GTH town.

Though I've never played mafia, IRL or elsewhere, with a scum Luna. At least, I don't remember doing so.
That's because my whole time on the syndicate I have not once gotten a scum role :P

I'm going to pick 7 scum out of our playerlist. Gun to head. One for each scum and one for the 3P potential scums. That's an arbitrary number, I know.

Choutas - SCUM
ColinIsCool - SCUM
Dom - TOWN
dunya - TOWN
Epignosis - SCUM
Golden - TOWN
Jackofhearts2005 - TOWN
Kites - TOWN
Kylemii - SCUM

Nova. I was considering moving my vote to him from Epi, but no. I hold firm. I'm not certain on Epi, but I suspect him more than Nova. I don't have a reason to vote Nova.

Spacedaisy. I hadn't realized she was in the game. I POE'd it to her.

Kylemii. Gave me a lot of pause, but that good feeling I got from his first few posts is gone. He's skating.

Lunalee wrote: Tue Apr 24, 2018 8:44 am There's so much going on here, I'm having trouble getting a read on anyone at this point. But here's where I'm at right now: Dunya feels genuine to me, and as was mentioned before, the fact that she's added so much to the thread gives her a civvie vibe. It would make total sense for Persians to lead a lynch against Dunya on day one. To them, she's a threat, and getting her out of the game early gives them an advantage.

With that said, I'm still hesitant to place a vote right now. I'll check back in later.
Why are you hesitant?
I'm hesitant because I don't want to lynch a civilian on day one. I want my vote to count, and go towards the right person.

Jackofhearts2005 wrote: Tue Apr 24, 2018 11:08 am Statistically speaking, we’re likely to catch a baddie by lynching Speedchuck.
That's not how statistics work. His chances of being scum in this game are the same as everyone else's. It is not dependent on previous games. I'm sure you realize that, but just clarifying for anyone who might think this is a good argument. :)
You have thus far defended dunya and subtly defended Speedchuck, while I guess shining on a light of suspicion on those that would have led a lynch on dunya without naming any names.
If I hadn’t offered the olive branch on people I haven’t played with before, you would be getting my vote rIght now
I appreciate you olive branch Scotty, I may have to return the generous favor. :D I defended Dunya because I feel she's being genuine. I guess I'm better at defending than incriminating, I may have to work on my playstyle here.

I did not defend Speedchuck, I'm just really passionate about the misuse of statistics. If further evidence shows speedchuck may be scum, I will happily help lynch him (sorry @speedchuck , still love you).
I like your spoilers. Sometimes the quote mechanism is a bit screwy in this forum, but I like the de clutter.

Ok so when you say “return the favor” on the olive branch, are you just saying that because you suspect me? I think you should go for it if so, otherwise no need. I’m a strong boy (or so my momma says) and I can take it

And yes, you did defend Speedchuck by latching on to jack’s ‘statistically speaking’ comment. You are technically correct, but before he explains his motivation behind it, you made a conscious decision to respond to that opinion, attempting to set the record straight for speed. That may very well be your playstyle to correct statistical misanalysis, but to not see that as a subtle form of defense is suspect too.

Switching my vote to Spacedaisy because pretty much her only on topic posts so far are interactions with dunya which include a mild defense, followed by a step back, then a step forward.

Jack has very little to say and makes a lot of one-line posts. Then he plants a vote on Epi:
Jackofhearts2005 wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 9:48 pm [VOTE: Vote Epignosis] aubergine

Eggplant.
But I don't see him engaging with Epi, or anyone else for that matter. This is an easy vote for a player who is acting strangely.

I hear a rumor you might be bad this game. Tell me about that rumor.

(I’m happy with my Epi vote btw.)
He poked me last night with rumors of rumors. It went nowhere:

I don't suspect you right now, so by "returning the favor" I simply meant I'm not planning to vote for you on day one. I'm also amused that had you not made that promise of not voting for new players on day one, that you would want to lynch me. I'll give you a pass if you really feel that way. :P

By Zeus, I have to start getting ready for work. I'll try to follow along, at least with the poll, but I can't promise any activity the rest of the day. I'll leave my vote on Jack for now and I encourage discussion of him and everyone else. It's been a big and busy Day 1, keep that up as the deadline approaches.

I'm looking to possibly move my vote and the only two options that really matter at this point (I'll be completely AFK for the last 2 hours of day) are:

Dunya - this lynch is based on a scumslip I don't believe occurred. Frankly, I think it's ridiculous, and I refuse to vote there.
Nova - I have no idea why Nova has any votes.

Is it? I'm new to GTH. I thought the gun was only supposed to force you to say town or scum instead of null.
The whole premise of Gun to Head is that it is just that- assumptions you would make on people if you had a gun to your head. Not organized beforehand where you say “ok, I’m thinking I’ll maybe call him bad and him good and oh! Looks like I need to come up with a few more grease monkeys!”

Dunya - this lynch is based on a scumslip I don't believe occurred. Frankly, I think it's ridiculous, and I refuse to vote there.
Nova - I have no idea why Nova has any votes.

Hopefully I'll be able to post in some hours.
Work related problems arose and a million things to do today aside work.
Just try to cope with my absence and if it gets worse I'll politely ask to be replaced.

There is no reason to settle or focus on any of the existing wagons. There’s no reason to ignore them either, but we have 3 hours and the leader in the poll curently has voted, with a ton of fistribution. Things are open and everyone should be in play right now, not just dunya, Epi, and nova.

Why is it so hard to lynch Epi in general? His reputation precedes him and he tends to have people touring his perceived meta as a civ. I’m scrapping pretenses and I don’t find his input today civ-leaning. It’s sporatic, like my girlfriend digging through a new bag of Trail Mix for the M&M’s and leaving me the nut crap

I’ve brought this up before, and you’ve already touched on it. He seems silly and his investment is quite casual. I’m not sure if he’s just trying a different technique or what, but he was poking his nose in closets that didn’t need to be opened in GoC. Here it’s like he just lit a Yankee Doodle candle because he doesn’t feel like smelling cat hair

Sup folks? :slick:

So I'm not going to play catch-up right now (#downwithketchup Sloonei) because that would be unwise. Rather, I'll skim through a few ISOs and focus instead on interacting with you all. So who's around and wants to talk about their suspects?

Probably because I'm acting silly and we've never played together before.
