad of a day.

What you said was in the same territory as saying 'I think x is mafia' but not explaining yourself. I want to know, from you, why Wilgy's plan was such a bad idea. I want to know why Diiny is so suspicious. Information drives this game and you provided nothing.Enrique wrote:I ignored the situation? I said it was a terrible idea that each Don would try to avoid at all costs anyway.Quin wrote:I've decided to change my vote to Enrique. I'm going to take sig's word for it that ika's actions are simply a cultural thing, but I've got myon him.
How much information we have determines who wins a game. That's one of my philosophies. That, and ask a shitload of questions and assume everything until proven otherwise. Enrique hasn't been able to provide the amount of information that I'd expect from a townie. The accusation I made of ika on how he ignored the traitor/don situation completely without justifying himself applies to Enrique in the same manner. On top of that, I found one of his latest posts (I'll find it as soon as I post this and explain myself) extremely scummy.

Re: Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
I voted Bullzeye. I feel he got replaced way too fast after his vote. He took the time to catch up, vote for me, said he'll ask to be replaced, and got replaced 4 minutes after that. Feels like the arrangements to get him replaced were already set in motion before he posted and voted.
Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed? I haven't heard that one before. What do you mean by that?Scotty wrote:Wow. Everyone checked in. I'm impressed.
Of the low posters, Tranq's only post here seems very bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Will continue to scan the thread but he's going to get my vote right now.Tranq wrote:No-shows could get replaced. I see no harm in trying Wilgy's plan. For science!Scotty wrote:I will bet my [hopefully] unborn child that the 30 person coordinated vote will not work out. There will be too many no-shows. Re: Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
But I did address both of those points... one of them more or less indirectly in the post you quotes. The host would avoid making one of his team members defect, wouldn't he? And I thought Diiny was bad for his overeagerness in going after people who were barely even here, as well as jumping on every wagon that looked like it had a chance to take off.Quin wrote:What you said was in the same territory as saying 'I think x is mafia' but not explaining yourself. I don't know what you mean about the host wanting the avoid defection. The host isn't the one who triggered it. Can you elaborate on what you meant? 'Barely being here' isn't a feasible defense. You clearly were here, anyway. If you're putting me in the same boat as Diiny, I'll remind you I only ever voted for ika and you. I was the first to vote for ika, and there was no bandwagon for you at all.
I don't want you to think I'm having a go at you for anything. I just see your current playing style as scummy, and I've justified why.

Err, Don, sorry.
I don't think you're having a go at me, I simply and I mean this sincerely hadn't been around till a couple hours ago, and still I'm sure I've contributed more than several other people in the game. The smileys I posted were probably like every single moment I even had signal yesterday. I'm also not grouping you with Diiny, you sorta just came up with that on your on.
But I'm here now and I may be a little swamped with work but I'll catch up any minute.

no, that was not a role claim. that's my post count title.
I did notice there was some synchronicity between the roles and the site titles.

I am here. I will try to get caught up when I can, but tonight is Walking Dead night with the Mr... and that takes precedence.

Cool result for the Sockfaces, and though it wasn't a Cop, at least that puts all the Traitor discussion firmly behind us.

The general rule here is that you can talk game at night. Unless the rules specify otherwise.ika wrote:Ok im home i will be reading shorty.

Re: [NIGHT 1] Turf Wars: Battle of the Hosts
If anyone wants an explanation for my vote, I was at work and didn't have time to read or really do anything, but I checked the poll just before the deadline and saw a four way tie between Diiny, Golden, Gleam, and Wilgy. I had town reads on the first three, so I elected to try and save all three by putting a vote on the one null read of the bunch, Wilgy. He was not my first choice, but among the four who had votes he was my favorite option.

I read everything that happened after I left and I'd like to change my vote to Gleam.

Later Diiny. Not sure if I should say RIP or RIJ(ail)...I wonder if arrested players can be "released" (rezzed).

I thought you were considering a vote for Gleam earlier in the day? When did this change into a town read?Sloonei wrote:If anyone wants an explanation for my vote, I was at work and didn't have time to read or really do anything, but I checked the poll just before the deadline and saw a four way tie between Diiny, Golden, Gleam, and Wilgy. I am going to drop a vote on Gleam for now, he made a lot of assumptions based on incorrect role reads, then backtracked them, and if you cancel all that out, he made a lot of posts comparative to others at this early stage, but did not say much.

What changed here? When did Gleam become a town read? He did not post between your 2:34 post (he had been posting fairly regularly up to that point, but his last post was right before yours) and when you voted. I change my mind all the time, especially on Day One, but someone you had mentioned as being suspicious sometime before, why wouldn't you make note of it when you started seeing him as a toen read? Since he was taking votes. I read through your posts, and could not find that point, and I would like to know what it was since I still find him suspect, and if there is a reason I should reconsider, I wouldlike toknow what it is.Sloonei wrote:I guess we're trading places on the poll. @ Sig To me its not "highly pingy" to call out lurking.
I am going to change my vote. Losing Ika now will eradicate all meta reads that he can give us on Silverwolf. I don´t like that uncertainty.
Im going to check up un Gleam and see if thats whgere my vote will be.

Well, I'm sick as a dog, btu at least I'm back in town. The good news is I'm taking the day off work, so hopefully I should be able to catch up. The bad news is that I have 18 pages of reading to do.
