Re: [DAY 1] Courage the Cowardly Dog Mafia
Hey! Indeed - I took some months off from mafia due to trying to be Superwoman at work and home. But I am on break, and am in need of a distraction from other important things

I'll be honest - I'm never a fan of the question "what's your meta?" Your intention may be to get people talking into the game (and hey! It has! For me!), but it also backs people into a corner, regardless of alignment. Either someone you don't know makes up some bullshit, or the player you know is stuck playing their "meta" (or out of their "meta") when perhaps they're trying to, y'know, not do that. It boxes people up, maaaaaaaan

But because I'd like to think (and I actually work at, or not work at, whichever works best) that my metas are pretty similar regardless of alignment, I'll answer your question with just that - I talk when I feel like it. I'm busy all the fucking time, except when I'm not, and it'll happen during this game, even though it's summer, because I always find something to stress about. I'm a creepy Blooper that people can't decipher. And I like it that way.
Bloop.

Also thanks for the answer I liked it. Imma say Bloober is a Civ lean the above post seems honest and I like how she approached the meta question.

Re: [DAY 1] Courage the Cowardly Dog Mafia
Nice to meet you Nijuukyugou! And thanks for the meta introduction, but I am wary of people who claim to have difficult-to-decipher metas. It looks like you've just placed your safety net out incase you look suspicious.nijuukyugou wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 10:02 pmHey! sounds like a solid way to do nothingsig wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 7:28 pm OKAY SO! Alot of players didn't seem to do the requirement to tell a spooky story. Meaning they didn't read the rules smh at all those players
However, if a mafia member spotted this rule I'd imagine they'd post about it in their BTSC which would cause the rest of their team to follow it. SO I suggest we take a few seconds to look at the people who posted their spooky story in there first post and keep an eye on them for suspicious behavior.
Thoughts?

I usually randomize in these games, but this time I think it might be an interesting strategy to at least begin by voting off some of the "bad guys". And since in the beginning of the game only the "bad guys" themselves know who they are, it is likely that anyone who knowingly votes for anyone other than oneself is a "bad guy".

Ugh I hate 24 hour days on Day 1. I haven't seen anything I consider suspicious yet but it's early. I'll be in and out through the morning and afternoon. I'm not sure I will be here for EOD though, but I'll try.

Re: [DAY 0] Courage the Cowardly Dog Mafia
Yeah, it fell flat. I suggested day 1 we look at the people who posted about their scary experience a bit closer for two reasons.
1. Mafia tend to read the rules more imo
2. If just one mafia member read the rules they'd post it in BTSC and the teammates would do it.
Nobody else seemed to think it was a good idea, so I'm keeping it in my back pocket until we get more flips and see if I'm right.

Thanks for pointing it out though!

I don't have a problem with the fact it's punishing people who read rules but there is a big chance mafia didn't bother to mention this in the chat. Some mafias don't even fully join BTSC before Day 0 ends. So it's not really concusive.

...so you're saying I should just vote for myself? If everyone who is not a bad guy took this advice we would end up with a randomized lynch on day one. Vompatti is like that car accident on the side of the road that you can't look away from, except he's not really like that at all, I mean maybe he'd be the person on the side of the road giving you the finger telling you to keep going and stop staring but more importantly he writes poetry i think and half of what he says is nonsense idiot savant type behavior that must be fueled by what I can only assume is a hidden genius covering up the fact that he's literally smarter than the rest of us combined.

Re: [DAY 1] Courage the Cowardly Dog Mafia
The only idea I really recall is the one where he said the mafia might be more prone to post a spooky story because they read the rules closer than civs and would bring it up in btsc. I don't agree that mafia tends to read the rules closer and I'm interested in LC's question to sig as to how he arrived at that conclusion. Also, my experience with btsc is that people don't always post there right away. I will say though the idea was creative and shows out of the box thinking which I hope he continues.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:39 am Sig has been probably the most vocal player in the thread so far.
