Also wanted Kyle off Wolbre cause the mafia had an extra vote. 3 votes with the next best at 1 is safer.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 8]
With Athens burning and morale running high, Xerxes prepared to crush the Athenian resistance once and for all in the straights at Salamis. Despite the setbacks at Artemisium, his fleet still outnumbered the Greek force considerably. So confident was he in the final result that he arranged for a throne to be set up atop a hill overlooking the straights, so that he could watch the events unfold live.
The Spartan hold at Thermopylae had given the Greeks ample time to prepare a proper defense, however, and to design a plan which could turn the advantage in their favor against the superior Persian numbers. Themistocles, ever the cunning strategist, along with his advisors and the Spartan admiral Eurybiades, set in motion a plot of subterfuge and tricks to level the battlefield. As the Persian fleet approached the supposed port wherein the Athenian fleet was to be docked, they noted what appeared to be a contingent of Greek triremes departing in a hurry, in full retreat. Certain that they had finally cornered the Greeks, Persian command on the water ordered a pursuit so that the fleeing vessels could be captured. This pursuit sent the Persian ships into the narrow straight of Salamis, unknowing that Themistocles and the core muscle of the Greek fleet lie in hiding. As the Persians approached and began to pass the hidden Greek position, the Athenians and company advanced at full strength directly at the Persians in ideal ramming posture.
Surprised by the Greek attack, the Persians were out of position and extremely vulnerable in the narrow straights against the heavily armored triremes. Persian ships were crushed and sank by the hundreds in short succession, and the battle quickly turned into a rout. This was not a slight victory by an undermanned Greek resistance -- it was a slaughter. Xerxes watched helplessly as his fleet was dismantled, and he had to know that this would spell doom to the long-term goal of conquering the peninsula. Without a naval force to contend with that which Themistocles had built, he could not hope to sustain and control over Athens. He retreated the scene himself, and in short order returned to Persia. He left his general Mardonius in command of the Persian ground forces who remained in Greece.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
Anyone who has been following along with the historical content and has the time: I encourage you to give the following video a watch.
The narrator covers a wide portion of the second Persian invasion, but gives considerable focus to the Battle of Salamis. This is what I mean to direct you toward. I once created a list of what I felt to be the five most important military engagements in all of world history for facilitating the dominion of Western culture as we know it (you care). This was the first entry on the list, both chronologically and in rank importance in my view. This battle represented the turning point in the Greek defense, essentially changing the war scene from a bleak and fledgling Greek effort into a true repulsion of the invasion. The war did not end here technically, but it did in spirit. The Persian morale was destroyed at Salamis, and every fight that came after was a formality as the army of Xerxes tried to get back safely the way they came.
If you have any love for history and aren't already familiar with the Battle of Salamis (or even if you are), I think you'll enjoy the video.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Day 8]
Okay I just got home, let me address this. I was okay being lynched given the circumstances: I had no way to be around any longer during yesterday. I had to go to my event, there was no option for me to write a huge ass post defending myself. The other reason was that people continually mentioned me as being really murky and a suspect. I was willing to die because I felt that eliminating someone who had serious filth on them (to confirm they were town) would actually benefit town as they can fry other fish. TLDR there was no way I could've defended myself and done anything afterwardJackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 6:11 pmFucking why? It’s likely lylo. There are no players who should be okay being lynched. You should be fighting tooth and nail to save yourself.
@Kylemii
You too.
If a townie or town aligned neutral decides to be lynched and we lose tonight, you will go down in Jack’s hall of shame, like the jester who voted when there were 3 players left.
Also, I'm really sorry Kyle

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
it's not over yet, right now we're 3 town, 2 3ps and 2 scum.
if the 3ps both aligned with us, we still have tomorrow's votes in our favor. if 1 3p aligned with scum and 1 with us, we still have votes in our favor. if both 3ps aligned with scum, honestly, we can still swing this because the 3ps' guesses to who the scum are are as good as ours.
we'll really hit gold if the scum kill a 3p tonight instead of town and then we can lynch wolbre and nova and win this shit.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
gonna iso nova and highlight compatibility with a scum wolbre / speed and Colin. I think wolbre is definitely bad now, and out of the remaining players, and from his iso, nova makes most sense as his teammate. if I die tonight (just remember sig in assclass after he scum read wolbre).
I also want to do some cross reference comps between wolbre here and wolbre in ass class. I started doing that yesterday and noticed he referred to someone in ass class as "funky". The word is set in my mind because I don't think I've ever seen someone use it before. and yea it definitely set off the "that's what he said to someone here" alert. and here it is. it was a defence of his NOU vote on Epi. sorry, but calling someone's play "funky" seems like a really vague and noncommittal way of throwing shade. and yea, that's all I got cos I passed out from exhaustion of seeing the winners of ass class stroke each other's......egos.....so much ;p anyway, what's funny is sig was killed over there after voicing suspicion on wolbre. epi voices wolbre suspicion over here....and also gets killed n1. I know, major coincidence. how likely is it. but yea, up until now, apart from Epi, everyone's called wolbre 3p and he was riding it out and building on it with his further accidental not real indie slips like outing his teammates or promising Mac that when he chose sides he'd pick athens or sparta. COME ON MAN.
I wish I could vote right now. I'd vote to lynch wolbre and I haven't even dug in too deep yet.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
[mention]Spacedaisy[/mention] I know it's night, but if you have time, please let me know who you feel could be bad as we reach the most critical vote next phase. we're all intuitively town reading you so even if you're not caught up, just pick the last page of everyone's ISO and wing it on your intuition with a GTH read.
I think we should all make an effort since one of us is going to die tonight and we all have SOME info from our night powers that maybe hasn't become extremely clear because of info dumping. but by sharing our reads, after your role flips if you die tonight, we can connect the dots and be in a better position.

Sorry kyle and everyone else. I needed to take some time away from this thing after that flip. I’m lost. I can see wolbre as scum but then he also has a partner and I don’t know who that will be. The gun to head answer is nova but that, again, just feels easy. I don’t know if i’ll have tome for serious digging during the night phase. But as of right now I’m cool with lynching wolbre and open speculation about everybody else.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
I didn't mean that playing mafia at a wedding is ridiculous, but playing mafia at one's own wedding that wasn't planned would be.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
since TH has the right to brag if me and jack flip scum
I have the right to call out TH as never being able to read me when it doesn't happen and also, I want 200 pushups.

Ok, I am here and I'm not ISOing, but I'm looking at the votes and I'm willing to bet that the baddies, knowing me to be absent (and juding from the last few pages I read nova was too?) that we could expect them to actually vote together now. I'm looking at the three who voted Kyle.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
civilians lose 4/5 times when the conversation stops revolving and they become fixated on one theory. as long as everyone remains a suspect then new things can develop, and scum team is fucked. active civs with shifty opinions are every scum team's nightmare.
quit being fixated that wolbre is 3p. he's did not indy slip. he doesn't know anyone in this game except sig. he couldn't have guessed the identities of Sloonei and Quin because indy btsc is anonymous. he's riding the assumption he indie slipped to the finish line. wake up.
imagine jack planning on bussing speed from day 1--something totally out of character and meta for him that he plans to specifically use his non-bussing history as a defence. it's possible.
imagine sloonei jumping in with his usual supersloon meta to hide his scumminess and just flew under everyone's radars. it's possible.
imagine daisy being the inactive scum partner to one other and has flown under everyone's radars. it's possible.
imagine nova bussing colin and drifting mia like his usual scum meta of laying low. it's likely.
imagine TH IGaFing the whole game through with sprinkles of opinions here and there and a fake fixation on Jack. it's possible.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
Either that or nova is a baddie in connection with one of those three. But, if that is the case then I'm not as bothered by an absent abddie, first focus would be one of the three on Kyle. I'm going to cross it and see where they voted on Colin and Speed as well.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
my theory is wolbre is the last active scum and nova is his teammate. nova is logging in enough to follow and submit night actions and probably contribute bts but isn't posting anything since may 5 except apologize for inactivity in 2 or 3 posts. that's 11 days of inactivity.

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
plz don't let speedchuck's team win this one, cus if they do I'm gonna be at a 2 game deficit for most games won in 2018 and it's gonna be a bigger hassle to fix :\

Re: Ancient Greece Mafia [Night 8]
remember when kyle only cared about having fun. remember when kyle used to mock me and jay for playing for the win. remember those days?
don't worry Kyle, we have this.
