It happens. Look at me and Nev in Thomas, or Rey and... either Typh or DH (I can't remember which!) in Lost. Generally the idea is one gets lynched and the other is so clearly a civ because what baddie would ever go after their own teammate so hard. Re: Homestar Runner [Day 3]
OK MP, sorry I did find where I said I thought Hedgie was sincere in her defense of herself. So first I got a ping from her for her vote and then when she explained it, I thought her defense sounded sincere. I wasn't the only one - you felt this way yourself. So on this item I don't understand what seems insincere - that I found her defense suitable? And how does finding her defense sincere make me a baddie?

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 2]
Hedgeowl I just did a re-read of you to look for any other evidence besides your vote that might give me another ping. Doing so I ran across this post and I wonder if you could explain the line I've underlined. How and when and where did Bullz give you this feedback? Was it in the thread and I have just missed it?
Hedgeowl wrote:I guess that is partly what I am struggling with right now. How does anyone explain a Day 1 vote without it sounding weak? The top vote getters were Bullz, Elo, and Vomps. I didn't have suspicions on anyone for Day 1 and everyone else had voted as the only voter for other roles knowing none of these people would be lynched and therefore they wouldn't feel responsible. Even MP claimed this with his vote for Vomps. Although he was the 2nd voter.
My decision was do I vote for someone and throwaway my vote because I know they wont die? Sure, I could have done that, but I decided to see what happened if I tied the vote. (I have since been informed by Bullz, that Epi only does this in polls and its not normal. But Epi has hosted 2 of the 7 games I have played or am playing so its my "normal"). That's it really. I was hoping no one would die and we'd get more time, but of course I knew I would be a target the moment we all learned who Elohcin was. I understand why everyone thinks I could be her teammate and I have said this from the beginning.
If you lynch me I totally get it and no hard feelings, but certain roles might want to save a rezz for me later. (Doh! That's Dom's game. There appear to be no rezzs in this game)
YOU DO NOT WANT TO LYNCH ME!

FYI to those who care, I think I've got this so no more shenanigans.
Llama, what is your opinion of CBK, who broke the tie between you and Devin by voting for you in the last poll? Do you think there could be a connection between CBK and Devin? Do you think SVS could be right, and MP and CBK are on a team? Do you find it odd that MP does not want to vote Devin, even though saying he could very well be a baddie?
Since I feel clueless in this game so far, I am looking forward to your answers, since I very well believe you to be civvie.

First I'm not really a less verbal person but I do see the llama & BDH situation as you do. My read is he is his normal sarcastic self (llama that is).S~V~S wrote:Because to be totally honest, I am not seeing a baddie Llama, like not AT ALL. And there is a very serious push against him, and I am not really seeing why. It's mostly "meh" tone stuff and Wifomy woulda/coulda stuff.
I have read all of the cases and they seem kinda contrived, like the people writing them WANT Llama to be bad. I don't think llama sounds bad, I don't think BDH sounds bad. I don't necessarily thing they sound civ, but seriously, I am not seeing the overt baddieism many of you seem to be.
or maybe thats the more vocal people? Less vocal people, what is your opinion?
I DO think Hedgeowl sounds bad. Why exactly did y'all just say "OK, Hedgie, we buy your defenses" on Day Two? It isn't very clear to me in the posts. Or again, is this just the more vocal people?
Secondly, I am one of the people who accepted Hedgie's defense about her vote. I just went back through her posts and though there was one little thing I hadn't explored I'm still not seeing anything besides that vote that makes her bad. Did you see something else that I may have missed or do you think her defense was just bs and her vote shows her guilt?

Devin I don't think is bad. I don't see a baddie acting like him, and he said his playstyle is inspired by people like Lizzy and Dex who tend to act crazy as civs.
Thank you for noticing. Others seem to ignore the blatantly obvious.![]()

I don't know. I am generally nervous about people who pop in once every few days, say one thing and then leave. It is a really easy thing for baddies to do, especially when you have furious walls of text being flung back and forth like we have in this game. I did vote for CBK on Day 1, so it's possible it was just a revenge votes. I don't really find it odd that MP won't vote for Devin, because he is determined to vote for me regardless of what else happens. The more I see of Devin, the less I think he is bad, to be honest.Matt F wrote:FYI to those who care, I think I've got this so no more shenanigans.

I wanted to cut this down, but I think the full quote is better.
You are intentionally misinterpreting what MP is saying. He said it is a different REASON as to why he finds you bad. So he was saying in that third paragraph that he still finds you bad.
I'm starting to feel you're twisting words that MP is using against you. He's not cleared yet by any means in my book, but I think you've made your way up there in terms of players I will be looking at today.![]()
Completely random thought, David. I have been trying to follow along on his facebook page, but if Devin Townsend announces tour dates and I just happen to miss it, please let me know. I would very much enjoy another semi-short road trip to see his epicness live again![]()
Also, I pre-ordered the remastered Strapping Young Lad boxset back in the spring, and it finally came in the mail yesterday! Really excited about that one!!!!

The more I think about MP (just now, mowing the lawn) the more I am starting to lean baddie on him. His indignation on day 1 saying he is trying to change his game and he is fed up of being lynched as a civ straight away could easily be him being bad saying that.
But if he was bad would he he so relentless in his pursuit of llama? idk

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 3]
Hai!
Here's what I have today:
1. The Sock seems to have toned down, but I'm still keeping an eye on him.
2. Llama's attitude is slightly different from the other games I've seen him play where he was a civ. Then we have this: he managed to avoid being lynched - this could mean a lot of things, among which two potential roles - Homsar and Cheerleader. Now then, if we go back to the Mario game, his role was unfortunately very out in the open and the baddies figured it out almost immediately. Could be the case here; could be not. If he were Homsar, the Girl Squad, although 3 or less, would have taken this into consideration and finish him off like in the Mario game, because it's a very strong civ role. Butt, no-one died last night at the hand of the grils. So, if we were to follow this logic, they did not go after Llama, because he's one of their own (see above) and perhaps targeted someone immune to NK's. Obviously, this is just a theory, butt, I'm tempted to test it to see if Llama survives another lynching.
3. I finally have a Trogdor suspect.
Again, just theory, thinking what I would have done if I were him. Now then, if I were Troggy, not knowing that there would not be any future public polls for choosing the huts, I would have voted for a hut that was not crowded and chose that same hut for incineration, knowing that I would not die and knowing that the players, up to that point, do not know about this aspect. Thus, there were 3 (three) people who voted for Warrior: Bullz, Alan aaaaaaaaaand DP. The first two got incinerated. I suspected Alan for a while, before he died the died the other day. So yus! There's my suspect and my logic. Must be all the drugs I've been taking and lack of food. Also, DP's been VERY quiet lately k

Well... I haven't taken any drugs and have eaten fairly well, and I came to the same conclusion. I just didn't want to share it just yet because I thought it was too crazy a theory and very possibly wrong. Re: Homestar Runner [Day 3]
Bea, I just can't fathom how anyone doesn't see BDH's posts as purposefully twisting my words. Seriously. Just read them, especially his last few, for me. They are so pretzel-twisting it’s not even funny. That is why I think he is baddie. I honestly had no read on him until just recently, and it’s become very apparent to me that this is a newbie baddie we have here; he is exhibiting so many of the classic symptoms: pretzel word manipulation, laser beam focus (refusing to even talk about anything or anyone else other than me, and coming to llama's subtle defense -- how do you think it is that he has NO opinion of llama, even after I pressed him?), and do I even have to mention how no one has asked if he is coached? I wonder why?
The fact that llama says I won’t rest until he’s dead is just SO NOT TRUE. It’s actually starting to piss me off, so I think I’m done on the topic, and leaving the thread for now after this post.
Thus, Bea, as to my suspicion of llama, I've said enough, but to summarize: I believe he has been manipulating the thread as much as possible and I tried to substantiate that with specific reasons.
Also, I have to echo the sentiment from Matt F. This game has been frustrating, overwhelming, and certainly intense at times, but it’s some of the most fun I’ve had in a mafia game in a LONG time. Really loving it. Truly.
I'm honestly just flabbergasted at all of this. I've said everything I can on the matter. If players still think that I am the one that's being closed-minded, then I don't know what else to say; I find it ridiculous.
In fact, I’m done with this. Everyone, just vote for me already. At least it will clear my intentions so that the civvies will gain information. I really think it would be foolish to lose my role, but it seems certain players in this game won’t rest until they get me dead and misrepresent all of my intentions, so I’m done. If you really want me to elaborate, I’ve done MORE than enough, read back through my posts. There’s no point in me saying anymore about llama or anyone else.
Apparently I can't ever play as a civvie without players consistently misreading my intentions from Day 1, so let's end this. Vote for me now and all of my intentions will be revealed. If you really doubt my intentions, vote for me.
I will be back tomorrow to vote, but I likely will be voting llama or BDH, because I can't fathom how they are civvie this game. I tried being logical and understanding, but I really can't. Llama especially has been consistently nefarious.

That's ironic, considering I haven't even voted for llama, that I am trying to encourage discussion on llama AND OTHERS, that I said multiple times I am not even sure of llama, just that it is the best thing I have at the moment and what I am currently feeling, strongly so. I have a slight ping on Mongoose that won't go away. I don't trust A Person as far as I can throw him, because I think his Hut Strategy was something that would only benefit baddies. Has Disgruntled Porcupine posted in a while? I can't remember seeing anything from him in days. I know thta is fairly typical for him, but I'm starting to worry about baddies hiding behind all the discussion. I'm really not certain about anyone though, which is disconcerting. I enjoyed having such a strong opinion in Into The Woods, especially when I turned out to be right. I wish I had that confidence this game.

MP, I suggest you read my posts today, and Llama's response to my posts, then think about it, then come back.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 3]
What? Cryptic is right. Somehow you've made a conclusion without explanation, appeared to get a response from llama's confusion, and suddenly turned on someone else other than llama? Could you explain/quote what you mean by being picked for the football team? And if you recognize here that you're probably wrong, why do you then pretty much threaten anyone who continues to suspect llama? I'm just really confused why anyone should be so sure of what you're saying.Matt F wrote:
I can't explain it, but I'm suddenly getting a civvie vibe from Llama. MoPi, let me ask you a question,
how do you suppose we were picked for the football team? What connects us?
Obviously, both of us have suspected Llama. I don't see anything else, really.
Maybe someone is trying to send us a message?
Even though I could be wrong, I usually am, I find it interesting of all the players, we got the call.
Silly me, being all cryptic and whatnot.
As a side note, I've already mentioned that I dont trust llama or MP. I voted for llama, because I didn't get any of the stuff against Devin at the time, and I thought llama was bad even before the vote came down.
Honestly, I'm pretty confused by Devin. He wasn't even on my radar at first, which is why the votes against him came across as suspect to me. I may have to look back for details.
I really don't know either about the Snow/Bullz/info/rezz thing. (It took me a few posts even to realize what was going on when he came back, haha). I could see how coming out w/ "info" would be too big a risk for a baddie, but I could also see how taking advantage of the info assumptions could be a cover for looking good. I really don't know, and the rezz makes it more complicated. The fact is, we don't know the exact conditins of either the info or the rezz, so it's all speculation. It would take examining posts/motives again.
Other than llama, I have really started to suspect MP, but I don't fully understand it yet. I just don't know. Some of his points make a lot of sense to me, so it seems really suspicious that other poeple are completely poopooing them. For example, MP made one point about the people that llama was accusing and then dropping, like they were diversions. That was a good point, but no one seemed to recognize that. And I have already mentioned that I just don't trust the level of groupthink that seemed to be happening about the time of the animal sanctuary. Maybe I should go back and look at that. And I am glad that someone suggested that MP and llama could be totally playing off each other, because that would make all this make more sense to me. Either MP is civvie and is taking a huge risk by hounding llama, or MP and llama are both baddies and MP knows it/ they both know it.

Hold on, Matt F, I think I might know what you mean, but I'm not sure.
Sorry, I get your question now. I'm not playing because I didn't want to bother and thought I might die anyway, and didn't feel my opponent was all that baddie. I fear I can't say more than that.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 3]
I could be down for a BDH vote tomorrow. That dog, as they say, won't hunt. This is entirely speculation, but I wonder if he is coming onto you with the intensity he is in order to keep you from stumbling onto New & Fresh Ideas. I wonder if you were leading the thread down the right path and this is one baddie group's way of keeping you off that trail. What better way to do this than we a newbie, and my reason for this is dichotimized: a) we will give him the BOTD for a few days because he is new; and b) since he is new, we don't know his playstyle and idiosyncrasies, so he's harder to read.MovingPictures07 wrote:Bea, I just can't fathom how anyone doesn't see BDH's posts as purposefully twisting my words.

I'm not ready to vote Llama yet. The uber-early voting was weird, but odd doesn't equal bad necessarily. But odd, yes. That whole situation has reached an Area 51 level of weirdness. He keeps dying on Day 1 in pretty much all the games we've been in together (quit doing that, by the way!) so I don't know firsthand if this is even unusual behavior for our favorite pack animal.

Matt F, let's just say I was not wanting to vote Devin because I interpreted his behavior to fit a certain role. I'm no longer certain this is true, considering I very well may have been wrong in my analysis of other players.
I want to hear what you, llama, and others think of Devin and Mongoose... and Hedgeowl.

Sorry to everyone for so many posts; don't worry, my lunch break is just about over... but I'm really starting to question what I was interpreting... Dammit. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 3]
Someone (I forgot who but I'm not mining through the thread to find out) asked if i had anything to add to the current conversation(s), and I really don't. We're approaching 1300 posts and there have been so many accusations and rebuttals and walls of text that I've only skimmed that I don't feel I have a real grasp on the game at this point, and I'm not sure what I could add that help anyone. So far in the game I've felt that the tone of several people felt a bit off at times in this game, and I don't think it's just me because people have alluded to a similar feeling several times. I also am not sure how to interpret the way events have taken place in this game either with so many people practically begging to be killed.
To further prove my point, since I started typing this there have been nearly twenty (20(!)) more posts.
