Yes if I had to guess who will get lynched in the hatch I would say sig.
llama i had forgotten that you made that point about soneji and it's something I will consider. I definitely remember his comment about meta being a crutch.
I am about to call it a night but will be back in the morning. I'll be here for a few more minutes.

How much did Soneji post? It was somewhere around an 8-hour window between when Mac's name came up and the day ended. Did Soneji post in that timeframe?thellama73 wrote:One of my observations that prisoner didn't see was that Soneji was posting, but never mentioned Mac and was never mentioned by Mac, one of the only active players where that was the case. One of Soneji's relvevent posts described relying on meta analysis as "a crutch." Meta analysis is what did Mac in.
As of this moment, I think Soneji looks the most like a bad guy of anyone here.
To answer Made's question, I bet it will either be Sig or Wilgy.
Your crutch point reminds me of that post and tells me that he did post in that window. I do wish we could view the Day 1 thread though. This is most unfortunate.

Juliets looks and feels very town here on the beach. I doubt she will get my vote.
Bea and Boomslang are both total question marks. I hope that this smaller format helps them at least participate more actively in the discussion today.
I remember the Soneji post in question, but my sources also tell me he's generally a player that avoids meta reads regardless of alignment. I have not reviewed his posts closely and can't offer a read one way or the other. Let's see how he responds today.

We can either squabble over what we remember each of us saying or use the only info we have available right now- the day 1 poll- as our guide. Since I scant remember much of boom or John Coltrane from day 1, I'm probably going to vote for one of them. Depending on whose vote looks most iffy.

The addendum is that it's either people I have a good grasp on based on their presence in the thread, or people I don't remember participating. Unfortunately. And the phone book is the voting records.

Re: 2016 Game of Champions - Beach
I remember that John Coltrane made a jokey post about catching up then soon after made another that I was pretty impressed by BUT I CAN'T FREAKING RECALL WHAT HE SAID grrrr.
OK, the other group has most of the sketchy people in it. But this is what I remember on a few people.
bea~ made one big post about how Quin and Made were getting a bad rap, then went on to talk about how me, LC, and ??? seemed normal to her. And that's it. I asked her about this, she did not reply. No suspicions I can recall and she missed the vote.
Cheerleader~ I didn't play the game. Sounds super complex. Did I gather correctly that Epi might be powering this person? Or did I woefully misinterpret what was explained about that game?
Golden~ felt good about him from the get go based on my perception of what happened with Wilgy and my thoughts on that. I figured, when I heard Goldens reply to him that Golden was someone who had gotten a civ role card. Other than that though, most of his thoughts were pretty opposite mine which does NOT make him bad, but I do notice it. The reveal showing baddies DID get a game notches Golden back from "definitely civ" in my book to "civ" based on impressions. Kinda obsessive over socks, but I think that is normal for him, I recall him always doing that in sock games. So overall a good feel for him.
John Coltrane~ under my radar for the most part, except that one post he made that I liked about something I can't recall, lol. Don't get old, people. Cherish those brain cells while you have them.
juliets~ pretty standard Jules. No one has pushed her into a corner as of yet and I have a fairly hard time reading her unless that happens.
Made~ He was my top suspicion after Wilgy while I was reading back while we were still in the other thread based solely on feel. Him coming in and saying, "Let's talk about the other thread" solidified that for me a bit. My guess is we have at least one Mafia in each group and they are comparing notes about who says what, so spending time early talking about the other thread helps the baddies, not us, since when (if?) we come back together, they will already know everything that happened in each thread presuming they kept BTSC. I think we need to work with what we have, and then if time allows talk about the Hatch folk, since based on who has said what, most of the people most of us suspected are in that group.
And will finish this a bit later at work, gotta go!!

Re: 2016 Game of Champions - Beach
I'll try to give somewhat of a read on people here as kind of a starting point for our time together in this thread.
I feel good about Golden. He reminds me of a civ Golden, everywhere all the time posting his thoughts. I will say though I can't remember how a bad Golden acts so I don't know how good my read is. For our purposes here though I wouldn't vote for someone silenced so he's off the plate for me. (Why would a civ silence Golden? Makes me think the silencing power is a baddie).
Scotty - feeling good about Scotty and since I don't have his posts to go back to all I can do is say it's vibes. I did like his points about Quin, whether Quin is bad or not the points were insightful.
llama - I feel like I'm seeing the llama I saw in Felt, good llama. His early instincts were good there too which makes me pay attention to what he has to say about Soneji. He linked us to the baddie Mac game which showed Mac making the same kind of short choppy posts he was making in this game, thus solidifying my read. I won't be voting for llama unless something pretty radical happens here.
Metalmarsh - I was initially unsure about MM because he posted a lot at the beginning of the game that said nothing. I didn't consider him for a lynch because it seems like he often gets lynched early for this very thing. I feel like he has blossomed though starting with his posts about Mac's past games going through to when we split the thread.
S~V~S - I can't read S~V~S with a toot, she is too good at this for my meager powers. I haven't seen anything thats caused me any concern though. Her observation about Wilgy asking Golden about Monkey Island was right on point until we discovered the mafia had games on their role card at which point she conceded.
Prisoner - I wish I knew who Prisoner is to help me with my read. I haven't agreed with her on everything but that doesn't mean she is bad. She has been very involved and doesn't seem tentative about giving her opinion no matter whether they match the group or not. I tend to agree with llama who observed that Prisoner wouldn't have changed her opinion about Mac at the last minute if she were Mac's teammate. For now I have a positive reaction to Prisoner.
Made - Epi said he felt Made was working hard to not seem bad after having been bad in Felt. I don't know what he saw that led him to this conclusion (maybe if he's cheerleader he can tell us) though and just because Epi was good it doesn't mean Made is bad. I had an initial bad gut reaction when he wouldn't tell us the game he was from but I don't play in many closed games so maybe keeping what you know close to the vest is important. I wish S~V~S could remember more of why her feel for Made was bad. Right now he's a null read for me.
bea - only a few posts and aside from what S~V~S said the only thing I remember about bea is she was busy and is sick. Not much help here. Wish she had voted. Null read for me.
cheerleader - if this is really Epi's spirit, maybe he can put his two cents in to the discussion. I'm not sure how this entity worked in transistor but I'm probably going to go back to the game and see what I can glean. Given that it's not a person, if I have to default to someone because no one is striking me as particularly bad I could see voting for cheerleader. It really depends on how helpful s/he is.
Sonja, Boomslang, Coltrane - I'm lumping all of these guys together because I see them much the same way. Low posters, not offering much. I already talked about Booms and my observation that his posts so far don't seem engaged with the game compared to past games he's been in and I wasn't wild about his randomized vote on a day when there was plenty to look at and vote on. Soneji from my memory also has few posts and has that one post about meta being a crutch in the heat of the Mac lynch - not a good look. And Coltrane also hasn't participated much and was the last voter for Mac, potentially piling on as a teammate. I could vote for any of these three at the moment and may place a pressure vote on one of them today depending on how things go.
Hope I didn't forget anyone, if I did I'll catch them in a later post.

Re: 2016 Game of Champions - Beach
I forgot Donna Meagle. She too hasn't posted much but to my memory she has posted more than Booms/Soneji/Coltrane. I get the impression she is trying to role play the Meagle role from Parks and Rec so that's interfering with my read. Right now I'd say she's a null read for me.

Coltrane has given no one any reason to trust him. I don't have a specific ping about him like I do against Soneji, but he definitely has work to do if he wants to stick around. I'd say the same for Donna Meagle, who appears to not be trying at all.

Interesting - Donna Meagle is not on the poll unless I'm just looking at it wrong. I wonder if that has to do with the thing about Pisces not having anything to worry about today.

I am a fire sign, and tend to get along best with other fire signs. Maybe that's why I am not liking Meagle's game.

Now see, Donna Meagle is another one that was quiet and said not much then posted a few big posts during the night phase, but I don't recall anything specific she said.

Re: 2016 Game of Champions - Beach
Iirc one of her posts was a quote of llama's sig case with indication that she supported what he was saying. I don't recall what her other posts were, they didn't really make an impression. Since she's not on the poll in here though I'm not going to consider her anymore today. I will however take note of what she says in here just in case we can't reference this thread once we get back to the main thread.S~V~S wrote:Now see, Donna Meagle is another one that was quiet and said not much then posted a few big posts during the night phase, but I don't recall anything specific she said.
Yes Marmot, agreeing with llama I would like to know who you think John Coltrane is. If I agree with your assessment I might not vote for him.

Ok, I went back to the game but it didn't help much. It appears to be based on a video game which I'm not familiar with. If you are Epi you can be helpful and I don't want you gone. I'm not sure if we lynched you if we would be lynching the Process and I'm not sure if the Process is a good or bad being. Better to just go with my first inclination which right now is to vote for either Booms, Soneji or Coltrane. I'll follow the inclination of those who played Transistor where you are concerned.Cheerleader wrote:I am a cheerleader. Go team!juliets wrote:I'm sure someone is but it's not me. The Cheerleader is on the Process' team most likely, which means whichever team he/she was once on (be it Mac or Epi), they no longer are.
One of the people here is most likely to be The Process.
Lynching a symptom of the Process will only kill that symptom, not the Process. But every night the Process will be able to activate another sock puppet that has a special ability. If we lynch the Process, all the puppets die too.
Or, JJJ/Daisy is trolling us and there is no Process and instead this is just some random gimmick. I'd like to believe not, though.

The only suspect of mine from D1 in here is Made, though I can't remember what exactly pinged me. Probably something similar to Made's post in here about speculating whose getting lynched in the other thread when it is irrelevant to who gets lynched here.

As for my meta comments, it was in regards to Golden talking about figuring out who had the sock puppet roles. I prefer to focus on who is scummy from a general standpoint as meta analysis has more potential flaws, due to IRL factors, someone wanting to try something new, a stretch of bad games affecting posting behavior, etc. I have seen a lot of players get lynched/killed for meta reads that didn't pan out.
Meta is a crutch as it means you can't catch said person in any kind of slip or make a convincing case that their behavior is scummy on its own. It is a tool that can be used to scumhunt but I'd never rely on it.] aubergine
