You should have mentioned me in the post. I didn't know you had offered me a position. Still probably would have chosen Bonnie Mae though.

To hell with truth-metas. Most of the things he's done and said so far are telling me he's bad.

He was excited, and came in fresh D0. However, he slowed down considerably after taking heat for his alignment claim. His no u on Sig was awful. He reads anxious and titled from the little suspicion during the interaction. He claimed that Sokoth defense was reasoned and effective . A little nip it in the bud moment from him, when it was only me there.

I called him out on that, and he never came back to me. He never came to anything game related as a matter of fact. A bunch of fluff down the road, and that's it.

Yeah, I'm sorry but not buying the alignment claim. He's bad.

I'm incredibly pissed that Mac was lynched and my crew has been cursed ever since.

Also why did the mafia kill Soneji (Inactive) and not Lap (Equally Inactive)

Tho I guess killing Kyle makes sense by way of killing the...last guy who voted for Soq...I guess? Tho like...why..

I just started school and it's hard to imagine I will have the time to be very involved in this game. >_>. I'm not even that many pages behind, and I can make something of an effort, but I definitely won't be as active as in days 0-1. It's also my birthday on wednesday, but incidentally I think that will be my freest day. Please be patient. :scared:

I'm behind, but here's this:

SokothQultuq wrote: Sun Aug 12, 2018 8:28 pm So its time for me to weigh in I guess. I've been going over everyones that's on the Vote's posts. Here is my two cents:

Glorf - While I had initial suspicions of him initially, which was primarily founded on this focus of his meta. I do believe that he very well is a good player and not a baddie. He's been defensive of players, and his Captain and has only really lashed out when one of those was put in the hot seat. So I've swung this vote from red to green.

DDL - Though most people seem to think DDL is a baddie, I'm not entirely convinced. I've seen it swing either way so I am on the ropes with DDL but the way that DDL has reacted even despite his being ejected from his crew. This does not scream bad to me. So I'm again swinging my thoughts from Badish to good.

DrWilgy - Lurking in the shadows. Very low activity from what I've seen but most of what they have posted has not really carried much substance. I suppose the real life reason for inactivity should be considered. I'm on the ropes here. Earlier on they were pretty aggresive with some comments. One thing that stood out to me and still rings is "My Votes have gone to preventing a cowered from being Captain, I'll hold my 4th". This still resonates with me and has pushed my vote over to the bad side. I'm still curious why Wilgy would label Golden a Cowered as I Believe that is where that comment was directed. So... Yeah. And Silence for a long period from the 9th up until...?

DFaraday - Not very active. Mostly responsive to post but nothing that really stands out to me.

Kylemii - Wizard Stuff? Is this some kind of misdirect and avoidance of the Topics at hand? Has not really been helpful but has not hurt. Someone I'm watching to see where this goes as we move on. Leaning Bad.

Luna - Reading through your posts I didn't honestly see anything that stood out as bad up until you ejected DDL from your crew. I'm still not sure I understand why. I thought your handling of your crew pointed to good, but your comments to take in "Jaded" crew. Then when Challenged on it, you 180'ed and said it was a joke. Kind of Strange to me. Those two points combined have me thinking you hail from the dark side of things.

Lapluie... ? Not really here? LOL

Marmot - No real substance to posts until somewhat recently. The vote for Mac without reason kind of through me. I would be interested to know why you threw Mac Under the bus.

SpeedChuck - This suggestion to Lynch ships that have more crew while a good tactic for a win, I'm not sure if I can tell if it was a "Bad' or "Good" Suggestion. It could be both. Mostly seems to play devils advocate between posts.

This is all I've got so far from reading through things and following. Some of the most recent posts are not really analyized here. But yeah. Observations.

So I'm leaning on DrWilgy, and Luna to be honest. I would like other opinions on why I shouldn't vote for one of them or which one I should over the other?
Epignosis wrote: Sun Aug 12, 2018 11:56 pm From this post:

Glorfindel - Good, because duh.

DDL- This is weasel shit right here. "Though most people" (what people?) "seem to think DDL is a baddie" (seem? Do they or do they not?), I'm not entirely convinced (why would you be?). I've seen it swing either way (seen what swing either way?)...I'll stop there before my wrists explode. DDL remains a high end suspect of mine.

DrWilgy- Would still lynch. The comment about Wilgy calling Golden a "Cowered" looks just as false to me as Wilgy's exchange with Golden.

DFaraday - DF got shit going against Sokoth. I'm not lynching him tomorrow.

Kylemii- I don't think he's on Sokoth's team.

Lunalee- Ejecting someone from your ship doesn't indicate evilness. I don't think Lunalee is bad, and this reasoning looks contrived as hell.

lapluie- ???

Marmot- This one stood out to me at first glance. He used the phrase "threw Mac under the bus," which is the sort of phrase used to describe mafia taking out one of their own. This didn't happen though, since MacDougall was good. I'm almost convinced Marmot is 100% a civilian here.

speedchuck- Unlikely to be on Sokoth's team, since he couldn't muster anything to say for or against him.

He failed to comment on Golden and TH, who are also on the poll.

Sokoth post analysis:
Sokoth waffles strongly on Glorf with "maybe he's good" to "but we should watch him" to "but I don't see anything pointing to him being bad. Not sure what the point is here, but he could be casting very cautious shade Glorf's way because he knows Glorf is town.
Sokoth left quite a bit of commentary on Golden and Nova's conversation:
He comments that Golden's case against Nova is "pretty compelling"
But then comments on Nova's response with "Good rebuttal. Golden was starting to have me convinced..."
Nova notices Sokoth sitting on the fence about the whole thing and calls him out for it, to which Sokoth replies with a massive "No U" post. At this point Nova looks pretty good.
Sokoth asks about the DDL train, saying he only noticed "lack of substance" in DDL's posts, and asking if anyone had anything "substantial" on him. Could be an attempt by a teammate to talk through and dispel suspicions on DDL.
Actual player analysis from Sokoth! This should be insightful:
Sokoth puts myself and DrWilgy on the top of his baddie hit list. Which gives me reason to believe DrWilgy is town
Is "leaning bad" on Kylemii. Kylemii may also be town
Sokoth has the same thing to say about DFarady and Lapluie, but the way he says "Lapluie... ? Not really here? LOL", where as for DF he just states: "DFaraday - Not very active. Mostly responsive to post but nothing that really stands out to me." pings me a bit, and looks like he really needs Lapluie to show up. They may be teammates.
Throws suspicion at Marmot unless he can explain why he "threw Mac Under the bus" -could be teammates
Does some serious fence-sitting on speedchuck, and doesn't even end it with a bit of an alignment conclusion. -could be teammates.
That's all I noticed of substance in Sokoth's ISO. My main suspects right now are DDL, Lapluie (who's absent, I know), Marmot, and Speedchuck.

Today's additional thoughts: I realize there are more people in the game than on Sokoth's analysis post, since there were only so many people on the poll at the time. There may be some Sokoth teammates who were not on the poll, who he didn't need to analyze. In which case some suspects I listed are probably just town.

Leaving Lapluie out of this beautiful rainbow list. I wouldn't lynch there though since she's getting replaced.
I wonder if you are doing this because you are stubborn or because it's easy to tunnel on the one person who will never get lynched.

Mac is laying pretty low, but we did just start and I don't think his activity so far is indicative of alignment. Glorfindel is all over sig for what looks like nothing to me but... I remember Glorf's first game, and I believe the talk about his meta. sig has been fine.

Got a funny feeling about speedchuck but he hasn't been around a lot and I don't want to contribute to a possible pile-up. Leaving a placeholder vote on Colin for now for no good reason.
I would be okay with an Enrique lynch today. I see nothing by empty opinions in his ISO. This being a prime example.

You know, I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t think you can be Mafia, my friend. If you were teamies with anyone with any experience around here they’d surely have convinced you of the folly of trying to argue that I’m bad under the circumstances where I have claimed Town. You can say that you’ll disregard my meta but it if you’re Town, it makes no sense to do so. You can go back and read my previous games and they will corroborate what everyone here is telling you 100%. Your only argument then, is that I’ve abandoned my approach to these games (that I’ve been playing for years) just to maybe win this game as Mafia. Why on earth do you think I’d do that? You honestly believe that I would put winning this game ahead of my long held principles? If you’re Town, you need to get on board with the rest of us and abandon this stubborn, bull-headed approach that you’ve adopted or you’ll hand the real bad guys this game on a platter.

Question for you Glorf: have you ever won as mafia with your "truth meta"? Or do you just accept to loose every game you are mafia in? I'm genuinely curious about how to have such a meta as yours and make it actually work.

People with truth metas lose all games as mafia. That's how it works.

For that reason some of them like to adopt the policy of not saying they are civs even when they are civs. Maybe Glorf could start doing that.

For example, my friend Pennywise/Mr. Waffles has a semi-truth meta where he will lie about alignment but he never lies about a role claim. To make that work, he refuses to role claim 99% of the time, even when he is a civ.

It make sense to discard it when everything you've said or "done" so far is pointing towards the opposite. I put done in brackets because you haven't done anything. What was the point of you claiming your alignment if it weren't to give us a trustworthy player to bounce ideas off, to guide the thread and attempt to solve the game? I've played with players with truth-metas before, and they wouldn't claim their alignment unless it was become a speaker role from which other players could seek inspiration from. What have you done since claiming? Jack-shit. No-u'd Sig. Awful defense of the only baddie flip. Why did you not come back to me about Sokoth when I called you out on your post?

Or did you claim your alignment so you could coast all game?

I'm Town and if you want a Town read, earn it. The approach I adopt is printed on the only baddie lynch we have so far, so I'm not sure how it'll hand the "real bad guys" the game on a platter.

Hey, TH :bighug: You might recall G’s Mad Max game where I was Mafia and refused to confirm that I was Town - a fact seized upon by the most awesome 3J in the dying stages. I intended (from that point) to simply never make that claim again. What followed was a succession of games where I drew Mafia roles so everyone assumed (I think) that no claim from me = confirmed Mafia alignment. If I was smart, I probably would’ve adopted the same approach here this game only I hardly ever play here now and this is my first game back in a very long time - probably will be my last for an equally long time too but I figured why not claim this game? I am Town so it seemed a good idea and having done so makes me (at least) feel more comfortable about the game.

So to answer your question, yes, I HATE being Mafia. My play as Mafia is largely miserable and a lot of ‘deer in the headlights moments’. But that is not here. I have a great Captain and great teamies and I’m Town. How could I not be happy at that?
