Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 3]
Yeah, I was a big Colin defender. It's funny, when I knew he was going to be lynched, I was like... if he turns up Civ I'll look bad like I *knew* he was Civ, and if he's bad then I'll look bad like I was a teammate defending him. Why don't you do some of your famous research and find out how much I defend my teammates when bad.Golden wrote: ↑Sun Apr 29, 2018 1:15 am People should read Long Con's iso.
He doesn't like the Colin push, he's on Epi for a Sloonei vote, his interactions with sloonei are worth a close look generally actually.
He just dismisses the sig and epi suspicion with a wave of his hand and stays out of it.
And in particular his 'straw man' attack on MP reads very strongly like a Colin defence at this point.![]()

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 3]
I want you to understand something.
I don't care if I'm wrong. I'm here to catch baddies the best way I can. If you want to be a dick and quote this after the game is over, do it. It won't change anything about how I read you next time. If you are town, I'll just be wrong.
You want to turn this into something where I can't read you for shit and LC - you know that's not true. I told you to go away and prove I read you wrong more often than not and you said you wouldn't and the reason you won't isn't because it's a lot of work, it's because I'm telling the truth. ASOUE. Night Vale. I could probably run down a list if I had time, but the reason I don't feel the need to is because I know I'm telling the truth.

Well he sure started the narrative about my accuracy rate. I didn't. I read you better than I read others, but I'll never pretend I'm 100% on anyone.

You need some discrediting. It would increase the chances of a Civ win. Accuracy is actually secondary.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 3]
Sure, because who was first to call out Colin for the reason that got him lynched? That's the guy you think needs discrediting?
This really is a 'survival first, town second' mindset. If I'm wrong about you, set about demonstrating it, not taking me down for it. If you're both town and paying proper attention I don't buy that you believe I'd have drawn a whole lot of attention on day one; made a leap from epi to sig after Colin's Luna vote because of Colin's behaviour; been the first to call Colin out; consistently call Colin bad all day until he was lynched - and be his Persian teammate.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 3]
Both you and sloonei are making strong tone-based pushes for why you aren't bad, but both of your isos look bad. I prefer judging your content to judging your tone in this case, because your tone... is a tone that could genuinely be NAI. Your content looks bad.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 3]
You don't like my playstyle. I get it. It's not my baddie playstyle, it's just my playstyle. I really don't know how to make you see that, you want it to be true that I'm bad, so you're going to convince yourself it's true.
That's me treating you as a Civ. If you're bad, then keep going at it, I'm always a low-hanging fruit.

This is where we're at.
I said tone is NAI. That's playstyle.
LC wants this to be about playstyle. He has all along. I'm asking people to ignore playstyle and look at content. And that's what I'll continue to ask.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 3]
I have no idea why you'd say that. I don't even know what my playstyle is, so how is it your favourite? The only favourite thing I have ever felt my playstyle inspired was a favourite mislynch target, because I play it loose, I don't have an eidetic memory, I jump to conclusions based on very little, and I only truly engage when I'm talking about me. My playstyle sucks.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 3]
Don't put that all on me. Dom's been fist-pumping over comparisons to the GOC game where I was bad, so don't tell me that I'm the only one talking playstyle. And I don't think that playstyle and content are separate entities at all, so your attempt to put them in different boxes doesn't lead to a realistic assessment. You are literally telling us that you're ignoring half the story.

I can tell.
Just a minute ago you were certain your playstyle was unreadable and the same good or bad and this is just 'how you play', now you don't even know what it is (by the way, I think the latter take is more correct).Long Con wrote: ↑Sun Apr 29, 2018 1:50 amI have no idea why you'd say that. Actually putting them in separate boxes does lead to a realistic story. The more boxes the better. Imagine something like this:

I'm looking for the things that are different, not the things that are the same, depending on whether you're bad or good.
I'm not so analytical as to actually be able to split things up into those boxes, but I do look for people to 'look civ' on all points.

I'm not here to force you to agree with me. I'm going to vote today for whoever I think the best option is. It might be LC or it might not. But certainly I'm more likely to be swayed that LC is good by points on content than just a general vibe.Turnip Head wrote: ↑Sun Apr 29, 2018 2:01 am Yeah but his content doesn't really bother me either. I'd like to see a game where an Oracle-type role is listed in the Civs but is secretly bad... see how many people rely on the Oracle's wise words. Not saying that's happening here, I just think it would be a fun exercise.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 3]
That is very kind to say. I get the impression that hard work, skilled play, and experienced analysis are what the people value and love, and thus the heroes of the day are always Golden, Sloonei, JJJ, and others (I'll stop listing names early because the more people I leave out, the better). That kind of stuff makes it nearly impossible to lynch you guys. I'm easy to lynch; all I usually have are spur-of-the-moment pleas, shined up as nice as I can make them.Golden wrote: ↑Sun Apr 29, 2018 1:57 amI can tell.

I don't think I contradicted myself: my playstyle is unreadable - and the same good or bad - because I don't even know what it is. Because I just play what I see and play what I think. I don't even know what I'm going to do next most of the time... something suspicious catches my eye and I'm, like, "Gotcha!" The truth probably is that I'm the worst one to discuss my own playstyle or meta... I'm the only one that can't see the colour of my own eyes. I'm in me, hard to see me from here.
