Smooth cover. But I'm not buying.

Aubergining the heck out of LC. [VOTE: Long Con] aubergine

Linki: sure we can ask the mods I suppose but telling a player there's gonna be two tribes? Nah.
I agree, that's why I asked. If *THESE* hosts put a player in a bad position, they would say so, I think. If they don't, I don't think it happened.

FWIW I did notice it the first time but figured it was just a throwaway name for the other tribe, something he made up for the example.

When the hosts were telling you their secret game mechanics, did you learn anything else?

I am voting Long Con now. From my experiences with Golden as a host in BSG, I can tell you he LOVES his secrets, and he loves springing things on players as a host; he is positively gleeful seeing the results of his game surprises on players. I would not believe he did so unless he says he did. Which I think he would, if your tale were true.

I just find this particular tale to be so tall, it could be a forward for the Lakers. You get my aubergine this round. If Golden comes in and says he told you game secrets before the game, I will move it. But I can't see Golden ever doing such a thing.

*VOTE LONG CON*

DDL, you are a hard man to kill.
Well, less hard to kill now, since he has shed his lynch-protected role. :feb: This just gives us the gleeful opportunity to kill DDL three times in one game!
Do you think we should?
 I don't know. I'm trying to have a look at Dom's posts to see if he lines up as a possible baddie. So far in my read he has mostly just focused on you, and also that thing I'm not acknowledging. He really hammered hard on you, basically over you putting him on the baddie side of your reads. Some call that OMGUS / No U, but it might be a regular Dom thing as well.
I didn't like that speedchuck did not give a reason for suspecting me, proceeded to back off, and then said I was bad when I didn't think that made him civ.

Already addressed my reasons for voting, for backing off, and for suspecting you. They are not the reasons you are implying.
speedchuck wrote: Mon Mar 05, 2018 2:17 pm I'd currently lynch Long Con over Nutella, and those are the only two votes on the board.

Why do you want Nutella kicked out of the tribe, DH?

Darn it I wanna vote Dom today.
....creating a false dilemma here.

You don't have to pick between Long Con and Nutella.
Try reading the rest of my posts. I wasn't doing this. It's ridiculous that you would think I was doing this. And I don't think you actually think that. :suspish:

On the whole LC thing.

I could see things either way, depending on the hosts. I also agree with LC in his latter post. Either LC or Dom is bad RN. Not both.

The fact that there were tribes at all was, though.

Sorry, you pulled the wool on me hard, old friend. But I don't believe Golden would have discussed it with you.
speedchuck wrote: Tue Mar 06, 2018 11:22 am But then, if LC were lying, why couldn't he have said "I just used the name because why not? It was an example."
Chuck, he needed something the other tribe would find plausible if they are in fact Cerberus. And, as someone who knows Golden, "Oh coincidence!", would have actually been more plausible than, "the hosts told me". But with my experiences in BSG (and if G Man were playing I know he would agree with me here) I would believe Golden would move to Hungary and join a monastery before I would believe he would discuss this with LC or any other player.

For *ME* that story was the absolute least plausible thing he could have said. Bar nothing.

I gotta get back to work, lol.

There is absolutely no response I could make to the questions asked of me that is fair, especially given I’ve come in to a thread where people are already telling me how they’ll interpret my answer. I feel I’ve been placed in a very awkward position as I’m basically being told that confirming LCs explanation saves him and rejecting it condemns him. Worse than that, I’ve been clearly told not saying anything at all also condemns him. As a host, generally speaking, there is a position I can take that is fair and balanced. Here, there appears to be no position I can take that is actually fair to everyone, not even ignoring the question entirely. My job is to not interfere. Here, it’s clear there is no approach I can possibly take that won’t influence the game. That is quite unfortunate.

In the circumstances, I think the only thing that can be done is this - both Juliets and I have agreed we are going to ignore all questions about LCs explanation, however they are framed and whatever implications you would draw from that. I know that, as I’ve stated above, some of you will draw inference from that. You should not draw inference, as in a perfect world this is the position I would take believing it was the only non-interfering response. I can’t see any way I ever could have responded without removing potential worlds from the table, and I don’t ever want to do that. You should judge the explanation on its merits and your belief of its likelihood regardless of anything I have to say.

Well he wrote "tribe" in front of the name.

We don't know if the tribe is actually called like that or not, but the point of TMI is that he shouldn't either.

And now that his defense is "the hosts told me" then it's pretty much confirmed this is the name. Either he knows for that reason, or because he's bad with TMI.

I'm in an intractable position here without the original LC post to draw my own conclusions on, so what do you guys want me to do? Because to me it looks like LC made some kind of post that contained two tribe names and someone said "Hey how do you know those are the tribe names" and he said "The hosts told me before the game started." Which is:

1. A dumb lie if LC is lying, because the hosts didn't even bother telling *me* I was eligible to sign up let alone spoil the first half of the game. Such a dumb lie in fact, I wonder if LC is capable of it.

2. The truth, and either Golden or Juliets were looking for names and for some reason didn't just go with "Charmander" or "Squirtle" for the other tribe. A wildly, equally dumb truth.

LC SAID it was the name of the tribe.

Then he didn't say it was just an example. Had he said that, I would have been more likely to believe him; both Nutella and I had the initial reaction that it was just an example. But since he knows Sloonei is watching, and he had to say something the other tribe would find plausible IF THAT REALLY WAS THEIR NAME.

Then he said the host told him before the game. Do *you* think the hosts would tell potential players game secrets, like there would be tribes, before the game?

That is so implausible to me.

Linki, you had me worried there lol.

FWIW if he flips bad (or looks to have flipped bad) I wouldn't clear Dom straight away. LC and Dom are smart enough players to get that cred and run with it.

Also, if they're both bad then this ploy is too clever by half. Since the reason no one saw LC's slip before Dom pointed it out would be that we had no idea what the other tribe's name would be, and the only way to find him pointing out the name as suspect would be if you also knew the name.

Lmao yeah not buying LC's explanation. Total bs that the hosts would do anything like that.

Also the point that Dom might have known the name as well in order to catch the slip -- yeah they could both be bad, though I think more likely on opposing teams than a ploy like DH suggests. If Dom is bad and also knew the name that's an easy way for him to get cred for getting an opposing baddie.

I think they're on the same team rather than different teams. LC is making his lynch too easy by offering the worst possible excuse for a slip that no one should have been able to catch and Dom comes in and spots it straight out. They want LC lynched so he can buff his role up and Dom can get some cred.

If they were on opposite teams, Dom would have told his team LC slipped and they would have nightkilled LC rather than expose him in the thread.

But guys.

LC literally said "cerberus TRIBE"

Doesn't take a teammate to notice it.

Hell no.

If I'm mafia and enemy mafia slips, I'll expose the fuck out of them.

I love when town is busy lynching enemy scum.

Exposing LC this way also exposes Dom, though.

Right but like SVS and I said, it could easily be missed as a made up name, only those who know if would catch if it was a real slip of the real name.

All I'm saying is beware how easy this looks. Dom finds a slip that, to anyone else, could just as easily have been a hypothetical tribe name. And LC's explanation isn't the understandable "It was a hypothetical tribe name" but rather one that's already been given to him in the thread and that doesn't make sense. Then he claims the hosts bounced ideas off of him, which places the hosts into his lie.

Seems too sloppy to be so neat.

Insertnamehere has died. He was:
39: Tina Wesson (Survivor). Each night, you will choose one player to inject with an innoculation to a particular virus. Any player who is given the innoculation will be unable to catch the virus and will be cured if they already have it. You may not target the same player twice.

Carry on.

Hm, explain how this worked in survivor? Whoever played in it

To me this looks like an anti-arsonist

Haha, INH could make people sick so that they burned more energy/food/water or whatever it was, so they were bad at challenges.

Oh no, this role looks different than Survivor. The Survivor role could poison people. This one looks like it is preventing that from happening.

Okay so I’m not crazy

I wouldn’t be surprised if the other tribe has a form of the arsonist over there, or if the arsonist is anywhere in the game in general
