I started with In Through the Out Door (I don't really count Coda as a true Zeppelin album since it's just a hodgepodge of previously unreleased tracks). Right now I'm almost done with Houses of the Holy. "The Ocean" just started. Good stuff.
I have a hard time deciding if my favorite Zeppelin song is "Achilles' Last Stand" or "The Rain Song."
It's the former for me.
Both of those would probably be in my top 10 if I were to sit down a hash out such a list. It's a hard choice to make because I love most of Zeppelin's albums in their entirety but off the top of my head, I have to go with "When the Levee Breaks." The song itself is not terribly complex in nature and there's a lot of production trickery behind the final product but it's the song that got me hooked on Zeppelin.
I grew up listening to their songs on classic rock radio but really got into exploring music when I was in college. I worked in the college library and got into early blues music, especially pre-World War 2 Delta blues. My sophomore year roommate was a Music Recording Technology major and had me listen to "When the Levee Breaks" on vinyl through high quality stereo system and a pair of $500 headphones he used for his studio work. My mind was blown and I spent the next two weeks listening to nothing but Led Zeppelin's albums.
It may seem like a passe choice but it was an influential moment for me expanding my musical tastes.
"When the Levee Breaks" was my first breakthrough Zeppelin exposure as well. Great song, even though I haven't listened to them in a while.
I'd join you guys in this thread more often, but my computer takes several minutes to load all the youtube videos (and there's not a site mechanic to turn those off).
But one thing I've noticed, if you put youtube videos in spoiler tags, they don't load until you open the spoiler tag, making the thread as a whole quicker to load.

I've heard it a couple handfuls of times now, and I'm inclined to agree. Definitely better than Centipede Hz. Not sure it reaches Feels level though, and definitely not SJ or MPP. Still pretty solid, however.

At Fillmore East is absolutely fucking legendary. So good. I haven't heard it in way too long, and I'm still "working" on PhD work, so thought it'd be a good way to keep me going since I've been up since 4am.
I am listening to Electric Light Orchestra's Eldorado, which I like better every time I hear it. It lacks the immediacy of singles like Evil Woman or Mr. Blue Sky, but it holds together as an album superbly, and I'm increasing convinced that it is their best work, second only to Out of the Blue.
If you haven't heard it in a while (or at all) I would encourage you to give it a spin.

It took me about 8 years to like it.
