You came up with 2 sort-of weak reasons for lynching Sig. If there were 100 reasons to lynch TSP, why not lynch TSP? And what DO you think of TSP?dunya wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 2:36 pmI came into a game in the worst phase possible and tried to contribute something useful.Kylemii wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 2:16 pmI mean it's not like you bounced in and single-handedly lynched him all on your own, and I don't think making a case against him by itself was a bad look, but it seems like you're underselling your involvement in the event a little bit.
If you can't see it that way, I got nothing more to say.
lapluie is excused for her suspicions because she hasn't played any previous games with me.
But here's some dunya scum meta for you: scum dunya would have latched onto one of the two bandwagons...three votes each, so easy for me. so painless. I could have built cases and made it seem like an informed choice. TSP? Are you kidding me? I could have made a 100 reasons why he was fishy and weird.
Walk me through your thought process, please. Sincere question.

My reasons for sig were genuine, and while he wasn't the only person I suspected, I explained his appearances online and not commenting pinged me and made me decide against switching my vote. I had no idea everyone would latch onto it like they did. I was on him for the better part of the day as a lone voter, till YOU prodded me for a reason and I gave it my best shot. Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 3]
In his case it's not solely that he's low in contribution, though that doesn't help. Assessing the content that does exist leaves me entirely uninspired. It took a long time for any reads to happen, he refused to share a past civilian game of his when I asked, and even that post you had quoted in your prod to me just now looked bad. "I think she's very sketchy but why do you think she's very sketchy?"rabbit8 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 2:44 pm Is the reasoning the same as low contributing baddie?

My view that baddies are more proned toward low-activity in games featuring high-activity (there are exceptions to every rule) stems from years of playing across the Internet, so it isn't focused merely on The Syndicate. I wouldn't expect Epignosis or MovingPictures to slack off when they're evil, for example. But as a general trend, it's what I have noticed. The faster the game moves, the more likely the baddies are to fall behind. Civilians don't need those extra 10 seconds or more to review a post and ensure it has that beautiful sparkle -- they just puke up whatever's in their head in real time. It's a philosophy I've lived by since about 2012.
Play on and I'll read on.

that wasn't really what i asked. i already do see it that way. you came in and made lemonade out of lemons, then 6 other people drank that lemonade and followed a similar recipe for their own lemonade. then someone died, I guess, which doesn't really fit the lemonade metaphor really(?) but it strikes me as weird that your response is "everyone else contributed to the lemonade just as much as me" rather than like.... Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 3]
sig gets mislynched a lot. Sometimes he gets correctly lynched too. There's usually some resistance because of the former, and that means a case should be assessed for its understanding of sig the player (assuming the casemaker has had adequate exposure) and its face value content.
I thought the posts dunya highlighted were genuinely bad for sig. If there's one thing he doesn't tend to struggle with, it's making reads when he has the opportunity. In this case he was handing out nulls. The case was wrong, he was a civilian. I don't fault dunya for having been wrong. I don't think she looks worse for having been wrong.
Nobody could even talk sensibly and the votes were all over the place. Generating a mislynch under those circumstances doesn't demand a huge opportunistic case. It's more likely to come from someone who believes in it.

How many games have you played with Sig?![]()

I'm still wary, but eh. I'll probably find somewhere to move my vote. There are a lot of people that look worse on that lynch than you.
For the record, this is where I'm coming from: My first game here was Phenon Mafia, a year ago. Sig got lynched on D1, for no reason. (I was a 3P there, a terrifying one)
I remember Sig saying that he usually gets lynched D1.
I've been wary of that ever since. When I was scum in Pirates, I voted for Sig D1, right off the bat, to see if I could go anywhere with it. (I just went back and looked)
Every forum has the guy who gets mislynched early on. On this forum, that person is Sig, in my head. Considering that he survived most of the the time you've played with him, you wouldn't have that perspective, so... yeah.

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 3]
I do not apologize to people who decide to lynch the same person as I chose. WHAT IS THIS? I am an adult. I am playing with other adults (and scumsimon). Ya'll made your own decisions. I'll apologize to sig, which I have, I sure as heck won't apologize to people who didn't make their own cases and decided mine was good enough.Kylemii wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 2:52 pmthat wasn't really what i asked. i already do see it that way. you came in and made lemonade out of lemons, then 6 other people drank that lemonade and followed a similar recipe for their own lemonade. then someone died, I guess, which doesn't really fit the lemonade metaphor really(?) but it strikes me as weird that your response is "everyone else contributed to the lemonade just as much as me" rather than like.... Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 3]
Lap... Okay first of all, not a low poster. They have 4 pages of posts. Relatively few strong reads during day 0+1... I didn't like they way they avoided contributing in discussion on day 2 because of the curses. There was plenty to do that didn't require being able to read modern posts. I think the chaos stage was pro-mafia in that it would allow people to take a back seat on scum hunting, if a mafia player took that approach I think it might look like that. Though it was also an attitude shared by many of the uncursed. They've posted a lot more since the end of day 2 though a lot of it seems to be defenses. They start giving reads once prompted by dunya. A lot of these posts are fluff, or gentle prods that aren't followed up on. there is some aggro with rabbit, and then some agreement with Speedchuck on dunya... I'm skimming now, the rest of this is stuff pertaining to suspicion against dunya. Overall I'd say mafia read I don't think that lapluie and dunya are w/w. Maybe one but not both.Jackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 2:41 pmLap, Dave, Rabbit, Nova.....Dom.Kylemii wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 2:38 pmwhich other quieter peeps would you like thoughts on?Jackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 2:22 pm @Kylemii
Your current thoughts on Simon? Any reads you want to give on quieter people in general would be appreciated.![]()
Dave has posted almost nothing, and what he has posted hasn't been particularly illuminating. He followed Jay's vote onto outworld and that's about it. Judging only by his two posts I'd say very slight bad read? Very slight.
Rabbit..... He does his i-don't-care-about-anything-im-an-evil-rabbit roleplay thing basically all the time and it makes it hard to read him without contextual evidence from other players, GTH I'd read him as a civ for now but with a continued eye on him.
I reviewed novaselinever during chaos day, I found their posts overall to be lacking of reads and opinions. A lot of posts talking about and excusing the lack of reads and opinions. when players make sure to reiterate excuses they've made for not having a lot of town-contribution it always tends to look bad to me. Like as if they came online and thought to themselves "well, I haven't done anything productive today, I better make sure to give a reason for it". maf-lean on nova
Dom has.... posted nothing. If anything points towards him being one alignment or another it's the fact that he hasn't been replaced. If you subscribe to the theory that hosts tend to replace mafia first since 1 missing mafia member has a greater impact on the game than 1 missing civilian, then that might point to Dom being good? That's just speculation though. Dom is a null read.

I notice in America you don't use defence as the noun and defense as the verb, do you?
