Who did you give them to? Did you get to eat? Why did you give them away?
Also, I'm hungry.

DFaraday chose napping as his poll option?S~V~S wrote:I am thinking Scotty is using a randomizer of some kind, or a dicing program, to determine how much of what happens. Like how many of my shots went it, or how much food was gathered, how much success in tasks, etc.
I would think that people who need to eat should get food, since the water thing did not say we only had enough water for ourselves.
Since food is not as much of an issue for me, I might wait a day and perhaps explore. Since napping during challenges seems to have a detrimental effect (unless that bit about Faraday being behind due to his napping was just flavor?). Or maybe get back to that shelter or fire. Maybe Sorsha and Epi who ate should work on the shelter?

Hey, is that Fisherman guy on our tribe? Maybe if he fishes, we'll get a better yield.

Hey, is that Fisherman guy on our tribe? Maybe if he fishes, we'll get a better yield.
Maybe he changed options? It just seemed odd that Scotty specifically said he took a nap when that was a poll option. I am sure he will clear it up.The next leg was the Puzzle solving. DH and DFaraday, respectively, gave it their best. While DF settled down and had a small nap, DH ran into some roadblocks with the host under some sort of miscommunication. After a time, he then bowed out and asked someone else to try. Golden valiantly stepped in and solved it, ready to keep going.
And yay Sorsha for sharing.
Linki, yeah having a hunger bonus, I also asked the host if I could give food away should I get any and he said, sure.

And I don't know about Sorshas eating requirements. Like I told you yesterday, *I* have a 15 for hunger, which I believe is higher than what most have. And that I can't "hoard" food, so use it, give it away or lose it.

Better luck next time

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Day 1]
I stayed on wading pool (incidentally, I found a shell while wading, but it doesn't seem like it gives me any benefits). I think Scotty said I took a nap because of how long it took me to PM, because I thought the time was symbolic (the activity said things like "lose 30 seconds for each additional step taken to solve"). I didn't realize h ow long it took me irl would count against me.

We need to concentrate on working together so we can WIN the next challenge rather than pointing fingers and trying to decide who we will lynch next tribal council.
We WON'T be going to the next tribal council, cause we're gonna WIN.
All of our chances individually grow immensely if we go into the merge with superior numbers. We had a setback, and we learned from it, and we will do better next time.

You were not the only one to have problems understanding complex directions, Faraday, and you did it by yourself without any input from the rest of us.
We will do better tomorrow now that we know where we went wrong; we will make sure we are clear with directions, we will assume time is a factor, and we will periodically check in on the thread to see if we are needed, and we will kick ass.
We are team awesome

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Day 1]
It's cool, S~V~S is right. We just have to win the next one.
We HAVE to win, or we're all doomed. There will be no scheming, no alliances, no secrets, no alibis. No plans. And definitely no Final Four. We have to win.
You may have figured this out about me already, but if you haven't: my special attribute is my Strength. That's why I pushed for Options 1B and 2A - because they are Strength-based challenges. And the Host informed me that my Strength bonus guaranteed me to succeed in both the parts, and that I expended the minimum energy possible to do it.
I will be taking any Strength-based challenges, and I will crush them for you.
If Atamai is going to win from now on, we need to be aware of each others' strengths. I don't think there's any room for coy deception and keeping things 'close to the vest'. What's needed is coordination of talents.
I think this is my third post where I have tried to discuss how the game goes, information, secrets, or whatever. I haven't had all that much response, because I assume everyone wants to reveal as little as possible because they think it will help them win. Let's change that attitude. Atamai has to win BEFORE you each individually can try to win. Atamai is your only alliance, because if Atamai loses, you lose. Period.

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Night 1]
I think LC has the right of it.
No one in the other tribe has any real loyalty to any of us no matter what was said pregame. I walked into Atamai and there was no more before.
I may or may not be LMS, but I want the winner to be one of us. In any case we should concentrate on the present during challenges, do our best, and worry about later, later.

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Night 1]
I dunno about that, I am a better cheerleader
But I will say I was not in contact with anyone in Altmai before the game started. I was in contact with a few people in the other tribe, and I am beginning to think those people made the same promises to everyone they contacted. But there is only one final three or four or five, and all of us can't be in it
And I for one don't like to be played.
So I am playing for myself and I want one of us to win.

Episode 2: “Trim the Fat”
Reeling from their tough loss in the challenge, the Atamai tribe tried to wrap their heads around what went wrong.“I felt like we still did a good job,” LC said wistfully, “Well…most of us anyway. I know I’m pulling my weight.”
“Well maybe if you didn’t have so much weight to pull, we could have finished first!” notsawyer bustled.
Epi chortled softly to himself. LC gave him a glare. Wilgy, after washing off his bioflorescent warpaint from the challenge, wrung his hands in protest. “I don’t want to vote anyone off.”
“Well, we gotta do something,” sighed Sorsha.
The castaways grabbed their torches and personal belongings and coconuts and headed to the tribal council chamber to await their fate. As they settled in, Scotty Probst himself parachuted in under the blackness of night, plopping down on the dias next to the dimly lit fire.
“Hi folks!” Scotty Probst, “Welcome to tribal! It’s time to get down to the vote. Are you all ready?”
“I guess we-“ “Great!” interrupted Probst while scarfing down handfuls of caffeine pills, “let’s get started!”
One by one, the tribe walked up to the confession booth and wrote down a name of a player. After the last person went through the portal, Probst pulled out a small curtain, and, while smiling at the camera with his eyes, pulled the jar of votes out from under the curtain.
“Wow! That was amazing!” hollered MP.
“I know. Now…if anyone has the hidden immunity idol and wishes to play it, you may do so now.”
The tribe warily looked around at each other. At the last second, sig stood up.
But no one noticed because they barely knew he was there, so he sat back down in sordid protest.
“Ok. Once the votes are read, the decision will be made and the person will be asked to leave the tribal council area immediately. I’ll read the votes.

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Night 1]
Challenge #2: Let’s Rock [Willpower]
Team REWARD, no immunity
Team REWARD, no immunity

One random player will have to go twice today for Atamai. I have randomly drawn for this person and it is Quin.
For each round, one player will square off against a player on the other team. Players are playing for cumulative rewards- you leave with what you win.
Each player is given 2 rocks- yellow and black- to choose from and place in a bucket. The yellow rock stands for unity and sharing, while the black rock stands for opportunism and selfishness. Players PM the host (or post in their team thread) which rock they wish to place in the bucket.
If a player places a black rock in the bucket while the opponent places a yellow rock in the bucket, the player with the black rock receives 1 point as well as +1 food for him/herself and the player with the yellow rock receives nothing. If both players place their yellow rock in the bucket, both players will return with +1 food for each other person on the tribe (but not themselves), and both will score a point. If both players place their black rock in the bucket, they receive nothing, and score no points for their team. If you do not submit a PM in time, you forfeit your turn, and point automatically goes to the opponent. If neither PM me, neither get a point.
The team with the most points wins fishing gear.
If neither team scores a point, no team will win reward; if both teams become tied with 1 or more points, I will toss a coin for winner. Either way, players leave with any acquired food from the challenge.
Note: you may not share the food you receive in this challenge.
I have drawn for matchups:
DFaraday v Golden
Quin v Boomslang
Sorsha v Opt_Outside
SVS v DrWilgy
Long Con v DharmaHelper
Epignosis v insertnamehere
not sawyer v Elo
MP v speedchuck
Quin v LoRab
Please PM me your choice of rock.

Like looking at this, what do we think these individuals will do:
DFaraday v Golden
Quin v Boomslang
Sorsha v Opt_Outside
SVS v DrWilgy
Long Con v DharmaHelper
Epignosis v insertnamehere
not sawyer v Elo
MP v speedchuck
Quin v LoRab
Greedy rock or Altruistic rock? And more important, what do we think people would expect US to do?
I would like to think people expect me to choose nice rock. BUT I also know people always suspect me, so maybe not? People might expect me to pick the other becasue I *LIKE* to think of myself as all nice and self righteous etc.
Unless they are group engineering this, I would expect Golden, based on his self image, & O_O, based on sweet nubness, to pick the nice rock. Unless they engineer this, and that is something I would expect of DH and INH, tbh. So meh, maybe just random, lol, and I am overthinking it ha ha

Aw, Epi beat me to it, but I would have been funnier.
What are the chances that their tribe will be altruistic?
What's their tribe called?

Re: Survivor: Mafia [Day 2]
If the goal is to gain more points than the other team, the solution is for every single one of us to use the black rock (sorry LC- we need her
).
If even one of the other team uses a yellow rock, we win.
If we use a yellow rock, we're marks. And you know what they say...if you're sitting at the table long enough and you can't spot the mark...
If the goal is to accumulate food, that's a different matter. However, if we all use black rocks, the worst case scenario is that nothing happens and the other tribe gains no advantage over us.

Well, my food is at 14 right now; which I think is 4 above everyone elses starting point. If I fish, anything I get I can give away. So if someone else helps Faraday build, I will fish if that helps since I don't need to eat for some time, I think.
So I will do that.
So we should all send in the greedy rocks?

I agree with this. Even if you have a cozy little pregame agreement with your opponent, this is not the time to go yellow rock.Epignosis wrote:If the goal is to gain more points than the other team, the solution is for every single one of us to use the black rock (sorry LC- we need her).

I think that in the traditional Prisoner's Dilemma, the altruistic mode works better because of repetitions. This appears to be a one-round thing, although we can't know for sure.
Given the fishing situation, we need that fishing gear. And I doubt that we'll get into another Prisoner's Dilemma situation with their tribe, so it shouldn't bite us in the ass. We need them down and us up, and that's that. Let's just hope they're the marks.
