Jester Game [SIGN-UPS]

Hi folks I'm taking another setup created by someone from another site and converting it into a Burglary because this seems to be a system that works.

This time, I bring you a setup created by Wad from Naruto Forums, and already ran 5 times in that site, though never before as a Burglary:

The Jester Game

The jester is a classic mafia role whose goal is to be lynched. It wins the game when that happens, or loses the game if it is night killed, or if it is still alive when the game is over. Jesters tend to be considered overpowered and/or bastard, since it is easy for a player to look bad on purpose (we lynch players who look bad on accident all the time!). The original jester would end the game if it won, but that can be downright evil from the host's part. More common jesters don't do that, but that makes them just a silly distraction.

This setup aims to implement a jester role, and one who ends the game upon being lynched, and yet make it fair to play against. Players will have to be very careful not to lynch the jester, but they have the tools to avoid doing that if they play their cards right.

SETUP:

Civilians:
Must eliminate Mafia to win.

Cop (x1): Can investigate a player every night. Gets a Guilty result for Mafia Goon or Jester, and a Not Guilty result for everyone else.
Doctor (x1): Protects a player from kills every night. Can double target, but not self-target.
Vanilla (x5): Does not have any powers.

Mafia:
Must eliminate the Civilians to win.

Godfather (x1): Appears as Not Guilty when investigated by the Cop.
Mafia Goon (x1): Does not have any powers.

Independent:

Jester (x1): Does not have any powers. Must be lynched to win. Makes everyone else lose if that happens. Appears as Guilty when investigated by the Cop.

This setup is built for 10 players, but I may be able to balance it for 8-9 players if I can't get that number.

Date: January 21st, 2 PM EST, assuming I can get enough sign ups by then.

YES! This sounds awesome. And although I'm too busy for a standard mafia game these days, since this will be on a Sunday afternoon, I should be able to swing it. In.

The setup assumes that the cop can claim early and gain permanent doctor protection as a strategy. This is standard on most sites actually, with the "no double target" thing being a Syndicate quirk from what I've noticed.

Cop + doctor claim combos are usually overpowered, but I'm considering that the setup was balanced with that in mind (the mafia has a godfather, and the jester is naturally powerful). If this was a more complicated game designed by myself, I'd probably ban double targetting just to be safe, but I'm not the one who balanced it so I'm sticking to it.

In any case, civs only won 1 of those 5 games (mafia won 2, and the jester won the other 2), so it should be okay.

Of course that doesn't mean the cop HAS to claim early, it's just a possibility.

I've never actually played a game with a jester, so it's an interesting opportunity. I'll have to see how the date/time shakes out.

Sorry I took too long to set the time slot.

I'm gonna keep the time of the previous game. So it's 2 PM EST. If anyone has trouble with that let me know so I may try to push it a little forward or back.

The game will start if there are at least 8 players here.

I had 4 yes and 4 maybes you should usually expect some of the maybes not to come.

It's cool though I needed 3 attempts to get Greater Idea to happen.
