Cherished childhood memory...I guess watching Bonanza with my grandma? It used to be on every day. It wasn't good after Adam left the show though.

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia
I can answer the part about other sites since ika and I come from the same place. We normally don't give reads in between days-before day starts or after a lynch occurs but before a new day starts. It just gives those about to take night actions more to work with or it's too early in the game to really do it.Sorsha wrote:What methods do you use for baddie hunting? i do give reads, i just dont give them out right away. depeding on the type of game will depend on what i do. most time i will try to towhunt and POE the rest out. other times i jsut like zoning in on people and see if they break.
this game im going to try to role hunt everyone :P

I will say if Epi acts anti-town regardless of alignment, he's always gonna be null to me and I'd lynch just to make sure so I hope that changes.

^that pretty much, doesn't matter how much he has played or how long. To me, when someone nerfs themselves to improve scum games by downplaying town games, they are not playing proper. if anything one should try to make their scum game more like their town game if it is better and vice versa.Silverwolf wrote:I will say if Epi acts anti-town regardless of alignment, he's always gonna be null to me and I'd lynch just to make sure so I hope that changes.
from what i hear and see epi has a better town game when he tries, so he should improve his scum game to mirror that and not jsut "dumb down" his town game
to me it its not even goign to generate a read its just going to be policy lynch material

MacDougall declared Matt his policy lynch at one time in a game here a few months back and it didn't go over well. Mac was from another forum where I guess that kind of thing was more "the norm," we (Syndicaters and players from the Syndicates predecessors RM, LP and TP) hadn't been exposed to that tactic before then. I'm in now way trying to discourage you from it. I just saw the words "policy lynch" and remember the shit storm that ensued before.ika wrote:would you like to share?Sorsha wrote: Oh no.... did you say p-p-p-policy l-lynch? *shudders at the not so long ago memory* *backs away from ika*

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia
Cherished childhood memory eh? Well, a dear childhood friend of mine passed away this past week, so what comes to mind first right now are the memories I made with him. He was in my youth group,we grew up in the same church. Our youth group would have lock-ins, turn out all the lights in the church and play sardines. We attended the same church camp, performing arts camp week actually. We would all go on night hikes through the camp or sit around the campfire singing. And for my senior solo in high school I actually did a duet with him instead, which I found out later was kind of a big deal, he was known for his singing (he would later be a recording artist) and he didn't sing with everyone because he got so sick of being asked. So yeah, it's nice to have that memory. We also used to go the church whenever we wanted and fire up the sound system and sing. Good times sitting at a piano and singing at midnight.
Ok, that was more than just one memory, so forgive me for that.
Now, I'll stop being a downer and say ILLY!!!
Also, yay game! This should be fun!

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia
My only comments at this point is that Epi's refusal to make a lie detector statement says nothing to me about his alignment. I would have had the same response because I know on this site it is common to not allow straight up forced LD statements to be used. And honestly I would have had the same reaction as he did.
I have nothing else that jumps out at me yet, kind of early for me really.

And A World Reborn: http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 70#p189670
Those are where Mac makes his declarations. I'm not sure how much further it was until it started getting intense but you can read for yourself. Mac was never lynched for it, just had to put up with people not liking his stance on the matter.

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia
That is some respectable past-game linking. Epi doesn't seem suspicious for being against the LD statement before it was cool... as soon as I saw the plan, I was shaking my head. It's a cheap way out that sucks the creativity and judgment out of the Lie Detector role, and I am always a proponent of acting in the best interests of the spirit of the game, and the Host's intended function of the roles. It's cool to try and find loopholes, but as a host I almost always just close the loophole with a 'spirit of the game' argument.

I'm sad the Illyria missed the A World Apart sequel, A World Reborn. Illyria was the Chaos Wizard in the first installment, and her lynch was one of the best posts I have written IMO.
Illy, the Chaos Wizard was in the sequel, but didn't make any waves due to being piloted by quasi-inactives.
