Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia [DAY 0]
she has made a total of 3 posts in between a lot of us already talking about other players as we always do. 3 of those posts had nothing to do with the game content. one was a typical juliets checkin, the second was comforting mongoose's playstyle in the same way i did (and a direct mention to how dunya/sloonei were making reads), and the last is to tell us about her schedule. she was online yesterday and today and that is all she managed to offer. i feel like this is in direct contrast with her usual day 0 conduct where she digs in and asks people for elaborations or some such. and her post to mongoose makes it clear she was up to speed with the game progress...and i know juliets, she reads every post in the game she's in.
at least i don't feel jules/mongoose would be w/w based on her second post directed towards mongoose.
with all that said, i'd sooner lynch myself day 1 than lynch juliets. so let's find her teammate!

anything, juliets will always find something to dig into. "why are you town reading sloonei dunya? i must have missed it" "is there any other reasons why you think mongoose is bad?" "sloonei can you tell me why you think dunya is bad?" you get the idea.

Mac's. I don't buy what he's selling, and it reads more like him trying to throw a hot take out there and emulate supatown mac rather than being genuinely pinged. I'm on my phone but something about Lunalee giving me town cred cos my town is shining so bright males me uneasy and her rationale about how I pointed out the juliets stuff also feels weak. If I was bad, I would do the same thing and look for the same inconsistencies tbh.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia [DAY 0]
I'm not sure what there is to dig in on. The people who normally throw out names for no reason early on in the game are doing so. I've given up asking Mac for reasons when he does this early game. Also, it's Day 0 - in my mind the game hasn't even started yet. I was online yesterday but I was mostly in discord and I was only online this morning for a very brief time before I went to work. Anyway, now that I'm home I'll look back and see if there's anything making me suspicious or convincing me this early that someone is town. Also, I am civ.dunya wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 9:46 amshe has made a total of 3 posts in between a lot of us already talking about other players as we always do.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia [DAY 0]
In all the most recent games I've played with Mac he has thrown out names from the beginning that he says are bad or sometimes good. Why does this particular instance look like he's "emulating supatown" instead of being supatown. I just don't see the difference in this game and the others.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 12:18 pmMac's. Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia [DAY 0]
I've assigned a letter grade to everyone's early entries into the game. Below you will find our group report card:
ColinIsCool: D
dunya: A
juliets: D
Lunalee: A
M Plus 7: C-
Macdougall: F
I'm hardly exaggerating when I say Mac has done this in every game we've played together dating back to Ancient Greece (the one time he was right). Macdougall could have made this post in his sleep for all I care. It tells me nothing, and that he dropped it in the thread with nothing else is weak. Macdougall is a jerk turkey in class.
Mongoose: C
novaselinenever: A
speedchuck: D-
It's Day 0.
ColinIsCool: D
Blank roleplay, with only a faint acknowledgement of actual gameplay here where he gives a blanket and un-definitive statement on juliets. Colin could contribute more in class.
dunya: A
dunya wasted no time throwing reads around. While it's true that this is typical of dunya regardless of her alignment, I still regard it as a positive that this is happening so early. A player like dunya becomes easier to read as games and reads progress, but I have no qualms about placing a town read on her this Day 0. dunya is a pleasure to have in class.
juliets: D
juliets has not begun to participate yet. She offered some words of encouragement to Mongoose, a kind gesture which is bizarrely out of place at Paddy's Pub. If she'd say more things, there'd be more to talk about. Like dunya before me, I am concerned by the fact that there is not more in this case. juliets could do more work for the class.
Lunalee: A
Luna also wastes no time getting into the business of generating reads. This is her very first post and she already has something substantive to say (granted, she arrived later than most so it was easier for to have something to say). She also expressed intent to adopt a new strategy this game. I feel like this sentiment suggests sincerity in luna, as she's still a relatively new player, but has played enough games by now to have confidence in what does or does not work. That she's consciously seeking to evolve her strategy here is a good look, I think.
M Plus 7: C-
This is it. It's been a while since MP was able to play a game with us at all, so his excitement is believable regardless of alignment. His recent absence also provides a built-in reason for his lack of participation thus far. It is still Day 0, I believe fully that MP simply has not had a chance to check back in. This is neither a good look nor a bad one. MP's attendance is an issue.
Macdougall: F
MacDougall wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 2:59 amThis is a mafiaSloonei wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 8:11 pmI assume that if I give any reads you’ll all just tell me that I look like some sort of bird, or that I have nothing to contribute, and that I should just give up trying.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 8:08 pmWhat about yours?

Mongoose: C
Mongoose's entry made early waves, and it's not difficult to see why. This entry post definitely stands out for being different in tone, but I don't know if the reasons behind that difference need to be suggestive of badness. I understand that Mongoose was just lynched on Day 1 of her first game back at the Syndicate in a long time. This post, and her response to the criticism against it, all seem like a player who is perhaps frustrated and trying to adjust to the changed environment. I believe her when she says she is "calibrating her playstyle to more suit this new world of mafia"; whether or not that means she's town, I do not know. I give her the benefit of doubt for now. Mongoose could contribute more in class.
novaselinenever: A
I already highlighted why I liked this post here. In addition, nova has been very willing to offer reads early on. nova is a pleasure to have in class.
speedchuck: D-
This barely constitutes activity. speedchuck has said zero things about this game. His case is closer to juliets than MP: I am concerned that there is not more than this. speedchuck could contribute more in class.speedchuck wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 4:05 pmSo, actually, you don't have to be familiar with the show. I'm not. I'm not at all. I'm just... I watched some videos on Youtube, okay?

So [mention]Sloonei[/mention], I'm not sure I understand some things in your post. You give MP credit for not having been here yet give me no credit for not having been here since early this morning. I saw some things worth commenting on this afternoon and so I did. So he gets a C for one post and I get a D?
I agree with you on some others. Colin for example speed and Mongoose. Mac I don't give an F at this point because I haven't seen him do anything that he doesn't do when he's civ. dunya I'm not sure about, you make the point she throws out reads whether she is good or bad so I really can't tell yet.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia [DAY 0]
I don't give MP credit for his absence, I just don't discredit him either. He hasn't played in forever because he's been too busy. That he's only made one post on Day 0 does not alarm me. Like dunya said, you were in the thread for an extended period of relative activity, but you did not jump in at the time.juliets wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 5:24 pm So Sloonei, I'm not sure I understand some things in your post. I was mostly being cheeky with Mac's F because he went after me. But you've defended him twice now because you "haven't seem him do anything that he doesn't do as civ." Do you read him as civ here, then?

It's four words! Sheesh. Get in the bin.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 12:18 pmMac's. I don't buy what he's selling, and it reads more like him trying to throw a hot take out there and emulate supatown mac rather than being genuinely pinged. It's his only post, and it's the only thing he commented on even though there were stuff before itLunalee wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 12:13 pmWhat about it?
