I agree somewhat, and Mac FEELS sincere ... but am I the only one who thinks it’s weird he’s assigning you and MP townreads? I mean, he addresses this in the post even so maybe I’m tinfoiling, but I’m used to a no gods, no masters ethos from Mac, whereas that’s just ... unusual reluctance to poke the bear. Mixing metaphors is cool and fun.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 8:32 pm I think Mac's reads are a good look primarily because they are very similar to my own (in a way he could not have manipulated intentionally). Oh. Well that takes less work.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 9:43 amNo, I mean this game -- your brief attack and retreat against me.
I don’t really know what else there is to explain though? I laid it all out there. I hated your post because it felt not like something you would say as town at all and totally vague and opportunistic. Then I actually sat there and thought about it as I continued to engage you on it and I can already start realizing “oh...” and then by the time you responded the content of your response obliterated any initial harsh reaction I had to the post.
I still don’t particularly like the post but I was then able to easily see the universe in which you made it as town so I dropped it.
Then your second post really sealed that possible universe for me and I wanted to emphasize that.

Re: DFS Mafia [Day 1]
I’m sorry for not giving it to you more expressly.
I’m trying to figure Mac out. I initially really liked his reads list and just him in general yesterday, but now I’m starting to wonder... it seems pretty consensusy. And he isn’t really trying to solve me at all which is really just strange regardless of alignment?
So reading some of your points like the convolution of he Russ read and just seeing that maybe he’s being too consensusy is making me wonder more about him.
Regardless of that I felt that your most recent post when you came in and picked apart the rainbow list was classic town sprityo. I don’t know that you would have been come back into the thread and done that as scum. And the fact that you keep saying you have to go and sticking around bodes well.

Goodie two-shoes: Jay, MP, Russ
Unsure, have points in both: Mac, Luna (tone-read), RobotNerd (tone-read)
Null: TH, Kyle, Marmot, Tsaiah and I guess DH. My only experience was in FWWM where DH was much less combative (literally building a coalition on D1 to try to solve/win) but that appears to not be the norm.
Could be bad: abyssum, Alien, Sprit

Why do people still think sprityo is bad? Maybe I'm an idiot and giving him towncred too easily. Probably am. But still.
I really need to see more from him either way but I can lately much more easily envision a universe where he's a frustrated townie.

It's stuff that just happened this morning really, so it should be on the past page or so.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 10:36 amCan you requote the points you’ve made/posts you saw to give him towncred? For me, in a world where Mac mostly appears genuine, Sprit doesn’t or can’t.
I just started to wonder when he came in here all frustrated, but I wasn't willing to earn him townie points for that. Just threw my hands up in the air.
But then he stuck around and picked at Mac's rainbow list this morning. You'll find it very recently. I thought that seemed like town sprityo -- specifically assuming he just pulled up Mac's rainbow list and started critically evaluating it in real time -- I don't know that he could or would do that as scum.
Minor points too for him keep saying "I need to go" and then posting with me.
I've seen scum sprityo get frustrated and just leave the thread for hours at a time. I think the fact that he stuck around a bit longer and wanted to engage me on what he is seeing in Mac re: wrong/right is a good sign.
I also like that he told me bluntly "I need positive reinforcement". maybe I'm a sucker but that read super genuine to me.

I think my giant catchup posts are proving detrimental to actually catching up so I'm gonna not do that and instead skim the last several pages and hopefully eventually get back to the beginning of the thread and have time to iso colin and mac. I haven't read anything since daystart and I should fix that immediately.
Re: DFS Mafia [Day 0]
point 1: i don't agree. mafia will do plenty of things that look suspicious, because they're mafia. essentially what you're saying here is that you and Lunalee are both viewing an action as suspicious, but you're genuine because you think it wouldn't come from mafia and Lunalee is not genuine because she thinks it could potentially be from mafia. i don't think it's like going after really obvious low-hanging fruit either.Infected_alien8_ wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 1:25 amI think what Turnip head is doing, if he's Mafia, would so obviously make him appear suspicious that I doubt he'd do that on purpose as Mafia, and Luna was implying he was. She can view it as legitimate, I just don't think I buy it, because it feels like a really easy read to make that 9 times out of 10 would not actually be suspicious. It's like going after somebody that seems really obviously low-hanging fruit just because what they're doing is sort of 'scummy' but it's clear they're just new or in their Town meta. Not that that's what's happening here but that's sort of the type of thing I mean.Spoiler: show
It doesn't read genuine because it's wrong and I don't understand how they can come to that conclusion if they've been reading my posts because I feel like I've been pretty clear about my opinions and not commenting at all.
point 2: will wait for Lunalee to comment before i respond to that.
what i'm getting from you rn is that, because you disagree with Lunalee's conclusions (TH could potentially be mafia, alien is in commentary mode), Lunalee is not genuine--her thought process is fake and couldn't come from town.
i can understand more selfish reads. what i don't get the one on the situation with TH. how strong is your townread on Turnip Head, would you say?
Re: DFS Mafia [Day 1]
is this off feeling something that came about when i started questioning you about Lunalee/TH?Infected_alien8_ wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 2:19 am Okay I'm caught up now.
How do I vote?
I'm satisfied with russ' answer about what he meant with the revenge lynch, that makes sense to me now
M Plus 7 said to me that his meta is that as Mafia he struggles to make authentic dogpees and I'm convinced that's what I just saw
Aby seems off to me and I'm not sure why, and I don't understand where the town-reads are coming from for her
Luna hasn't posted since so my read on her is the same
Sort of confused as to what to think about GH so I want to wait for him to actually read the thread before making a judgement, the most compelling thing I can remember is the point I think Jay made about him going for the weakest point in his ISO
Everyone else I don't have anything to say about in my memory
How do I vote by the way?
i know you mean DH but lol

Q: the idea behind pointing out the challenge post from DH to MP7 was just to rule out them being mafia together, right? that's what i'm getting out of it
actual response: it's weird that DH is responding to specific parts of the thread (like MP7's promise of a rainbow list), but then attempting to appear disengaged from the thread as a whole. i can understand only wanting to respond to certain things (e.g., whatever is happening on the most recent page), but he seems to be making a point to tell everybody that he's not around and not involved. it reads a bit self-conscious and like he needs to post something. counterpoint is that it's D0 and he could actually just not care that much, but that'll probably make itself evident one way or the other by the time D1 actually rolls around.
Q again: i don't really see how DH's "i haven't read anything" post is an AtE attempt. who is he trying to appeal to here, exactly? you're saying "in this community," but if if it doesn't apply to somebody who is actually currently in the game, i won't put much/any stock into it.
Jay knows its not an appeal to emotion. He knows that words mean things. He just said a fun mafia buzzword to make his dumb pile of shit smell less like shit.
Anyway back to reading.

I’m not sure whether you genuinely think Mac is bad or if you’re just dialing up heat on him because he’s pressing you.sprityo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 9:45 am"not butting head" colin are we reading the same thread?M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 9:44 amAny other names come to mind with this description?ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 9:37 am One game thing I will say: I can all bit guarantee there is a mafioso, maybe more than one, who is just dipping their toes in and not butting heads. If I had to pick it’d be Sprit.

RE: [mention]RobotNerd277[/mention] about my "one negative read."
I haven't sufficiently looked into anyone to make a read other than mac. im not gonna go placing a vote where im not able to defend myself.

Re: DFS Mafia [Day 1]
Seriously HOLY FUCK
What happens is like it’s SLOW ASS internet either way but okay that I can handle it’s not that bad
I’ll be like doing work on my laptop for 10 minutes then try to refresh the browser or go to a new page or whatever then
Loading loading loading
*waits for like 5 minutes until it finally loads*
I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting to the internet plenty, I’ve tried restarting my computer, you name it
Works just fine on my phone for some reason
If anyone has any suggestions
And this is partly why I’ve been *here* so much yesterday and this morning because while I’m waiting I LOG ON HERE
