Oh yes, that's right. Around here we would say cop, so that's what I meant, but in this setup you're right it's important to make the distinction.

If you notice, in the first page, I used the word "scum" to refer to baddies in general. Not mafia. Mafia is a specific faction.

there isnt a role in the setup who can universally detect any faction. Closest one is bloodhound (who gets town or not town). Each type of cop detects something.

Cop finds mafia.
Seer finds wolves.
FBI finds serial killer.
Private investigator finds cult.
conspiracy theorist finds alien.
bloodhound finds town.

Really incredible setup. Can we play the next one now? Lol. Just kidding, I have work to do, but seriously I want to play another version of this ASAP.

It only worked because I had hosted greater idea before, so I knew the ins and outs of the roles. all the dealing with syndicate format and polls and hosting a turbo game for the first time ever was hard.

Also, good idea about using distinct terminology for each faction. I think I'll do that going forward instead of "mafia team 1" and "mafia team 2".

My problem with this is that the setup isn't guaranteed to be balanced, and civilian roles generally aren't useful.

For example: I searched for serial killers.

There were no serial killers in this game...

...except there were two of them, since there was no mafia BTSC, only two independent killers.

I think this would work much better if you killed the werewolf / alien factions and worked it out to where there would be a balanced Mafia / Civilian game.

No serial killers, and it has a new goo faction instead of werewolves. It also seems to remove most pointless roles.
