Night 4: Can o' Nothing

There was no race.

Dr. Fetus did not hide... and thus was found by everyone! The players pursue him and arrive at Chapter 4: Hell.

It is now Day 5. You have 24 hours to lynch a villain!

1) Dr. Fetus fails to hide 2 nights in a row, clearly inactive
2) Rose is inactive enough to be replaced by Mongoose
3) Mongoose = Dr. Fetus?

You're probably wondering why I'm here (and so am I, so am I.) My Warp Zone fun did not proceed as planned.

I was going to say #1 myself. But I am not sure we can jump right to the conclusion that Mongoose = Dr. Fetus. There are other players who are not very active. However, even if Dr. Fetus does not hide during the next night period, I don't think we can let Mongoose off the hook either. If she is Dr. F, she might not hide to try and fool us.

My current stance on Llama is that he's either Bandage Girl, and doing this stuff "just cause". Or he's Dr. Fetus and is doing this as an experiment, and just to fuck with us. OR, he's just a different civvie role who's got a lot of lives, and is doing this as an experiment. To me, the third is the least likely.

I find this to be sound reasoning. Basically no use trying to lynch him until chapter 6 it seems.

You're probably wondering why I'm here (and so am I, so am I.) My Warp Zone fun did not proceed as planned.
Now hold on a cotton-picking minute. If Dr. Fetus believes he (or she) has a lead on someone, maybe he (or she) is not hiding so that the Final Showdown comes quicker? Presumably, if the doctor wins said showdown, the game ends.

I think this makes an awful lot of assumptions about the Doctor. I can't imagine that he would be advantaged by an early confrontation. Othewise there would be no point in the hide mechanic at all.

I agree, the final showdown is the only point in the game he is able to be killed, it would make sense to keep the searching going on as long as possible imo. But on the other hand if mongoose is the doctor, she may decide not to hide so that she's less suspicious (but that also allows for the real doctor to frame her if he's lucky).

Aw, bye Rose! :( and wb, Mongoose! :)

HOST: Will we be informed of what Mongoose's previous role was? Doubtful, but curious.

Ok, so at least one of these is accurate:

1. Fetus has continued to be inactive

2. Brownie is dead

3. Fetus is within the following group - Llama, Lizzy, or Jigsaw

If 1, then obviously not 3, and 3 does not necessarily mean 1 as far as night activities go. And 2 could be associated with either as well. I do think it's interesting that Lizzy assumed I was coached when there is no official wording in the OP about BTSC among the villains. Sure, it could be a safe guess to make, or she could already know the details of the villain team. Regardless, I know I would ask in the thread before I accuse someone of anything. Also odd that she cites picking apart my posts as a valid reason to reach a conclusion about someone she's never played with when that exact same reasoning didn't fly with her when I gave it re: Mongoose and Llama. Just some asides...

Going to work atm, but I'll be back with more discussion on this.

Yay no death! And yay finding Dr. Fetus!

I would lean slightly more toward Dr. Fetus being someone who isn't very active vs. someone who is trying to mislead us. But that's just me. Not to mention I'm starting to feel like I won't get my head wrapped around this game anytime soon.

Guys, Chapters 2 and 3 were a cakewalk. In fact, Chapter 3 has the lowest potential for civvie death out of them all, plus the possibility of saving Brownie. We still have 2 extremely dangerous Chapters to go before the "Final Showdown".
• Little Horn – A giant shadow monster from Hell that resembles Meat Boy, this villain grows strength from the failure of others. When the players are in Chapter 4: Hell, Little Horn selects a target every night to attack. Little Horn's speed starts as normal, but grows faster with every player's death; similarly, his attack grows more powerful with every player's fatigue.
And considering a lot of players have lost lives, Little Horn's attack might be pretty potent.
• Larries Lament – A collective of three giant maggots that burrow in the ground, waiting for prey to attack. When the players are in Chapter 5: Rapture, Larries Lament selects anywhere from one to three targets every night to attack. Each of the three maggots is very slow, but combined they can do lethal damage.
I only played Super Meat Boy a couple of times, but on both of those occasions, these little f*ckers killed me every time. Not to mention, they'll be able to target 3 players at a time if they so choose (again, dangerous since many of us have taken damage from lynches).

So, why are we having the discussion, "Fetus is purposely burning searches until Chapter 6" vs. "Fetus is inactive"? There's clearly a middle ground between these two options and it's here now. The player controlling Fetus could easily take up hiding again now that we're in the game's most treacherous waters (and still divided, I might add).

This!!! And your larger post that I didn't want to quote. I honestly have no idea where to look (I wouldn't mind continuing to vote for Jigsaw but I'm a little biased there). So far the only baddie discussion has been regarding Dr. Fetus, and obviously we can't benefit from voting for him right now. So that leaves me with no other real leads unfortunately, and.... Oh yes! Weren't we going to have a discussion today? :mafia: :D

Weren't we going to have a discussion today? :mafia: :D
It's Boomslang, you guys, I'm telling you. His behavior screams baddie to me.

Then who do you think I am, if you're so sure? Can you point to my role based on my behavior, or are you just casting a general net and hoping it sticks?

Agreed. It would be very fortunate to take care of Little Horn today, while all players are on the poll. Any thoughts on where you're looking?

llama, I am the most certain about you in this game. And, therefore, I trust you the most. You also tried to help me out with Jiggy, and now I will repay the favor. Bandwagon HOOO!!! :knight3:

@Jigsaw: I hope we can come to a truce at least on this day. Please level with me here. I am not who you think I am. You are going to end up being the death of me very soon if you continue.

So it's no longer enough to peg someone as a baddie, I have to know their specific role in order to vote for them? What a strange argument.

It's straw-grasping like this that makes me suspect you so much.

So I, once again, am failing to grasp a llama case. Llama, what is it about Boomslang that initially made you think he was bad?

I don't understand your cavalier attitude about votes unless you are in fact Dr. Fetus or Bandage Girl. In either case, trying to lynch you is pointless, though.

I'm starting to feel bad about Devin this game. He's basically been getting the opposite of the reads I have, if his quick boarding of the Boomslang Bandwagon is any indication.

I also don't feel all warm and fuzzy about MR. He was one who hopped on the Hedge Train a few days ago (as was Lizzy, but my gut so far is saying that she seems sincere, and I haven't played with MR enough to get that kind of read).

I'm not sure either of those is the way to go, though. Disagreeing with me isn't a crime. I'll have to mull (and hopefully read some enlightening conversation!)

Welcome Back Mongoosey!

I cannot fathom how llama is the one you are the most certain about at this point. Is this due to something behind the scenes? Originally that's what I thought, but there arent a lot of secrets in roles this game, so I am not sure where this is coming from honestly.

Honestly, if we dont think we can lynch Llama, than I am inclined to vote for his greatest defender Devin. Although he is very fun to have in the game. :fiesta: Llama may be bandage girl still, but if he were Dr. Fetus, wouldn't the best thing to do be to draw all the votes to you, while protecting your baddie teammates? This is my current line of thinking.

Actually, Elohcin is scaring me a bit, now. She's been a stalwart proponent of bandwagoning in this game (which isn''t what pings me). She's been consistent about that, but not about WHOM to bandwagon.

Only a baddie would make such a response. I'm on to you, Tasha. :eye:
Eh, I'm not worried. You don't scare me :D Honestly, I don't think you're really pinged by me at all. And, I definitely get civvie vibes from you. I admit that you pinged me a bit at first with your "odd behavior" but there was one post that you made that turned things around for me. You're okay in my book.
First she's dead certain llama is civ (as a strangely large number of players seem to be this game, imo).

Bandwagony? Bandwagony!? Eh, I guess you're right. But not today folks! I still suspect that you and A Person are up to no good.

*votes llama*
The next day period, she's sure enough that llama is bad to vote for him.

More or less bandwangon-y.
Elo wrote:I admit that you pinged me a bit at first with your "odd behavior" but there was one post that you made that turned things around for me. You're okay in my book.
Which one q.m.
Elo wrote:I went ahead and voted Hedge.
Why? Besides your tendency to bandwagon.
Elo wrote:I think this is a good idea. Low posters, not llama.
Why? Bandwagony again. :(
Elo wrote:Any other ideas folks?
You. Or maybe you could suggest someone for a change. :mafia:

Yes, I was trying to bandwagon. I believe we need to bandwagon in this game, try to get a baddie asap so we can move forward with some more understanding of who else is bad.
The next day period, she's unable to give a reason for wanting to vote Hedge besides to bandwagon. As I mentioned above, bandwagoning itself isn't a problem for me. I disagree with it as a general strategy when civ, but I can understand how in this game someone could think it's a good idea. What I have a problem with is bandwagoning when you admit you have NO REASON other than the bandwagon itself to suspect someone. It reeks of just wanting people to die. I guess Elo would say she wants people to die so she can have info, but you would think if she were civ she'd prefer it be a baddie that goes. I don't see any sign of that thinking here.

Incidentally, this is one of the posts that makes me feel good about Lizzy this game. She's asking probing questions and following answers to their conclusions to make her decisions.
Elohcin wrote:
Mister Rearranger wrote:What leads you guys to think 14+ lives is strange?

Granted, there are plenty of other reasons to suspect Llama (and believe me, I'm now considering them all), but I'm not following that one. :/
As much as I suspect llama, I have to agree that 14 lives isn't enough to suspect him. This makes me think that Boomslang has less than 14 lives. Maybe we ought to go after him next as he will take less time to lynch.
Boomslang wrote:
Yeah, 14 votes and surviving starts to look a bit fishy.
And finally, here Elo just flat-out admits she wants Boomslang to die regardless of his alignment, just because he may have fewer lives than llama or her. I also don't understand what she's saying about llama here. Does she suspect him or doesn't she?

tl;dr:
In summary, Elo is all for just randomly lynching people this game, regardless of alignment, until....something happens? I don't really see her endgame here. It makes me think she's bad, and even if she's not bad I think she's a danger to the rest of the civs this game, because she's willing to play fast and loose with our lives by following any bandwagon she can find and killing the weak ones. I will almost certainly vote for her today, and I hope that she gives some sort of response to my post. I also hope others will consider voting her.

Linki: Hedge, I think you make a strong point. Drawing votes on purpose is the only way I can explain llama's zaniness to myself, and even if he's invincible, the only way it benefits him is if the votes he gets don't go to teammates. I also don't understand llama or 'Goose in this case. I'm still leaning Elo, because I feel most strongly about her (btw, that would explain why she didn't mind voting llama earlier-it wouldn't hurt him but might throw people off the scent). However, I'll definitely keep your thought in mind.
