Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 6]
I’ve thought jack was bad based on what dunya said- that someone was bussing speed gradually. So I pulled up jack’s iso and saw that he had systematically called speed bad in every phase since day 1, ramping it up on day 5 and emerging triumphant. It’s either a baddie tactic, he got a red check on n4, or...luck? I dunno. But it was quite unbelievable.Sloonei wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 7:04 pmWhat was that stance? asking for a friend who's lazy and hasn't read shit.Scotty wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 7:01 pmI’ve been committed to a stance all day phase and the more he niggles on random shit all about me, the more I’m like “this guy can’t be serious, can he? Can he? Can he?”Sloonei wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 7:00 pmWe are two people. And my mind is far from being made up about anything. I just observed that you don't seem to be committed to a stance on Jack. This doesn't mean you are bad or good. It's just a behavior I am observing. Talk to me about it. Give me some names of suspicious people.Scotty wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 6:56 pmBecause I feel like jack is on top of me and now Sloonei is being a wet blanketTurnip Head wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 6:55 pm Scotty why do your posts sound like a dead man walking q.q

That he’s switched to muddying me up just makes me wonder if he’s doing it because he actually believes it or he is setting me up

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 6]
i think i just want it to be tomorrow already so we can talk normal :[
I have like 5 people that I think *could* be bad and all of them have come out of the woodwork and given realistic reasoning for their past actions. not being able to talk about our lynch ideas feels like playing with hands behind our backs
I liked your thoughts on Scotty, but I'm also suspicious of Jack's interactions with Speed. It doesn't feel like they could both be bad though

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 6]
yea, but I didn't think it was Jack. I thought it would be someone who was a lot more subtle so that when it came to developing a case against him, he'd have a backlog of evidence to support his/her stance if it came down to lynching speed.
honestly, Scotty's ISO of Jack's 20+ mentions since Day 1 of lynching speed (he has called for speed's lynch every single phase) does leave some doubt in a person's heart, regardless of effort. :/ the only thing I could believe is he investigated speed n4. but for someone who has called for speed's lynch since day 1 and no one elses every phase, wouldn't he have used it earlier? that's my main beef with Jack.

I asked everyone for names to ISO and everyone ignored me. So I ISO'd my scum reads. dunya voted for you over Colin and I liked Jack's case on Scotty.Sloonei wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 5:15 pm Quin and Speedchuck interactions, because I have no read on the Quin and that seems like a good place to start working my way back into the thread:
Their first direct interaction. Joking, not serious, easily can be a lighthearted joke between teammates but does not have to be.Quin wrote: ↑Thu May 03, 2018 11:34 pm

"Oh hey what's up guys I thought we were lynching speedchuck today?" Unless I am missing something, quin has said nothing about speedchuck at this point and his vote was on nova at the time.
After speedchuck's flip, quin does a couple interactive ISOs like this one, on Dunya and Scotty. He draws this conclusion:But I don't see a ton of extrapolation in the ISOs themselves. Quin, why did you choose to look at these two in particular, and what exactly set off the sirens in your head when you looked at them?
I also came across this post from speedchuck, which I can read just as easily as either easy shade on a low-posting player, or soft distancing from a teammate. I dunno.speedchuck wrote: ↑Sun May 06, 2018 3:18 pmUsually Quin is my first townread in a game. I usually see a genuine spark of towniness from him early. But in this game, I'm hard-pressed to say that he's had any impact on me one way or another. I have zero reason to read him as town.
There's very little here from Quin. There's nothing here that makes a teammate pairing impossible, but there's also nothing that screams at me.
I suppose I could spend a more time looking at Quin's posts as a whole, but I'm not sure that would be a great use of my time right now as I'm trying to wrap my head around what's going on here before the deadline. I also have not had a chance to look at speedchuck's posts at all since he flipped. That's something I'll do if I ever find the time and energy for it. But I can't conduct a full investigation right now.

:/ the only thing I could believe is he investigated speed n4. but for someone who has called for speed's lynch since day 1 and no one elses every phase, wouldn't he have used it earlier? that's my main beef with Jack.![]()

I play sports though so I need mah energy

Day 6 has ended.
Night 6 is underway. You have 23 hours to get your night actions to me. It remains illegal to reveal the votes you placed during Day 6 and will continue as such through the remainder of the game. This would be considered an infodump.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 6]
With the Athens-led victory at Artemisium and the valiant Spartan defense of Thermopylae, the Greeks had been infused with a new spirit of hope and even perhaps brotherhood. Both capital powers in the peninsula had played a crucial part in the increasingly promising defense of Greece, and united against a common enemy were they able to persevere. The Persians were far from defeated though, and Xerxes continued his march southward both by land and by sea. Themistocles, knowing that his fleet simply didn't have the ships or manpower to clash successfully with the enemy in a full-scale engagement, ordered a return to the southern Attican coast, and in Athens he deliberated with other chief strategists from across Greece on the next move.
Again, Themistocles was faced with a difficult decision which saw him disagreeing with prevailing wisdom on multiple fronts. Some insisted that with the Persians progressing through the pass at Thermopylae, it was now impossible to hold Athens and that a defense must be mounted at the isthmus -- the same defense that had been proposed when the second Persian invasion was in its infancy. Themistocles again balked at this though, and for many of the same reasons as originally. The isthmus defense strategy provided a means of delaying the Persians, but not of defeating the Persians. Some city-states in the Peloponnese had even begun constructing a wall across the isthmus to repel the eventual Persian incursion. Where Themistocles agreed with the prevailing wisdom though was that Athens could no longer be wholly saved, at least not at present. His navy had stopped at the island of Salamis about 10 miles from Athens, and an order was put out for all Athenian men, to include civilians, to collect their wives, children, and extended families and to get them to safety. Herodotus writes:
Unlike the others, however, the Athenians made for their own homes rather than Salamis. When they arrived, they issued a proclamation that every Athenian was to get his children and household to safety as best he could. Most of them sent their families to Troezen, while others opted for Aegina or Salamis. The evacuation was conducted with a marked lack of foot-dragging. Although this was prompted in part by a wish to comply with the oracle, there was also an even more significant motivation. The Athenians, you see, claim that the Acropolis has a guardian, a large serpent that lives in the sanctuary. Nor is this just talk -- for every month, on the assumption that it really exists, they present it with an offering. What they give it -- month in, month out -- is a honey-cake. Never before had one of these honey-cakes been left untouched; but now, on this occasion, it was. Once the priestess had announced this, the Athenians became even more eager to abandon their city, on the grounds that even the goddess had deserted the Acropolis. Then, once the evacuation was complete, they set sail to join the main body of the fleet.
- Herodotus, The Histories, Book Eight, Paragraph 41
