Are you new to The Syndicate's mafia crime family? If so, introduce yourself here! For all Syndicateers, this is the place to get to know your fellow family members.
LOL, oh my days. I started a new job last week and was on the phones all day today. You are literally the 8th person to say that to me today. xD
I suppose it makes sense, because with where I live I'm supposed to sound a bit like a farmer. Strange really.
Thank you guys.
I think juliets said she needed to get a mic, but I shall pester her in IRC until she does!!!

Ambray wrote:You sound like you should be on the radio Alex!!
Wow, some of you sound so different than what I was expecting, then others just what I thought. Perhaps I imagine a majority of you to be English sounding in my head? xD
But wowsers. Cool thread.
DP led me to this on IRC and subsequently led me to play with my settings and destroy my speakers, haha. So this is RE that. xD
Ambray! You sound so awesome!!!!! I shall heed your "Do not trust DP" warning to my grave!

goosey!!! You have a lovely voice! Very suited to reading aloud tbh. I could listen to you read all sorts of things.
Thanks so much! In college, I volunteered at the local Radio Reading Service, where you read newspapers on the air to the blind and visually impaired. I did well at that, so they let me record a book to be aired (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). It took a year to record.
Luckily, I had success with that, so I got a job at the local NPR affiliate, announcing classical music and giving traffic and weather reports. Yay!

Thanks so much for the nice comments, bea!!
I would LOVE to hear you read Order of the Phoenix! *faints*
Also - you worked for NPR? Omg sooo jealous!!! I want to listen to you in the car every day!!! (Really - in the 2 years I've lived out here - my car radio has moved from NPR exactly 2 times. Both were because bad weather knocked out the NPR tower for a few hours.)
I was born to speak all mirth and no matter....

Logan! I had no idea you sounded like that!!! Awesome!!!
I love this thread so very much!
The accent is fake. No one must hear my true voice!

I was about to call shenanigans.
I knoooooow! I wondered what his game was.
I should have done a Manchester accent, but I didn't want to sound like a thug.

You've got to do it! I love impersonating the Manc accent! (Although I'm better at doing Lucy Punch).
I do a Yorkshire, Liverpool and Summerset, but have never actually practiced a Manc one. I just wanted to take a cheap shot at James because it is easy and fun.

I do it ALL the time.
Have you ever seen that clip of Lucy Punch doing all the English accents in what go? It was on that terrible show Ben & Kate or whatever. I'l ltry to find a clip. I was very impressed.
Since I've been lurking around this thread (because I love voices ^___^) and because I'm feeling a bit high/hit by a train from all those nais pills, here's this: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1dgbPiJRdLb
I'm sure most of you will recognise the masterpiece.
Also, don't quote it. I might remove when I'm sober and realise I hate it.

I command you with the power of the mongoose not to remove this soundbyte until I get home and can listen!
Mongoose wrote:Also Matt: Do you not have a mic in your laptop?
no, there used to be a headset but it's broken now. I could try using my headphones as a mic but i'm not sure how it will work, and there is nowhere private enough to record anything anyway.
Mongoose wrote:I love that we have all just witnessed Vompers' first (and certainly not last) engagement with Lizzy's voice.
Also Lizzy: I promise to record the next time I'm sick. I'll be able to do my Ole Hag, Steven Tyler, and Marlon Brando voices for you then.
Also Matt: Do you not have a mic in your laptop?
Yussssss! Although, I must say I have a very hard time imaging that. Oh come on! Don't make me wish you were sick.
Butt, I can do a pretty decent Eddie Izzard and some Ian Anderson.
Lizzy and Vomp were in a house.
Vomp's a wombat, he's not a mouse.
Lizzy sounded cute with lovely hair.
Vomp sounded peachy and rather debonair.
They dined together on craft beer and dead cows.
