not everyone has role claimed or even posted since my mason claim, so first of all you're jumping the gun on this

secondly, in order for me to be mafia turnip head would need to be lying, and the other mason would also need to be lying. that would be too many liars to be a mafia team in this setup.

As far as I read, masons can't reveal themselves to each other purposefully in BTSC. What does your claim do for you?

same thing here, I think a real mason would have read the mason rules more closely and realized the PoE potential. doubting another's mason claim when there's no reason to do so yet doesn't reflect that.

The latter can be easily solved if the host confirms one of the two claims. If this continues to not occur, I'd like to ask both players why they choose to not do so.

I'll clarify, there's 8 players. 2 mafia, and (up to) 5 players which can be cleared via role claims. I guess in this situation it's just 4 since apparently TH's cop read was on me and not a vanilla.

the absolute best move is for every civ to roleclaim, it eliminates half the puzzle and it forces the mafia out into the open or it forces them to fake claim, either way it simplifies things significantly, and gives us something to talk about.

I disagree. This prevents vanilla players from utilizing their ability of speech to the fullest. Why would you want to prevent a civilian from lying? That's the most useful tool to a vanilla.

i think it's important to note the direction of wilgy's aggressiveness though. he's most actively pushed against attempts to clear players via roleclaims.

I'm 90% confident that wilgy is mafia, the only holdout is, like you said, the possibility that he's actually just fucking around. with that and the whole 2 mayor claims thing, I don't think we're necessarily in a bad place for making this lynch successful

Here's my view on Mason-claiming.

I can see both masons role-claiming, that makes sense to me.

I could also see the scum team claiming mason, especially if they're on their game and get their claim out first. Why? It lights the fire under the real masons (if they exist) or it gives them a fair chance to clear themselves if their are no masons. But this only works if both scummates claim mason. If there's only one scum player claiming mason, we can sit back and watch what the players who claimed mason do.

But if there's a town claiming mason. Well, that's a possibility I won't ignore.
