Deadlines:
For Phase 1 of this game--the final predictions of all categories and bonus bets (Golden Boot, Syndicate Player to Win, etc): I'd need all predictions in and locked by Wednesday, June 13. No editing of these predictions will be allowed at any time after that.
For Phase 2 of this game: I will post all group games (alongside the date they are playing) as they have all been announced already and you can make predictions up until the whistle blows for that game. I recommend making predictions for the entire phase 2, and editing those predictions when you like. This will ensure you won't miss out on any because of silly time zones or games starting when you didn't know they were starting. You are permitted to edit prediction scores until that game whistle blows. NO EDITING SCORES AFTER THE GAME STARTS, even if you haven't seen the score/game being played.
Phase 3 will be the round of 16. These will be posted after the knock out round is complete. Editing will be permitted until the game whistle blows.
Phase 4 will be the quarter finals. These will be posted after the round of 16 is completed. Editing will be permitted until the game whistle blows.
Phase 5 will be the semi finals. These will be posted after the the quarter finals are completed. Editing will be permitted until the game whistle blows.
Phase 6 will be the final and third/fourth place game. These game will be posted once the semi finals are played. Editing will be permitted until the game whistle blows.

For Phase 1
They're just for fun --- to see how close to those predictions we stayed in our match predictions throughout the competition and whose initial predictions was closest. but I'll give some extra points for the correct winner predicted, 5 extra points to everyone who predicts the 2018 World Cup winner. Also 3 points extra for each correct answer in Golden Glove, Boot and Cup winners.

For Phase 2-6:
for correct winner, you get 1 point.
for correct winner and a correct sore margin (for example, you guess 1-2 but it's 2-3, or you guess 1-1 and it's 2-2), you get 2 points.
for correct winner and exact score, you get 3 points.

2. Shit talking other players is allowed (keep it light, no personal :crossing that line: attacks). It's football season; playing people's minds is part of the game!
3. No editing Phase 1 predictions after Wednesday, June 13th. The sooner you lock them in, the better.
4. No editing any game predictions after the game starts. Always check if a game has started before you edit your predictions.
5. To edit a prediction, quote your old prediction and make a note of a new prediction. I want everything with a time stamp to be fair.
6. Everyone who finishes ahead of melatonii gets a postcard from me. Your goal this game is to ensure he finishes last.
7. I'm not perfect and I may make a mistake when tallying up points (though I'll be counting a couple of times and have gotten help from melatonii too), please feel free to point it out to me so I can correct it.
8. I may add more rules if I think of something between now and when I finish making this game.
If you break any of these rules, you'll get a yellow card as a first warning, then a red and sent off for your second offence (except for rule 6, that's not really a rule as much as an incentive

I don't understand it tbh. He would have made $25k. I think there's something more to this one and we shouldn't paint every African team official with the same brush.
