I did a background check on my current age first and nope.
Also, I'm on a third world island, so the app hasn't even surfaced here.

I caught a bulbasaur in my office yesterday, took me like 10 minutes of flinging pokeballs. Thanks, tutorial.

I used some incense or something that attracted Pokémon to me for half an hour, but I only caught one in all that time.

That can't be, since I use an iPhone. But maybe you have to have the most recent iOS update? Not sure.Dom wrote:I don't think it's on iOS.

I read about what you're able to do on Facebook, but I don't have that feature and I'm updated.

For some reason that new tracking system was rolled out on the western side of the US first. I'm in Wisconsin and had to wait but I have it now. I wanna I say the Mississippi River was the cut off. I like the new tracking system but it only works for what's near a Poke stop. If there are no poke stops near enough it's back to the old way.

Oh that's right, I live on the west side of the U.S. now. Still not used to that.Sorsha wrote:For some reason that new tracking system was rolled out on the western side of the US first. Is tracking system back? I uninstalled it shortly after it was removed.Sorsha wrote:For some reason that new tracking system was rolled out on the western side of the US first. Yes it's back. It doesn't show how many steps away a monster is, but it shows what's at the nearest Pokestops.Cryptonic wrote:Is tracking system back? I agree that it works well. It usually tells me that the monster has fled but if you get there soon enough it's usually still there.
Re: Pokemon GO
This past Sunday I went on a Pokémon Go meet up/gym battle with other players in my area and on the same team. Probably the nerdiest thing I've ever done.
It was interesting though seeing what some of the other players are like in person. All the way from the dorks who obviously still live in their moms basement, to professional looking adults to older, almost retiree aged.
Being able to take down an opposing teams level 10 gym in a couple minutes was fun

I do not play Pokemon, but I do live around the corner from this business:

He's an artist who does silk screen, commission art, tees, etc. He does art classes for local kids, too. I pass this building on the way to work every day. I thinkhe has all of the Pokemon painted on the building and he is a Pokestop.

That's freaking awesome! I'm pretty sure there's a regular group that gets together like that here in San Antonio, but I'm always so busy. One of these days maybe I can join them.Sorsha wrote:This past Sunday I went on a Pokémon Go meet up/gym battle with other players in my area and on the same team. That looks so cool!!!!
The synagogue where I work is a gym. For a brief shining moment I had one of my pokemon there, but I got kicked out. It's level 10 and on my team, so I shall likely never get back. Alas.

I did something similar last month. Traveled to Sao Paulo and went to a VGC (video game championship), a pokemon tournament on 3DS.Sorsha wrote:This past Sunday I went on a Pokémon Go meet up/gym battle with other players in my area and on the same team. Probably the nerdiest thing I've ever done.

I felt more like an athlete for doing that than in all the other times I tried to play sports, since I suck at them all. But pokemon is a strategy game, so that was an afternoon of thinking and trying to outsmart the same kind of dorks you just described.
I got second-to-last place in the end, but now I'm practicing to get better at it. My nerd senses are screaming, but so far I've been able to ignore them and keep playing pokemon.
