Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 6}
DAY 6
210. INT. STAIRWAY - APARTMENT BUILDING - NIGHT
Ben slowly climbs the stairs. His shoes squashing the carpet make mall crushing sounds as he climbs higher into the building.
He arrives at the Seventh Floor and stops. A high-pitched whine can be heard faintly. It gets louder as Ben crosses to Dorothy's apartment door. He gets his key out and inserts it. Turns it. With a loud click the door swings open and the high whine becomes piercing. He sees something and jumps back.
211. INT. DOROTHY'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
It is Detective Gordon, the Yellow Man, standing in the center of the room.
CLOSER ON DETECTIVE GORDON
Something is wrong with him. He is bleeding from the head. He stands almost motionless, in shock.
Ben peers into the room again. He enters carefully and lets the door close behind him. He very cautiously moves forward into the room. Slowly, he moves closer to a hideous sight. Standing in the middle of Dorothy's apartment is T.R. Gordon, the Yellow Man. He is in an extreme state of shock. He is bleeding badly from a huge wound at the top left of his head. His eyes focused on something only his twisted inner mind see. The T.V. is crushed in but it is turned on and it is the television that produces the high electrical whine. Ben moves forward again and kicks the television cord out of the wall. The high whine stops instantly. Silence except for the Yellow Man's labored breathing.
Suddenly there is a loud "radio voice" coming from the Yellow Man's police radio which is turned "on" in his jacket pocket. Ben's heart leaps and just as suddenly the Yellow Man throws his arms out wildly knocking a floor lamp to the ground and crushing out its light. He falls to the floor with a heavy thud. The radio talks again.
Music. LOVE LETTERS STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART. begins to play. Ben watches the Yellow Man and listens to the radio.
Sounds of shots.
Many shots.
212. EXT. FRONT STREET - NIGHT
The real scene is before us. Police cars line the street along with a huge fire truck and several ambulances. Special police marksmen are crouched behind cars and behind a stone wall opposite Frank's building. Screams are heard from within and police radios blare. Shots are being fired into a black window. Once in a while a shot is returned. Two policeman are dead and one is being loaded onto an ambulance.
A policeman runs off. more shots are fired into the building but none are returned. The policeman comes running back.
Suddenly there is a long barrage of gunfire into Frank's apartment. Then a loud whistle.
Police race across the street to Frank's building.
213. INT. FRANK'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Police kick the door in and rush into the apartment. It's empty except fora large dog which has been shot. The dog growls and cowers back in a corner. Every now and then it limps on bloody legs back and forth.
Sloonei has been killed. He was Detective Gordon, a vanilla civilian.
It is now Day 6. You have 24 hours to vote in the poll.

He hasn't fired a shot for six minutes. Maybe we got him. Get on the radio. Get Detective Williams, ask him if we can rush the son of a bitch.

The whole situation is very exciting. I don't think that should be downplayed simply because the last little part is planned and executed with no surprises.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 10:01 pmAnd to think, when I was planning this all out, the endgame was the part I was most excited for.

I'm not mad at you. Hell, you used all of the rules of the game to craft this situation. I'm more annoyed with myself for not realizing this could be a possibility and preemptively safeguarding against it. But hey, the game's the game, and you figured out a way to outsmart it. At the end of the day, (pun unintended) I gotta respect that.DharmaHelper wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2017 7:36 pmI don't think so but INH is mad at me so![]()

I just couldn't risk a nutella lynch or an LC lynch that ended the game, or an LC lynch that gave us the kill but only a 50% chance to win, or a civ lynch that left the door open for a Nutella NK

(If you can't tell, I mapped out like, as many of the end game scenarios as I could and basically pulled this mutiny play out of my ass at 2am in the morning. PMed Nutella and was like, "Hey so this looks like the best chance we have of winning.)DharmaHelper wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2017 9:39 pm I just couldn't risk a nutella lynch or an LC lynch that ended the game, or an LC lynch that gave us the kill but only a 50% chance to win, or a civ lynch that left the door open for a Nutella NK
I think the game would have been v. different had that first mutiny popped, or had I not accepted recruitment to the indies.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 6}
If Speedchuck had accepted the first mutiny, and not revealed how mutinies work, then things would have turned out in a much crazier way.DharmaHelper wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2017 9:42 pm(If you can't tell, I mapped out like, as many of the end game scenarios as I could and basically pulled this mutiny play out of my ass at 2am in the morning. The variable that I didn't consider was one where a person was selected to mutiny, but wasn't able to do so due to inactivity. They then had no incentive to keep the mechanics quiet. Speedchuck expounded, and here we are.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {THE END}
THE END
220. INT. BEN'S APARTMENT - MORNING
Dorothy sits next to her husband Don, a formerly attractive, sickly thin, and emaciated man missing an ear. He drifts in and out of consciousness.
The couple is being held at gunpoint by the two woman from before, one very young, and the other heavyset.
Nobody says a word, and the silence is disquieting.
Sudden footsteps can be heard outside. The young woman turns and aims her gun at the doorway.
The young woman relaxes, walking to the door and unlocking it, letting Ben inside. He's visibly energized, and begins pacing the room.
He begins chuckling to himself.
Ben saunters over to Dorothy and Don.
The heavyset woman nods, digs around in her pockets, and throws the keys into Ben's hands. He then throws them to Dorothy.
Dorothy takes them, and helps the barely conscious Don stand up.
Dorothy and Don exit.
EXT. FRANK'S CAR - MORNING
Dorothy's behind the wheel. Don's propped up in the passenger seat. It's a bright sunny morning, and things look particularly picturesque.
SPLAT.
The car rocks with impact, then proceeds down the road.
Dorothy stops the car, and looks out the window.
Dorothy rolls up her window. The car speeds off into the distance.
The camera lingers on the road, moving up and up until it reaches the dog corpse.
It was killed upon impact, seemingly painless. Yet, there's still visible pain in the eyes, which is where the camera zooms, until the retina fills the screen and becomes a world of its own.
Speedchuck has been killed. He was Sparky the Dog, a vanilla civilian.
The game is now over. Long Con, Nutella, and DharmaHelper are the winners.
Thank you for playing.

I can't believe it. I honestly can't believe it.

BEN
Frank killed a cop. Stored him in the lady's apartment. I'm guessing he was the one investigating him, and by connection, us. Meanwhile, that anonymous informant who was so very helpful and specific in regards to the location and nature of Frank's headquarters lead to a shootout. All of Frank's men are either dead, in prison, or about to be one of the two.

BEN
I'm honestly just surprised that this all happened so smoothly. I mean, there were those teenagers. Not sure what happened there. They came because Frank liked to terrorize. He liked to rape, and to kill. All very noisy, attention-drawing acts. And you two are maybe his noisiest.
DOROTHY
(connecting-the-dots)
Frank's dead, and his men are dead too, yes? So...why are you keeping us prisoner? You all didn't do anything to us, we have nothing on you, nothing to tell to the police even if we wanted to. All the people who wanted us dead...are dead.
BEN
That's the very question I was pondering myself. If...we let you go, all's well that ends well, you go your way, I go mine?
DOROTHY
You go your way, we go ours.
BEN
It was said in the olden days, that new kings always began their reign with a singular act of kindness. I believe Frank's car is still in the driveway. Darling, do you still have the keys?

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {THE END}
My major two questions after the game:
WTF was up with Wilgy's entire deal?
And can we get Ricochet to post like Dougie Jones, from the new Twin Peaks, in my next game?

Also I have a question, INH. My role card said that I was "currently a vanilla civ". What did this mean?

That you were a vanilla civilian. But, it was a hint that there were mechanics in the game which could change your alignment, in addition to other peoples'.

I figured that now. But I spent the first couple phases wondering if I was a latent cop or something.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {THE END}
SVS told me her role PM didn't include the "currently" qualifier.
That should have been a red flag tbh

I was VERY nervous in the beginning when timmer began questioning my "civ role PM" and how it was constructed. I bullshitted, and crossed my fingers. Tight!

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {THE END}
Fun stuff, thanks INH
I must say, having found DH on night 1 and Timmer on night 2, totally nailing those recruit-searches was awesome (lucky? psychic? or I just have great intuitions)
Btw thanks guys for being super cool teammates as always. We have Timmer to thank for offing Booth, and DH to thank for cooking up the win.
And LC, you had me fooled, right up until the end when I could POE out the roles. Well done and glad we could win together in this amusing twist. Now make us a banner

Doesn't a heist-standard 3-team mafia team with the chance of recruiting a 4th mid-game sound broken af? What's to be done?
All you have to do is follow this steps... Say:

I'm not sure what the lesson is, though. Mafia can get annoyed too? Scum actually DO advocate lynching annoyingness over scumhunting? Maybe town listens to people more when they actually put out content, and that is a good thing?
Dunno. *Pours salt everywhere*
