Looking at the way the last lynch went down, I think a save of MR is a possibility. 5 of the last 6 votes (Matt's final vote being the notable exception) went to Lizzy or MR, which to me is flying pretty thick and fast for a Day 1 where no one claimed to have very strong suspicions. 3 of the last 5 went to Lizzy, one of which was MR's (the others were FZ and S~V~S).

I do think it's optimistic to say that an entire baddie team would reveal themselves so blatantly on Day 1, but it's not completely outside the realm of possibility, especially if MR is the killer. Personally I'm thinking it's worth checking out for tomorrow.

The man said there is only one copy of each book available. Please read the host posts.

Please read the host posts. I put a lot of time into those.

Please read the host posts.

tl;dr
Hah! This was hilarious.

I'm not too concerned. Llama wrongly suspected me in Homestar Runner and slowly saw that he was a gentleman and a scholar but wrong. And I'll think this same thing will happen here since it's the silliest thing since Lohan decided to try "acting."

linki - lol llama.
Oh c'mon, The Parent Trap remake was awesome, but that is where her career started and should have stopped.
Two words: Freaky Friday
Ah yes :) I am sad to say I owned that once upon a time. So, I take it back...Freaky Friday was good too. I have a thing for lame juvinile movies :) My 19 year old brother and I like to watch them together. And, yes, I know how odd that sounds.
Well okay, I liked Mean Girls.
So we're saying it's good that Lohan tried acting, then? And does that mean llama isn't being ridiculous and we should lynch you?

The poster might not have been big enough to cover the hole.
Somehow, that comes across as really filthy innuendo, or maybe it's just me.
It's not just you.
johns2jj wrote:After a short bout with MP in the library I am forced to take Elmer Gantry.
This makes MP sound like a disease.

And one more point of business...
Nevinera wrote:After reading MR's reaction, I no longer think it likely he's bad, so I'm glad that never went anywhere.

I actually think that a no-lynch day one is a big civ win, since it wasn't coordinated that way -
We got a significant portion of the information we would have gotten anyway, and didn't lose a civ
(which, let's face it, always happens. Minimalism mafia aside).

I gave up on trying to read Mongoose long ago, and the statement in question reads pretty naturally to me,
but if Llama sticks to his guns I might vote there anyway - I'm not seeing a lot to go on right now.
So you think Mongoose seems civ, but might vote her anyway because llama says so despite it going against your personal opinions? I don't like that one bit. And how is there not much to go on right now? Don't get me wrong, llama's a great player, but exercise your free will, man!

Correct!
I also think players are quieter at night b/c it is when the baddie team kills.
Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...

The Plate Shop
After thellama73 threw his fit that first night in Shawshank, he must have attracted further unwanted attention.

He was finishing up in the plate shop when someone grabbed him and pulled him into one of the side rooms. He felt cold steel making an indention on his neck.

“It’s funny, ain’t it?” the voice breathed into his sweaty ear.

“What?” gasped thellama73.

“That new fish smell the worst.”

Another voice called out. “He’s not the one we want! Come on- let’s get the fuck out of here.”

The assailant dropped thellama73 and fled with his accomplice. thellama73 wanted to get a look at their faces, but the plate shop isn’t well lit. And I suppose he was too busy savoring the ability to breathe again.

No one has been killed. It is now Day 2. You have 24 hours to lynch someone.

It depends on the game and the host. They are usually meaningful when Epi is the host. Looks like there was an attempted kill on llama. I suppose the killer was blocked.

Glad you're still around Llama, even if you think Mongoose is bad for a silly reason :p

None of the 6 non-secret baddie roles can survive a NK. Could be the case for the DA or Elmo though, but we don't really know for that.

I thought you were new? It doesn't strike me as apparent that a baddie would have NK immunity, and it isn't the case in this game, so where did you pick that up? I'm pretty solidly in the expecting a new player to have BTSC camp, and with 8 people in the game having BTSC and only 2 being civs, that doesn't exactly make me feel warm and fuzzy about you.

Shes new to us, but she (and several other new members) play at Ksite, with a decidedly different culture (roles are secret is the biggest difference, longer lynches and nights, zero talking at night, calling each other by names totally unrelated to their screen names which is HELLA HARD TO FOLLOW lolol etc.). So she is an experienced player, but is unfamiliar with how we do things. You might consider signing up for one of their games. i could not do it, but i think you might like the challenge.
And I do not see any baddie tells from llama. I will also say that I do not necessarily agree with him about Mongoose. But I think I need to reread both of them tonight.

Oh, good to know then. Is that the same case for other 'new' players in this game, or is there anyone who is actually playing their first game for real? I was under the impression FZ, mr thomas, and john were all playing their first games (on any site).

Interesting you should ask, as I had just filed away a suspicion of him that I thought was premature to bring up.

I know he is really busy, but I also know he is very savvy, and I am worried that he is deliberately remaining in the background to avoid suspicion. Notice how no one has talked about him until you brought him up just now. It is definitely the kind of play he would make if he thought he could get away with it, and since he has been busy and quiet the last couple of games he has been in, now would be a perfect time to make that play.

I will certainly be watching him closely.
It is totally the kind of "play" I would make! I can think of no better opportunity than now -
I have the perfect cover of *actually being incredibly busy*, which you have to admit
Is ideal for a gambit such as "trying not to talk too much so that nobody lynches me".

On the plus side, "watching me closely" should really take very little effort on your part :)

I will most likely be voting for MP today.

Anyone have a problem with that?

Well I, for one, think it's probably good no one is dead yet.

I do think it's optimistic to say that an entire baddie team would reveal themselves so blatantly on Day 1, but it's not completely outside the realm of possibility, especially if MR is the killer. Personally I'm thinking it's worth checking out for tomorrow.
I think you make a good point here Russ. I also think Mr Thomas deserves a look. I know we like to let new players slide through Day 1, but if you sign up you should play.
I don't necessarily agree about Mr. Thomas. I tend to give no-shows until Day 3 before they earn my vote, but that's just personal preference, so I understand. What are your feelings on JJJJJJJJSJJS? If anything, I'd say he's been under more suspicion than Thomas has (though, to be fair, that's arguably because he's been more involved).

And MR, I have no problem with you voting MP. An explanation would be cool, though. Are you voting him primarily because he's spearheading the charge against you?

If this does become an MP vs. MR thing, I'll be very interested indeed to see who falls on what side of it.

I agree with Russti it's probably good nobody died. At the very least it means no civs have died yet. I still think there might have been a little bit of a save attempt on MR yesterday so I might look into that when I get in tonight.

Ya, maybe they can enlighten us, because it changes things, at least for me.
I know Mr Thomas is new to Mafia altogether.

I am a bit suspicious of JJ. However I have never played with him before and I am unsure whether this is his first game of Mafia or just his first game on the syndicate. I would like to find that out. But, if he is a seasoned player, my gut says baddie. He is involved enough, but not too involved. Llama bantered a bit with him in the beginning....I am guessing llama was just looking for a reaction. JJ didn't give him much, but that could just be good baddieness.

You can do what you want.

I'm still planning on voting for you again. I think there's a good chance you're a sister, and I think john is your teammate.

I haven't actually seen a good reason to vote MP beyond the surface of what john said d1, but that fell apart almost as soon as an actual look was taken at it. It really doesn't help your case in my eyes that you're still pushing there, since looking over your posts you haven't actually offered a reason as to why you, and more importantly, anyone else, should vote MP.

If you had a legitimate reason to vote for him, then sure. But I have yet to see one from you.

Maybe you're trying to deflect attention away from yourself and John? :ponder:

I'm wondering the same. I am still uneasy about JJ even though this is his first game. Especially if he has BTSC with MP...he could be coaching him.

Me too.

I'm not sure we've seen any squirrelly behavior out of MP this game.

MR's making me think of a very specific sitcom starring Craig T Nelson, if you guys are catching what I'm throwing.

I assume you meant MR?

But yes, I really think MR and john have BTSC, and while I briefly considered that they may have the civvie BTSC (I was trying to figure out who the third baddie was if I have them being teammates right), I really don't see them playing like they are right now if that were the case, because it just feels like a defeated baddie play.

I've had a really crap day today. I'm not in the mood for anything, least of all mafia so I'm gonna get my vote in and go mope. I think MR was saved (or at least an attempt was made) because of the way the votes fell yesterday. Lizzy got two in a row to tie her up with him right after I voted MR and put him ahead of everyone else. Doesn't look great to me.

Yes, MR, sorry. And I think I will go ahead and throw my vote that way as well - as this is JJ's first game. I'm still thinking about Mr. Thomas for some reason, but I will give him the BOTD for a bit longer.

Also @Russ: I brought up MP's name in my list before he started pushing for my lynch on D1. My suspicion of him had nothing to do with him pushing for my lynch, but everything to do with HOW he did it. It didn't and still doesn't look like traditional MP thought to me.

*big bear hug, Bullz :hugs: *

Voting for yourself can have its benefits: for instance, today it gives me the name of the person to whom I'll give my vote. I'll give MR the benefit of the doubt for now because he tried to save himself - makes sense; FZ - same pour cause de unfamiliarity with some of the characters around these parts, which leaves SVS. Now I know she hasn't paid particular attention to yours turely whenever we played together or when she was hosting, butt my self-voting has a fairly long history, not to mention the fact that Vomps was in the same situation but for some reason his actions are all right, and...
S~V~S wrote:
My main experience of her is hosting her in AG, and she played a well developed, involved game there, and was active and involved. So I have not seen this Lizzy of whom you speak, lol, or don't recall if I have.
... I think we both know the reason behind my level of involvement and play style in that game. ;) That being said, I was quite an easy target on day 1, wasn't I?

slinki - MR, no u? Really? Give a reason and I might not have to be torn between SVS and yourself.

Wow, no night kill either! Interesting...

Voted MR. I will feel bad if he is a civvie, but he has seriously done himself no favors, and I can't fathom why a civvie MR would act this way at all, not only with regards to me, but just completely and absolutely.

You haven't explained this adequately as to HOW the way I suspected you makes me baddie.

Even if you felt you adequately debunked all of the points I brought against you, it was Day 1, and you have failed to consider I could just be a wrong civvie. Correct?
