Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 1
Sorry for the lackluster activity guys. I have a game I'm hosting ending right now and had a somewhat busy weekend so haven't had the time to post much or vote. This will change soon enough.

Night 1 has ended.
Elohcin was killed. She was Jeri Hogarth, town-aligned. Duh.
Day 2 begins now and ends in 48 hours. The poll has no technical deadline because last time it totally fucked up for a reason that I have yet to identify, so I'll try to be here at this exact time 48 hours from now to end the day.

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 1
Character claiming was something that Zebra all but asked us to ask whether or not it was allowed, and it can heavily influence the game. I thought it was worth knowing. That was the point of my first post, to find information to support the civ cause.DrWilgy wrote:Why do people think I'm not civ? At least call me bad...
Sorry, I must've missed the question Scotty. The reason is that INH is willing to say things without purpose.

Hello INH. Are you classified as a civilian?
By the way, the Daredevil thing was a joke. I'm not really him.
OR AM I?
No, I'm really not.
The second post was a joke. Me being lighthearted. Kidding around. Having a laugh. Rustling a few jimmies. Exercising the ol' funny bone.
People thought it was serious, so I spelled out its falsity in the third post. I then made another joke, because humor is the only defense humankind has against its own mortality. It's all that stands between us, depression, and oblivion. Plus I like feeling witty. You can empathize, right Wilgy?

Hmm.timmer wrote:Someone named Ruben. You?DrWilgy wrote:Hey Timmer, what character are you?
http://marvelcinematicuniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Ruben
Ruben was some annoying "nice guy" weirdo who had a freaky, incest-y relationship with his sister, and lived in the same building as Jessica Jones. He died at the hands of the main villain in episode four and was generally a very minor character.
Considering the very limited number of power roles, I struggle to think of why Ruben would be one of them and be given invulnerability.
I think Timmer is:
A. Lying to protect a powerful civ role, like Kilgrave, Trish, or Luke
B. Lying to protect his real baddie power role.
C. Lying about knowing why he survived the lynch.
I think C is very unlikely.
Please discuss.

Unless that advent was removed in these heist games.
Your reason for suspecting him is...slightly parallel to your own style, methinks.
Well I'm not going to limit myself to just calling someone bad or good in this game. Could be an indie role as one of the 3 power roles.DrWilgy wrote:Why do people think I'm not civ? At least call me bad...

To put it in other terms, me claiming Daredevil in a Jessica Jones game is like someone claiming Picard in a ST:TOS game.Scotty wrote:Ah, I didn't know daredevil wasn't in this show. RIP Elo, and welcome back.
No one has mentioned it, so I will. Does it mean anything that she was immediately pinged by Epi, and she was obviously a civ?
@ INH - regarding roles, iirc, when the role list was up, all 3 of Kilgrave, Jessica and Luke were listed as the baddie team. I'm 95% sure that's right, because it struck me as very odd, and really stood out in my mind. She could have changed the role lineup of course, but nevertheless that's how she had it set up previously.
I am assuming that in a game like this, role claims are all not to be believed... so I'm deciding not to even think about Ruben. I've not played a closed setup game before, but for my money not believing any claim is the way to go. (Especially if the claimed character isn't even on the show.
)

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 1
Honestly Timmer, I am not sure what to think about Epi. The last game we played together and this one....he automatically came in on Day 1 and voted someone for no reason whatsoever. It just doesn't seem like him. Maybe he is being a bad baddie. Maybe he is being a lazy civ. I don't know what to think. All I know is it seems abnormal and it doesn't jive with me. If I had not missed the vote Day 1, though, I would have voted Wilgy. He pinged me more than Epi just by his response to Epi.
I need to catch up on the few posts I haven't read since my death and I may find this answer as I read, but what do you think of Epi and his Day 1 vote. And, what do you think of Wilgy?

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 1
A few things:
1. I see there is no polls thread (which is fine). Can someone tell me how Day 1 ended? I think I read that someone said Timmer escaped the lynch. Did he have the most votes? I don't really recall anyone suspecting him Day 1.
2. I don't see an end time for today's lynch. What is it?
3.
4. Oh, and I see a lot of role claiming out there. This game is just goodies and baddies, right? If we all claim roles, we are going to have those that tell the truth (honest civs) and those who are going to lie (baddies and crazy civs). No one can truly call out the liars with full certainty. I mean, if we are exceptional lie detectors, then maybe it could be helpful.
5.
When I play Mafia, what you see is me (usually). I am a transparent person. I will act sometimes, but not often. I CAN be a good actress, but usually with the help of a supportive team.
Epi is a good actor all on his own. When he plays Mafia, he is very different than his true self. And he can be different from game to game. In RL, he is a kind, gentle, un-confrontational soul.

Not sure on the exact number, but I do think Epi has been right about me more often. And I think I have been right about him less often. That doesn't mean he's always right :P Just you keep that in mind.timmer wrote:

Oh okay, I see. Yes. It's funny. Because even when I am bad I try to pretend to myself that I am civ and I still look for "genuine" pings. (Oftentimes there is more than one baddie team anyway.) So...I never would have come to that conclusion. I rarely lie in Mafia. Lots of times players claim my pings are made up. But they are always genuine to me even if they sound absurd to others.indiglo wrote:@ Elo, regarding #3 - It just means you were pinged by him and you were not his baddie team mate when he pinged you. Also, happy voting day to the US. If things turn out badly, I'll just stay up here in Canada.
I totally missed the Night post. RIP and WB Elo!
zebra, is it possible to get an updated thread name with day 2 as well as the time this phase ends? I see your post was at 4:47p EST yesterday, so I'll assume the poll ends tomorrow at that time, or when Trump says it ends...I'll just see myself out

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 1
There's not a lot of voting analyses to be done on day 1 because we were missing 8 votes (me included). I would like to say that Wilgy looks better in this game than he did as a baddie in the War of the Dynasties or whatever that was called. Wilgy is much less WIFOM Pie and more of a Messy Salsa this game.
I attribute that to him being antsy and ready to go after being unceremoniously lynched in Mad Max.
Not a whole lot to go on from a lot of people. I think Wilgy is attracting slight ire from people because he is the most vocal person in thread now, putting shtuff out there but then again, vocal does not a baddie make.
Elo, would a bad Epi normally kill you off if he knew you were on to him day 1?
I remember being on a baddie team with him once where he said he would rather end your time on the game if you had a lot on your plate and mafia was only getting in the way (paraphrasing, but he general idea is there). Do you think this constitutes?

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 1
I want to believe that one of the power roles afforded us is a 1-shot civ lynch stopper in timmer and not some BS kill surviving baddie. That would be a pretty weak dynamic IMO for the baddies and would expect a GF or role blocker at least. But then again, I'm not zebra, I'm only an ass
I'm putting timmer in my temporarily civ portfolio right now, and would not like to lynch him.
Timmer, any more reads besides Wilgy? Not a lot to go on, I know.

Because I don't have a lot to go on, and don't know if I'll be around before the day ends, I went ahead and placed a vote on INH. It's pretty weak reasoning, and it's just a hunch, but I'm sticking to it.

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 1
Yes, and the time this phase ends is exactly 48 hours from my post. I'd like to have that in the poll but last time it was not one hour off but like six hours and twenty minutes off, sooooooooScotty wrote: zebra, is it possible to get an updated thread name with day 2 as well as the time this phase ends? I see your post was at 4:47p EST yesterday, so I'll assume the poll ends tomorrow at that time, or when Trump says it ends...I'll just see myself out
Also, friendly reminder to all players to keep an eye on the opening post at all times.

I guess it depends on whether powers were randomly assigned or not. If they were, then Timmer being Ruben is plausible to me. I agree with Scotty that I think it was more likely a result of civ activity than a baddie who can survive lynching.
I also don't see why Epi should necessarily be suspicious for his early, reasonless vote. It's not like he has a track record of doing that as a baddie. I don't feel civ about him per se, but that vote alone isn't enough to ping me.
Wilgy, why was I orange in your list?

Do you know nothing about me? Do you really think I know the name of the game I am talking about. If only games had faces...then I could describe what it looked like or pick it out of a line-up for sure.Metalmarsh89 wrote:
Are you talking about Red vs Blue or a different game?
Yeah, if I am rather busy and and cannot really participate anyway. If I signed up b/c he asked me to in order to get the game started and the que rolling. Then he might kill me right off and put me out of my misery. BUT, this is a tiny game, and I love it. I have lots of work this week, but I'm not drowning. He knows I very much enjoy small games. So I am not too sure that he would kill me night 1. A the time, I just thought it was weird that he voted so quickly and without reason. But I think he is just overwhelmed with other things maybe. Like I said, we have a lot going on in RL right now.Scotty wrote:
Elo, would a bad Epi normally kill you off if he knew you were on to him day 1?
I remember being on a baddie team with him once where he said he would rather end your time on the game if you had a lot on your plate and mafia was only getting in the way (paraphrasing, but he general idea is there). Do you think this constitutes?
I think I have come to this conclusion myself as well. I think I know why he may have done it. I cannot reveal it at this time, I don't think. But perhaps later. As for now...I am not looking hard at him. I am having a hard time deciding who I don't trust. Wilgy would be top of my list just b/c of responses and overall tone...but of course I have shared this before. I think I can trust Scotty this game. Timmer is being helpful and I think I can trust him. DF, though he hasn't posted a whole lot seems civ to me. Heck maybe Epi was right and indiglo is bad. Or possibly one of the baddies is a low poster.DFaraday wrote:

@Daisy....have fun with your guest. Anyone we know?

Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 2
While I do appreciate the ongoing conversation, my personal opinion at this point is that Elo 2.0 cannot speak to the pings or suspicions of Elo 1.0. She is now a different role, and since there's no way to know if she remains civ, any discussion of her previous civ suspicions or pings is moot - the person who had those pings/suspicions is gone forever from the game. Anyone is (of course) free to disagree with me on that, but that's where I'm at.
Sad news: we have less than 24 hours now, and there is still not anything I feel terribly compelled to vote for.

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 2
Zebra, can we have a record of previous polls so we can actually analyse vote patterns?
Thanks.
I see people talking about the timmer lynch but it's hard to understand who vote for whom since I wasn't active day 1.

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 2
I see people talking about Timmer being a power role and I believe it's simply more likely that there is s governor in town (a role that can stop lynches). Probably some civ who was distressed at the crappy d1 we had and wanted to stop a random lynch.
I don't believe in mafia having the power to redirect lynches, nor in a role that can passively stop lynches, because that's incredibly OP for a generic game.
Though this is the first time I play a generic (classic) game in this site. Do they tend to have very powerful roles?

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 1
Wilgy comes across as a civ that upon seeing a very inactive town, decided to take the mantle. I've seen players do that before, when in other games they would be happy with staying in the sidelines.indiglo wrote:I've never seen Wilgy as real-game-talk-oriented this early in a game as he is here. I don't know if it's alignment indicative or not though.
And I agree, I think it has to be a native protection. The only other option I see as possible is if he were a baddie and someone else on the team had a save and used it. Seems most likely to me that it was a native protection, and not entirely alignment indicative.
A mafia Wilgy would have little reason to change his meta early in the game like that, and attract attention. Unless this is some sort of crazy gambit.

Couples have a mystical ability to scumhunt each other, so I'll keep that in mind. I've seen both BR and Silverwolf destroy their significant others in games before.indiglo wrote:RIP Elo, and welcome back.![]()
No one has mentioned it, so I will.
(Especially if the claimed character isn't even on the show.)
Not sure what to think about Epi myself though. He is awfully quiet in this game, but I'm not sure if that actually means anything.

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 2
Ok, let's go to the suspects.
INH has some posts that look like textbook scum. He sounds manipulative. The whole "I would vote Wilgy is I could" is pingy, following the RNG vote trend is pingy, saying there is nothing useful to read on day 1 is extra pingy.
Something is off about MM. I mean, more than usual. Can't put my finger on it. But I guess I didn't like how he said Wilgy was his top civ read out of the blue, and that question to me about Epi's bussing rubbed me the wrong way.
Indiglo still feels suspish. She is talking about game mechanics almost all the time (which is a classic tell), and her friendliness seems forced at points. She is there, and she is posting, but she is not doing much.
I should have enough time to vote tomorrow, so I'm gonna wait.

Porbably voting between MM and indiglo, because I have a bad story of going after obvious suspects in this forum and having that backfire.

Do you think it means anything that after replacing back in, she completely backed off her original Epi suspicion and pretty much did a complete 180 on him?Dragon D.
