So the losing tribe's players are the ones up for elimination then, I guess.Golden wrote:We better win this thing. I don't want to vote any of you off. I love my tribe already.
I have to say I am digging this set-up already. I really like that there are just 9 of us in this thread. Let's win all the challenges and get rid of the other tribe first before we must turn on one another.

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Day 1]
Did the competitors have to do anything else, other than send in what they were doing?
Do we just need to wait for an update?
Is this the point where we are just impatient and cheer our team on?
I wish we knew how we had done with time totals in parts 1 through 3...and how the other team had done in those parts, for that matter.
Go team!!

Phase will end in a little over an hour.
Leg 4 is currently underway. Don't you worry!
Also a reminder to send me names in the next hour for potential BTSC during the night phase! I don't have very many.

Actually... I'm pretty strong so I got a little boost that my heavy shots were a 100% success (wasn't told until I was almost done shooting or I would have mentioned it). And I don't tire as quickly so I'm not as worried about spending energy in the beginning of the game. It's only an early game advantage for me so that I can help my team out in group challenges. So I GOTCHU team. Ready to propel us through these big challenges and do work around camp!DharmaHelper wrote:I feel like we must have gotten uncannily lucky with some of our legs. Re: Survivor: Mafia [Day 1]
"Boom Boom Boom"

Elo and Wilgy worked on the fire, and barely eeked out a spark which grew into a nice fire!
Speedchuck, INH, Boomslang and OptOutside got busy building a McMansion out of the bamboo. They built a nice shelter that should last at least a few days!
LoRab retrieved water!
DH and Golden went fishing and DH only caught enough for himself.
After settling down successfully, the tribe got to work on the immunity challenge before them. At the same time, the other tribe, Atamai, showed up at the challenge beach.
"None of you pansies will stand in our way!" Screamed DH. Epi just scoffed. "You won't be standing when we're done with you." The crowd nodded their assent and sent out their best people for the tasks before them: Wilgy and MP facing off on untying the bag of balls. Both opened their bags easily. Wilgy then skittered off into the brush to play with a caterpillar.
Then came the Hoop Shooting. The girl trio of LoRab, OptOut and Elo step up with jerseys and attitude. All 3 took turns flinging heavy balls one after another into the hoop like it was a child homing in on presents during Christmas. High fiving all around, SVS stepped up with a bag of light balls and fired a metric shit ton back to back until there was one left. Quin came straight in with the last basket and looked back at Mamana as if he didn't just lift a ball eight times his weight.
The next leg was the Puzzle solving. DH and DFaraday, respectively, gave it their best. While DF settled down and had a small nap, DH ran into some roadblocks with the host under some sort of miscommunication. After a time, he then bowed out and asked someone else to try. Golden valiantly stepped in and solved it, ready to keep going.
And keep going he did. Right up along to the 4th challenge, where he ran alongside INH, speedchuck, and Boomslang exerting quite a lot of willpower. In the background, Epi, LC, notsawyer and Sorsha tried to keep up. But it seemed the hole that napping DF left was too long of a gap.
Mamana wins immunity and does not have to go to tribal council tonight. Enjoy your night off.
It is now Night 1.
Night 1 ends in 23 hours at Midnight, EST.

I think my prediction RE: the larger personalities on the other tribe being an issue was correct. I also think it's not too difficult to guess who they'll be voting off, sans some kind of bizarre coup.

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Day 1]

Gotta say gang, I'm surprised and impressed. And back on the premiere, I said I wouldn't forget my friends, which I mean 100%. Your boy goofed big time today, and you all had my back enough to keep us in the clear. That's the kind of teamwork that'll keep us in the game for a long while, I think.
Which brings me to my two main concerns for tonight's discussion:
1) Who are we looking out for in the other tribe? Who are you concerned with the most? How do you feel the power dynamic will shape up over there?
2) I'm gonna put this out here in the open for everyone to see. I've seen like, two or three seasons of Survivor. Nothing to brag about, but enough to understand the momentum that we have now can be very very powerful if used right. What I'm saying is, If we can keep hitting the other tribe and knocking them down, why stop at the merge? For those of you who don't know:
- For right now, its 9v9 (9v8) after tonight's Tribal Council in which I don't see them voting for anyone other than DFaraday)
- After a certain number of tribal councils, the tribes will merge to one major tribe, and the contests will turn from teams to singles.
- What we should do is maintain this 9 person alliance post-merge (When the numbers become about votes rather than competitive advantage)
We got a good group here. I don't see a reason to abandon any of it.

Also, IIRC one of us will have to sit out tomorrows challenge so it's a fair 8v8, so if anyone who competed today is "tired" say so now so we can sort out who we want to sit.

OW OWW! Great work, team! Knew we had this one locked down. I don't know much about the other tribe so I guess we'll just see how things shake down over there. I think our focus right now should be keeping our tribe strong and winning immunity. Then we can think about the merge once we get closer. But having the numbers advantage going in is a big thing and sticking together can realy benefit us.

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Day 1]
Wise council from Opt. I don't want to get too far ahead, we got lucky with DFaraday taking a dive. I'll have to see how taking a loss this early impacts the morale of the other tribe.
Note also that SVS went for the option that consumed zero energy, meaning she'll be rested for the next challenge. Just something to keep an eye on for us (that is to say, don't feel as though you have to gas yourselves to win.)

I'm good with a tribal pact. I mean, we have the king and the queen, might as well make it a kingdom, right?
(and I mean that in a without getting married eeeew, no, with all respect, bless his heart, but no kind of way
)
And I agree that I think our team has the easier balance of personalities. Love the folks on the other team. But there are a lot of big personalities on that team. Not all of whom I see playing nicely in the sandbox together. I could be wrong. I just see several potential clashes that could implode on the other camp. Bless their hearts. I think we're a good sandbox playing mix. King and queen shenanigans aside.

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Day 1]
I do think we have a strong tribe here. I think not only are we a good fit, but we run the gambit in terms of our strengths and weaknesses, our knowledge and specialties, etc. Gonna be tough I'd think for the other tribe to bounce back from this loss. Maybe not this one, but if we can manage to land a second win that will really fuzz up their morale which, in my Survivor experience, tends to snowball.

One thing DH has perhaps not seen enough Survivor to be aware of is that every season these days has a swap before the merge... that means we are likely to be split up. We just need to be ready and have a plan for whatever comes.

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Day 1]
VERY true. Especially if we continue to win challenges because we'll be out numbering the other team. There could likely be a reshuffle and we might even split into three tribes. I don't think we need to worry about it for at least a couple challenges but if we do split, hopefully we'll still have a numbers advantage whatever team we're on.Golden wrote:One thing DH has perhaps not seen enough Survivor to be aware of is that every season these days has a swap before the merge... that means we are likely to be split up. Yeah! I posted on the day 0 page but should have posted on this one too. It's my first mafia and first time on this site so I'm still getting the hang on things. But I'm a big fan of survivor!Elohcin wrote:So...Opt Out....is this your first Mafia game? Or first on this site maybe? I've not seen you around.

I am guess I will be fine for Day 2. However, I PMed the host earlier about this subject and he won't tell me how we gain energy and what not. Do any of you have a clue?DharmaHelper wrote:Does anyone think they'll end up too Hungry/Tired/Thirsty to compete tomorrow?

Would anyone like to share if they gained BTSC with someone and who those BTSC teams are?
