Kentucky!
Fortuna was not who I expected, which means Eros is back to being a mystery, but since he was right on her civvnes I am willing to give him botd for now. I agree that doesnt mean he should direct the voting and I dont think he is claiming that either. More that he really thinks we shouldnt have voted for Fortuna or Poseidon now.

Voted Kentucky. I don't see Ohio or Kentucky listed as places that shadow and mr Wednesday stopped on their journey, but I'm just relying on websites. The book might have something better about the choices. I don't know.

Re: AMERICAN GODS~Night 4
Poseidon walked down the street, ticking off the items on his to do list as he went along. As he walked into various places, it almost seemed that the anchor on the TV news the businesses had playing on their TV sets was looking right at him. Other peoples cell phones seemed to lose signal as he walked past, and his own phone just played a weird old TV show clip whenever he clicked it on.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER WILL ROBINSON
His name was Poseidon, not Will Robinson, WTF?
When he got home and took off his coat, he found a paper target stuck to the back of his coat. Who would have put that there?
No one has died.

The Voting Game is still ongoing. I will let it run until 7:00 pm tomorrow Oct. 14th. Remember you have to be the 6th responder with all the answers right. There are two questions that seem to be giving people a little trouble.

As for me, I'm back on my hunt for Hinzelmann. No SK kill today, so we're looking for someone who voted day one, but has missed other votes. That leaves Mars, Phoenix and Vesta. Mas and Vesta have each missed one lynch vote, Phoenix has missed two. Therefore, Phoenix is my top suspect today (although I still don't trust Aphrodite and Athena very much at all.)

Glad to see Eros has given plenty of thought and time into his early vote. I might have to re-read him today. Because he's starting to give me the willies at times.
I don't seem to be on the poll today. So thank you Mr. Ibis for that!

Re: AMERICAN GODS~Day 5
So this post made me think to reread Phoenix. He/she didn't really post anything on topic until Day 3 and even then, nothing original until day 4. At that point, the post was only about Eros's playing style. I understand he/she was insanified or something like that, but he/she seemed to post more during this time when no one could understand him/her than when he/she was not insanified. Maybe Phoenix is laying low, trying to get by unnoticed. Phoenix missed votes/lynches like Apollo says. He/she always makes it known in the thread when he/she missed voted, sounding like he/she is trying too hard to appear civ. These are my thoughts.Apollo wrote:As for me, I'm back on my hunt for Hinzelmann. No SK kill today, so we're looking for someone who voted day one, but has missed other votes. Perhaps we ended up lynching Communication that night then? Because he's the one who I would guess fulfills that role.
Communication: Can wear the guise of another player *secret*
So perhaps on the night Mr. Ibis died, that means that Communication died. Which would make that part of Wisakedjak's note true. Because otherwise I don't see another way my name is removed from the poll.

Do we believe everything WJ tells us is true, false, or a mix? Previous information he provided is contrary to your theory on Prometheus. Not sure. I would assume it's a mix however. Do you see another possibility as to how my name is off the poll though? Because that's the only explanation I can see. But that would be a secret too. However, you're right i see no explanantion for it otherwise. Has anyone been removed from the poll before? Maybe a replaced civ who is now active? Is it possible there is an error with the poll since is also an option? Our hostesses are wonderful and amazing, but maybe some gods are playing tricksess? This was a lot of questions, but there you have it.Pluto wrote:Not sure. I would assume it's a mix however. Do you see another possibility as to how my name is off the poll though? If we believe WJ that a baddie is dead, then I am inclined to take everything at face value, which means that it was not Prometheus.

Re: AMERICAN GODS~Day 5
I don't mean to make things more confusing, but it's possible that Communications secret is something entirely different. Wearing the guise of another player probably does refer to the lynch, but its possible that its a nightly ability. Like Comm could take other players nightly ability and use it how he chooses. Just a thought.
Re: AMERICAN GODS~Day 5
Here's a radical idea.
We discuss who to lynch, try to come to some kind of majority decision and have only, say three, people vote for them.
Ok the rest lose their night powers but, hey...no night kill! If there is a nk then it will be obvious who the perp is.
I don't ecpect anyone to go along with this but it's an idea. No more night kills.

Do you think that's what happened last night? If Hinzelmann is still alive, then he might be among the non-voters. But whichever baddie team was supposed to kill, all of them would have had to miss voting, since any of them can do the killing. That would be very unusual, but I I suppose it could happen.

Just for the sake of exploring all possibilities, it should be said that this SK could do something crazy like skip night kills for the sake of making non voters seem suspect.Apollo wrote:As for me, I'm back on my hunt for Hinzelmann. No SK kill today, so we're looking for someone who voted day one, but has missed other votes. Yes, but I think that would be a bad strategy for a role that should want to kill off as many people as quickly as possible (I'm making what I consider to be a fairly weak assumption that the SK has a LMS win condition).Phoenix wrote:Just for the sake of exploring all possibilities, it should be said that this SK could do something crazy like skip night kills for the sake of making non voters seem suspect.Apollo wrote:As for me, I'm back on my hunt for Hinzelmann. No SK kill today, so we're looking for someone who voted day one, but has missed other votes. Sorry for the triple post, but it also occurs to me that Hinzelmann has no role picture, meaning he failed to submit one, further bolstering my claim that we are looking for a mostly inactive player.

Re: AMERICAN GODS~Day 5
Skipping an early kill or two is not that big of a concession to make if it keeps him off of people's list of SK suspects IMO. It's not a good strategy to continuously use for the entire game, but skipping a kill is not a bad strategy...especially when you have so much game discussion about how the SK is likely someone that has missed lynch votes. See how that works? In my opinion it would be an unlikely scenario if there wasn't so much talk about it.Pandora wrote:I have to agree with Apollo here. This is a useful point. Interesting to see several missing pictures in the roles. Might explain why no one has been rezzed by Eostre. Also no civv kills by czernobog! So there hasnt been a lot of Nks really to choose from.Apollo wrote:Sorry for the triple post, but it also occurs to me that Hinzelmann has no role picture, meaning he failed to submit one, further bolstering my claim that we are looking for a mostly inactive player.
How come Poseidon did not make your list of suspects Apollo? Did he miss Day 1 voting? The night post didnt say who was targeting Poseidon and I imagine that was on purpose. Considering Apollo's theory on Poseidon as SK and Eros defense of him as civv I would assume he was a good candidate for the New Gods either way. Also, much less likely they lost their kill as a team. If Hinzelmann missed votes is it possible he is missing Pms as well? It seems odd not to have tried to kill more than once.
Granted wasnt this how SVS was suspected in Homestar? She replaced in and then skipped killing for a bit to try to throw people off. It could very well be that someone is self-protecting as well, but I agree it seems odd that an SK would skip chances to kill.

Poseidon was indeed at the top of my list, but given Eros' spirited defense of him and the fact that he proved correct about Fortuna, I have decided to give him a pass today. I don't see how any other role would benefit from defending Hinzelmann.Vesta wrote:This is a useful point. Interesting to see several missing pictures in the roles. I think it makes perfect sense for Hinzelmann to skip a kill or two and try to throw us off his scent. But to have missed this many kills makes me think he's among the less active players.
As for Czerno, I'm more inclined to believe/hope that whoever he/she is would hold off on killing someone unless he/she had a very good reason to do so. IMO the only thing worse than an inactive civ ninja is a trigger-happy one.

Re: AMERICAN GODS~Day 5
My thoughts are that we seem to be doing a poor job at getting the baddies. However, the roles seem to talk a lot about disguises and things not being as they seem. With that and with so many secrets in the roles, I think it is difficult to know exactly who is dead and who is alive as well as who is carrying out the actions that are taking place.Apollo wrote:Pandora, as a freshly reborn goddess, can you give us your perspective on the game as a whole so far? Sometimes I feel like we can get tunnel vision from being in the midst of things for so long and a fresh pair of eyes can be insightful.
There also seems to be many inactive players. This also contributes to the confusion. I kind of feel like I am an armed man walking into a room full of people who are all wearing the same costume. Who do I shoot?

It is Day 5 and looking over the game as a whole, I see mostly confusion as if it were Day 1 or 2.

Maybe we can examine some of what we know. The poll remover person is supposed to be dead but may not be; whiskey jack is still kicking; I haven't seen any posting effects yet today, although there were 3 or 4 possible roles who could cause that. One of them is supposed to be dead, maybe the others missed voting. The person who grants btsc, I don't see anything saying it has to be kept secret. If people are granted btsc, maybe they could say so, so we can keep up with whether that person is still around.
I think I need to make a list of the players who didn't vote last time.

Re: AMERICAN GODS~Day 5
From the role description it seems that WJ does post whatever the hosts are sending him/her. The question is, if our lovely hostesses can provide an answer, is everything that WJ says true?Whiskey Jack: Wisakedjak is wise, and can help you got where you want to go. Each night the host tells him things~ he may then choose to tell the thread, or to send a message through the hosts. He is immune to the Actions of the New Gods.
