Hello All!
I am going with Scientist.
How do YOU intend to forge a civilian victory?JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I'm open to other map requests, but I want to know how y'all intend to forge a civilian victory in this game if you are entrusted with it.
I am going with Scientist.
Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...
I've won a lot of games. I've hosted some games. The end.

I voted Mutant, in the hopes that I would get a job not unlike the X-Men.
Anyways, leaving for camp soon (less than an hour). If Day 1 is starting tonight, then take it easy on posting and I will catch up tomorrow over a light lunch.

@sprityo, what happens to the map if the player holding it dies?

Hi everyone. Apologies for dumb questions ahead of time, I will be asking them all game and for games to come too.
DO NOT GIVE ME THE MAP, I REPEAT, DO NOT GIVE ME THE MAP.
Alright, now that I got the reverse psychology argument out of the way, should we try to coordinate the poll votes, or would that be against the spirit of the game? And would there be a benefit in doing so? I am guessing not much aside from pissing off the mod.
You guys call the mod the host here from what I gather, right?
What is BTSC?
What is Civ or Civilian? Is that like a regular townie?

I don't think there's anything wrong with that notion. The host already declared that this Day 0 post is just for fun though and not relevant. Do you mean poll votes in later phases?Silver Lantern wrote:Alright, now that I got the reverse psychology argument out of the way, should we try to coordinate the poll votes, or would that be against the spirit of the game? Yeah same thing. We have a separate term "MoD" (Moderator on Duty) with the specific purpose of mediating disputes and keeping the peace.Silver Lantern wrote:You guys call the mod the host here from what I gather, right?
Behind the scenes communication. This is the typical communicative advantage of the mafia team and sometimes civilians have it too in limited capacity.Silver Lantern wrote:What is BTSC?

There's no non-player option for this poll! Does that mean I can vote too?
Because we all know CEO is the shit. Once you get past the inordinate amount of pressure from investors, regulators, and debtors, that is. But you're like the king. The king of a god damn company. What's cooler than that?

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 0 - Out of the Frying Pan
So if day 1 starts tonight I believe that means we have to have map votes in by 10pm EST today (a little over 6 hours from now).
I liked the way LC nominated himself, and I want to trust him I think. Though the way he worded it also felt like a preemptive safeguard against future suspicion on him. But I think that's fine.
I also feel super good about JJJ now. Super civ leader mode, strong green aura
And I always want to trust Golden but I'm a little more wary of him fooling me.
I think my map vote will be one of those... unless I decide to be more secretive about it, which may be a good decision seeing as the map disappears if the owner is killed
(I'm assuming based on the description of items in the rules, and because the votes are private, that the recipient will not be publicly announced)

Marmots have the benefit of not being men, and having a wonderful sense of direction, and a map-reading ability second to none! For decades now, humans have entered the wilderness with their maps. While they sleep at night, we come out and study their maps and retain the knowledge.Sorsha wrote:None of the men should get the map.
But I did get a ping from this. Most of this was already discussed, and what isn't just doesn't feel particularly helpful.

Phenon Mafia: Day 1 - And Into the Fire
Day 1: And Into the Fire
Shortly after being left to their lonesome, the Passengers agree on who was to be given the Map. The discussions was awkward and didn’t amount to much aside speculations and accusations to be thrown every which way, but with the night coming ever closer, they knew that they would be stopped and head off to bed, leaving the worrisome day behind them. Or so they hoped….
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eugene Gamma sipped at a cup of hot tea he had made. It was actually quite a disgusting cup of tea. He grumbled that it tasted like “complete shit,” but sipped at it since it was something other than alcohol that had flavor. Eugene at this point in the afternoon had retreated to his personal room, located in the entirety of Car No.1. The reinforced walls covered in plush red velvet at least reminded him of his home estate back on the outskirts of New York City, New York. With the wealth he had, he was able to afford such luxuries like a reinforced rail car with electronic locking doors. The Gamma Corporation owner spared no expense on himself, especially in times like these. He reads a small wrinkled piece of paper that he had used to collect the names of the passengers and who they wanted to give the Map to. Eugene made a note to himself to pass the Map off discreetly when no one would notice, as to provide anonymity among everyone. From there, Eugene retrieves a written contract from a drawer near his lounge chair, returning to the chair to sit and read over it for what seemed the hundredth time.
“Dear Mr.Gamma, all of us here at The Federation are thoroughly delighted that you have agreed to take part in our offer. If anyone could do it, it would be you! Attached to this document you will find a list of stops to arrive at. Our agents will work behind the scenes to assure that the right people are in the right place at the right time. We will as well be sending an operative along to board with the passengers, but he will appear as everyone else so you need not worry about him. Your task is to shuttle these people around the country until our operative finds the high value targets. Should he fail, we have a backup plan. As promised once your end of the deal has been fulfilled we will give you exclusive permission to interact with the North American Vault and have full control of their trading. We look forward to hearing from you again.”
The paper had had the signature ripped off in its travel to his office so it was unsure just who exactly sent it. Eugene reflected upon the passengers and their worried faces, he was a little soft at heart, driven by a desire for glory, and this whole thing seemed wrong. At the same time though, the cost of a few lives as opposed to tens of thousands more saved appealed more to his troubled mind and he set his conscience to rest once again for the time being. He stands up and walks over to his camera wall, where which all the rooms are displayed with their various hidden cameras. He can observe every single person at any time with these. He pulls out his watch again, checking the time. “Not much longer now….Let’s see how this goes.” Eugene takes another sip of his tea before promptly smashing the delicate cup onto the ground in disgust, shattering it into many small pieces. “This is going to be a long week.”

Since we can't go west, north it is!
I've already got the map memorized, now off to hibernate.

No map for me
I've never been voted to get anything like that. Maybe one day.

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 1 - And Into the Fire
I wouldn't have chosen to say this in a vacuum, but since I already said I didn't get the map...
I did get the map. I was just impatient and assumed the PM had gone elsewhere.
It doesn't feel massively helpful, but it does enable me to turn the compass directions on this poll (and others) into specific locations. If we go to a location that turns out to be favourable, I might be able to help us get back there. It looks like you can't get everywhere from everywhere, though. For now, it's meaningless to me.
Thanks to those who trusted me. It genuinely is the first time I've been elected to get one of these! I assumed it had gone to Jay.

North-east because I like a little of everything.
Lynch: Scotty
His support of me in the map business looked fake. Also I appreciate those who entrusted the map to me, I will do my best to live up the appropriate standard.

Yo Sorsha, you chummed up with the ladies based on game-irrelevant stuff to pursue the map. Did you care about the alignment of its recipient?Sorsha wrote:None of the men should get the map. You all won't use it anyway, you'll get us lost and then won't ask for directions![]()
It should go to Nutella, Eloh or me.
I'm chosing survivor.
