We do it a tad differently here~ what you would call the Mod, we call the Host. that is the person running the game. For us, the Mod is a site Moderator who just keeps an eye on things and helps resolve conflict & issues for either the Host the players (or both) out of the thread.

So DFaraday is the Host and Llama is the Mod.

Yes! Glad SVS clarified, I didn't think of that.

The hosts are the ones who design the games and run the games; the mods (me, SVS, Spacedaisy, Epig, and llama) take turns modding games that we are not hosting to be an arbitrator of sorts to help assist the host in keeping their game running smoothly.

I see Jenny has signed up for the forum (I just approved her), so....!!! Here's hoping we see her sign up for this game soon, that'd be great!

I'm a bit apprehensive as i told MP. I've heard how the game is played on some sites other then Ksite and it kinda had me..boggled. but when i look at your 'how to play mafia' it doesn't seem that dif so i'm gonna be positive lol. I also am apprehensive cause i have a ton of health issues and those on k-site (generally know) that if i don't post or what not or give excuses its because of that. I admittedly tend to be a bit sensitive in that regard, but I'll try not to be.

If ppl will have me, knowing the above, i'll play

It is different definitely than how you guys play over there, so I'm intrigued as to how you say it's not THAT different, but... based on what you told me about other places where it sounds totally CRAZY, I guess that actually makes sense. There are similarities too.

Also, make sure to vote in the poll! I want to make sure to specifically point that out too because, typically, votes don't count in our games over here even if they are bolded in the thread (which they often are anyway) unless they are in the poll, so it's definitely a habit you get accustomed to.

I have absolutelY NO idea what that poll means.

I meant by seems the same because the way one person described how they played mafia sounded a bit like a popularity race. which doesn't sound fun. I like scum hunting, I like manipulating when i am scum..if its a race to take sides that doesn't seem personally fun to me. but from the way it was described it doesn't seem like a race. but the poll bit..is interesting and the poll right now i am clueless on.

I have nothing against ppl playing it differently but obviously some styles of play will not be for everyone. But i love the basic concepts of civvies, baddies. Of being scum and hiding, of being townie and trying to figure out who is full of it

Oh yeah, that's true for sure. I do too, I just love mafia! I am obsessed. But I think it's such an excellent combination of social interaction, manipulation, strategy, creative writing, and customization.

As to multi quoting, I always just right click and open tabs while I am catching up, and then copy and paste them into one window when I'm ready to finalize my response. I guess it's just a habit I got into, so I never take advantage of the easier methods, lol.

I do that same thing Alex! Makes responses quicker, and then sometimes I read something that negates something I was going to say, and you can delete it out to save face (and no one is the wiser!)

We have a fluff color, OT Green. In the Full Editor box, it is one of the code options. This way, if you are catching up, you know you can just skip the posts in green, as they are not game related. Sometimes people fluff a bit without the OT (off topic) green, but most off topic posts are in the green.

And yeah, this looks like it will be a pretty interesting game

Yes, true! I am a huge advocate of utilizing the OT green; it helps quite a bit. I do like OT talk, but sometimes I know I just want to read mafia-only content (like if I am building a case), so it helps to quickly differentiate.

OT green sounds like our FLUFF: bit.. tho sometimes ppl forget to use that lol.

btw not to be a pain. I can't read certain colours. but I am use to it to some extent. I tend to have to highlight the townie green ppl use in their lists at ksite. And sometimes i want to murder Summer *:p* when she uses that pink lol.

Yes, exactly! I remember when I first saw the FLUFF: and I was like, "wait, what?" and then I realized what it meant, haha.

And I know what you mean. Over here, we just have our normal color text that players use, then a host color that the host chooses, OT green, dead red (for dead players), and non-player blue (for people not playing... but this one hardly ever gets used).

I guess you're right! There isn't really a shocked smiley we have currently... so FYI feel free to head over to the Speakeasy; there is a Smiley Requests thread. You can post just a general type of smiley you want or a specific smiley and SVS or I will try to add it ASAP.

I tried keeping track of all the comments/requests as they came in during various threads, but I just couldn't keep track, and I probably still have more to add even right now that I haven't yet due to being busy until just really recently.
