Sure you are. Consider for a moment that the discussion between nutella and Matahari was still directly related to what I did on Day 0. That's the whole point.
What did you learn about those two in their dialogue?

In a vacuum I agree with this assertion. The last few years though have seen enough people cleared for their frustration that many mafia members have adapted and portrayed similar frustration to earn that credit. It's something that I think should be assessed case-by-case and with respect to the [perceived] personality of the player in question.Mongoose wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 2:03 pm For the good of the group: don’t you think such unbridled frustration tends to read/skew more civ? When someone believes something about you that is so patently untrue, the frustration becomes palpable.
Apologies for the leading question, but I really want to know the veracity of my (foregone?) conclusion.

Jay out here saying none of us could have accomplished anything without the menJaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 12:54 pmThis thread is where it is right now because of my stupid poo flinging. You could trace back much of the game-relevant content right now to the soul reads provided by either Mac or myself.nutella wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 2:32 am I got a more fake vibe from it than I have gotten from civ jay poo-flinging in other games though. Like it was more forced than usual and I feel like he usually tries to generate more varied/interesting content at the beginning of d1 than just "Z bad, Y bad, X good" for several posts.
You're welcome.![]()
Women are perfectly capable of hurling out reads too. Y'all ain't do dat tho.
I suspect Lunalee but I would feel bad lynching her first again.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:00 pm I suspect indiglo but I don't wanna lynch her in her first game back in a long time.![]()
It worked for me in the forum search... maybe because I did it on mobile.
Do you suspect rey for this? Do you suspect either Mac or myself? What is this?Lunalee wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 11:58 amHi Rey. It's okay, you don't have to like me. I have plenty of friends.reywaS wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 8:41 am Nutella didn't say No U and I know she knows the saying SMH

Careful trusting Mac and Jay just because they agree with your reads. That's actually a terrible reason to trust someone.
It should have had a comma. I was responding to Jay. Thus I was saying: “I can’t, Jay.”Owner of a Lonely Heart wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 11:43 pmCan you explain what Jay does that you can't do?Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 6:39 pm I can't Jay. I'm always wrong about Nutella. Always. I've given up on ever reading her.
Also, self-fulfilling prophecy, if you don't try, how will you get better?
I'm reading between the lines here. I think you're saying that what Jay does is a good thing.
The problem with this is that baddies can get frustrated just as easily as civs. In Ancient Greece I think, Dunya came in super aggravated with how MP was behaving towards other players and it read so frustrated and sincere to me that I was convinced that she was civ. She wasn’t civ.Mongoose wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 2:03 pm For the good of the group: don’t you think such unbridled frustration tends to read/skew more civ? I actually disagree with all of rey's opinions so far, but from the tone of his posts, I want to town read him. And yes, I do suspect you Jay. lol, do you ever not suspect me? My day 0 posts were an attempt at role playing a pompous jerk-bag. I think everyone was just confused instead.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 2:57 pmI suspect Lunalee but I would feel bad lynching her first again.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:00 pm I suspect indiglo but I don't wanna lynch her in her first game back in a long time.![]()

I'd be pleased to see what you'd prepard even if you believe it to be outdated.Matahari wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:40 pm I made a list of impressions, well, I started one, when I realized that I was judging by standards from five or more years ago. Mafia tactics and individual playing styles change so I’m really out of the loop here.
These are the things I used to consider in the early days of a game:
Old standards- aggression, creating confusion, hiding
Older standards- creating questionable suspicion on someone, and having a teammate eventually second it, subtly defending an accused teammate and have another mate deflect by throwing attention elsewhere.
None of this is going to help me have a certainty about someone’s innocence or guilt. I may wind up looking at players I think are hiding, like, in plain sight. (Hiding doesn’t necessarily mean absent or being quiet)
I don't like your empty day 0 reads. They seem baseless, and just throw suspicion on random people. Why?
Hey Indi. I guess I’m old school since I’ve been playing since 2013 and I’ve hosted several games (and cohosted a few with BFF and fellow Animal Sanctuary Squad member thellama73), but it’s been a few years since I’ve played anything more than a burglary.
I like the imagery of Nutella as a mafia truffle dog.Lunalee wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:46 pmI don't like your empty day 0 reads. They seem baseless, and just throw suspicion on random people. Why?
I've come to accept that nutella is a a hound at sniffing out scum. Also, her back-and-forth with you leaves her looking a bit better than you in my opinion.
I might understand throwing out reads like you did on day 0 to get people talking. But you actually stuck with them into day 1. You say you suspect Indiglo and myself, then later on day 1, you still suspect us but "feel bad" lynching either of us. Day 1 is a time to build a case on those suspects if you were serious about them, or drop them if you weren't. Instead you're trying to look like you're staying "consistent," but you still just have no real reason for the suspicions.
The thing I like least about what has happened so far is Rey's reason for voting nutella (because she didn't say NO U when he thought she should have) so I'm intrigued by your comment that you don't agree with all of his opinions but you are town reading him on tone. What is it about his tone that reads town in your opinion ?Lunalee wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:32 pmI actually disagree with all of rey's opinions so far, but from the tone of his posts, I want to town read him. JJJ Mac - joking too much, throwing out accusations that can’t be taken seriously (why? Looking to make people talk?)JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 3:43 pm

Ok, interesting. So you certainly wouldn't be considered a mafia noob. Currently you are my biggest ping.
Owner of a Lonely Heart is one of the players in the game. We call her Owner for short.
Mata, if it makes you feel any better I don't feel like I know what I'm doing at this point either. I think it will get easier as we see more out of everyone.Matahari wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 4:15 pmJJJ Mac - joking too much, throwing out accusations that can’t be taken seriously (why? Rey - joking. He’s present, so must be town. (He used to not participate much if he was bad)
Nutella - caught off guard, became defensive. Also subtly defended/aligned with Luna at least twice. Looked for an out by jumping on something else quickly leading to a vote for me. ??
Mongoose Juliet’s indiglo ???
Luna Owner here but not here???
I really don’t know what I’m doing anymore, but I am wondering amost about Nutella and Luna. That’s all I have so far.
I see rey's posts as a raw, honest stream of thought. His posts are short and no-nonsense, and appear genuine. Ok thanks Luna. I do see what you mean about his posts seeming raw and honest - except for his reason for voting nutella. That didn't feel honest to me, it felt made up. Maybe he was just kidding around, which he does a lot when he plays, and I didn't get the joke.Lunalee wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 4:28 pmI see rey's posts as a raw, honest stream of thought.
