Dude, the distancing is a good idea. Just be sure not to make it too obvious. I like the plan though. You're going to get mega civ cred!

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 2
So... yeah, that happened.
I have no concrete opinion on Epig's push against indiglo. I've seen him pull early game gambits as both civ and baddie, so whether he has a power role and found something out re: indi, or is just trying to push to see what happens, i can't tell.
@Epig, is this pure gut? Are you asking us to follow you on this? What should we think of you, if you turn out to be wrong?

I can answer that myself. He has no power role and knows absolutely nothing.
He does suffer from a severe case of Sweating My Nuts. But, never fear, he is not the first man to suffer horribly from that, nor is he the last!

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 2
That certainly couldn't be explained by the fact that someone I've known nearly 20 years just recently died in a horrible car crash, and could only be identified through DNA because of what happened to him. Nah. That really doesn't tend to affect the amount of time or passion people have for playing online games.Epignosis wrote:You're bad. I didn't see that. She was mildly suspecting him before, and she is mildly suspecting him now. Probably a little less, bit far from a 180.indiglo wrote:Do you think it means anything that after replacing back in, she completely backed off her original Epi suspicion and pretty much did a complete 180 on him?Dragon D. No one has mentioned it, so I will. Does it mean anything that she was immediately pinged by Epi, and she was obviously a civ?
@ INH - regarding roles, iirc, when the role list was up, all 3 of Kilgrave, Jessica and Luke were listed as the baddie team. I'm 95% sure that's right, because it struck me as very odd, and really stood out in my mind. She could have changed the role lineup of course, but nevertheless that's how she had it set up previously.
I am assuming that in a game like this, role claims are all not to be believed... so I'm deciding not to even think about Ruben. I've not played a closed setup game before, but for my money not believing any claim is the way to go. (Especially if the claimed character isn't even on the show.)
Not sure what to think about Epi myself though. He is awfully quiet in this game, but I'm not sure if that actually means anything.

I don't have any trouble reading DrWilgy as of late, and I have yet to be wrong about it, soDragon D. Luffy wrote:Ok, let's go to the suspects.
INH has some posts that look like textbook scum. He sounds manipulative. The whole "I would vote Wilgy is I could" is pingy, following the RNG vote trend is pingy, saying there is nothing useful to read on day 1 is extra pingy.
Something is off about MM. I mean, more than usual. Can't put my finger on it. But I guess I didn't like how he said Wilgy was his top civ read out of the blue, and that question to me about Epi's bussing rubbed me the wrong way.
Indiglo still feels suspish. She is talking about game mechanics almost all the time (which is a classic tell), and her friendliness seems forced at points. She is there, and she is posting, but she is not doing much.
I should have enough time to vote tomorrow, so I'm gonna wait.

I don't really see any substance to the Indiglo case. Looking back over INH's posts, his comments directed towards Wilgy don't sit right with me. He's calling out Wilgy for being intolerant of other people's play styles, but making his case on Wilgy for that same reason. It kind of felt like he was looking for an excuse to vote Wilgy to me.

Re: Jessica Jones S1 Mafia - Day 2
Am I making a case against Wilgy? No. Wilgy asked me if who I would change my vote to if I could. I didn't like, and I still don't like how he handled the D1 EOD. But I'm not launching a crusade against the dude.DFaraday wrote:I don't really see any substance to the Indiglo case. My ping of Wilgy wasn't because I disliked his playstyle or whatever, it's that he decided to call the D1 lynch on his own against a person for a reason that I don't find satisfactory.
That's what got my proverbial goat.
Moving forward, I'd like to see more from him and Timmer. I still don't trust Timmer's role claim and find the entire deal more fishy than anyone else. I also doubt that powers were randomly assigned to people.
Unfortunately, I may have to vote Indi out of self-preservation, which is a shame because the entire thing makes my skin crawl.
I'd honestly be flabbergasted if she was bad. This seems like the exact same thing that happened in Mad Max, and I don't like it one bit.
I'd be more open to lynching Epi for starting the whole kerfuffle in the first place.

@INH, so what qualifies as satisfactory? Randoming?
In regards to my views on INH's humorous posts that made me suspect him originally, I can sympathize. Humor is needed for life, but too much of anything can be bad. When comparing what had triggered my suspicion vs my own playstyle, I do see similarities, but there's one key difference. When I have things to contribute or a goal to achieve, I make sure that I at least voice it or accomplish my goal after the humor has passed, or even with the humor.
Humor into a random vote does not accomplish this.

And the ones who don't want to hunt bads are, by definition, bad. The only way for civilians to win this game is if people read whatever posts are available and try. Random voting produces no lynches, no leads, and no information.

Humor into a random vote does not accomplish this.
Let me see if I understand your argument, because it utterly strains credulity for me. Apparently, Wilgy uses humor to accomplish a goal or accompanies his humor with gameplay. Uh huh.
In his mind, my random D1 vote isn't gameplay, but rather me awkwardly spasming about the thread. It boggles Wilgy's mind to possibly conceive of a goal I could achieve with my utterly inept, pointless, brainless random vote that has no basis in logic or rational thought.
Let's see how Wilgy uses humor.
Spoiler: show
But I'm not Wilgy. I don't know the extreme level of thought and care he puts into each jokepost, how each snarky comment is expertly designed to trap the baddies in a web of his own making.insertnamehere wrote:i'm daredevil everybody.

Wilgy piggybacked off of my vote right before the EOD. I didn't have the chance to change my vote. Plus, weren't votes unchangeable on D1, or am I misremembering?Dragon D. After the EOD, I voiced my frustration with the results and said that I would have changed my vote if I could. Wilgy asked me who I would change it to. I said Wilgy.
This wasn't me saying "I wanna vote for Wilgy" and then not voting for him. The reason why I would have voted for him occured at the EOD. I didn't have the opportunity to. It wasn't me avoiding responsibility, it was me regretting the entire chain of events.
Maybe I'm just shit at this game, but I gleaned nothing from the Day 1 proceedings. Rather than tenuously reach for a vote that could very well be utterly wrong, I decided to randomize and continue observing, hoping that something would stand out that I could then pursue.Because the whole "day 1 is useless so I'm not gonna do anything" is the ultimate excuse for not hunting bads.insertnamehere wrote:How is randomly voting on a quiet Day 1 pingy?

I didn't want a no lynch. I didn't want no information. I wanted to see what everyone else would do, so I could hopefully generate reads after getting nothing from D1.
