Probably not when I did in this game. Once I’d seen a few flips and could get a better sense of the setup I might.

As a mafioso, I am not eager to tell everyone that I am a curser. And I don’t.

As a civilian, I am not eager to tell everyone that I am a curser. But I do it anyway, because I think it’s for the best to get it out there early instead of late.

It’s the same mindset that drove my miller claim in the other example I showed you before.

what if epi somehow expressed that alignments wouldn't be revealed from roles to you and your team? considering jack had a fake role, it could have been a topic that was broached. what then?

i actually forgot when you role claimed. it was before juliets but on day 1 and not day 0 iirc. i have to check. this is kind of an important thing to me.

I claimed on Day 1. I was the first person to claim anything.

I've decided to claim my role, or at least part of it. I don't want it causing problems later in the game, because it's not one that has typical civilian utility. It can be helpful in a very specific way, but only with some luck as I see it.

My ability amounts to giving someone else a posting restriction of a nature that I will not share. It's not quite insanification if handled effectively.

As for your what if -- well, I don't know what if. What if Santa Claus is a sentient Fig Newton? If I am on that mafia team in that situation, I still feel no urgency to claim. I mean, why? What's the point of that?

I did it because I'm a civilian. Just like I claimed miller. I keep referencing that example because it's the exact same concept. Imagine if I had not claimed, was here today under at least some of the same heat, and then was like "oh by the way I'm the one who's been cursing people all game long". I foresaw that eventuality and wanted to prevent it. It'd become a big hot mess and infect the thread with a bunch of errant suspicion on me.

It was similar to speedchuck's way. I didn't quite anticipate people would be willing to publicly broadcast their roles via the literal words associated with their abilities. I did think it would provide insight about what song they are, which at the time I figured might help me to piece together something about what they can do. Like I said then -- it had to be a lucky snag. I could have gotten somewhere with Doctor Wu for example, though it would have ended up at the wrong alignment.

I don't give a third of a shit about what I could do as a mafioso. These discussions are a waste of time. I could do any damned thing as a mafioso. I am telling what I think I would do. If you won't acknowledge those answers, then I don't know what to tell you.

Because that's a minor argument in my opinion. There are numerous other things about DDL that I don't care for. I also acknowledged earlier today that his poll choices can be questioned given the flips of niju and leetic.

I haven't read most of the discussion but I probably agree with Eloh's point about EoDs.

Maybe doing most of the gameplay in the last hour is an effective way at catching mafia. It still makes the game less fun.

I'm saying as someone who considered quitting mafia in this site after the last game because I'm now having college classes during the time most EoDs happen. Which, based on Syndicate meta, would make me unable to play anymore.

Very early in game, I thought I saw a subtle connection between DDL and Nova. Not indicating good or bad, just kind of having civil conversation, in and around lots of Jay posts. I thought it might develop into something indicating something, but it stopped after the thread got so busy. I also thought I saw a connection between Juliet’s and Jay, a bit later, but I didn’t see the connection with Jack that someone else brought up. Anyway, early stuff got dropped with more recent stuff.

Elohcin leaning bad, I don’t think her posts felt genuine, but her reaction to the lynch was more important. I remember in Gossip Girl, I wasn’t really crazy about the way the lynches were handled, but I came around to appreciating it. Elohcin played that game but she didn’t get upset at all over the last minute vote switching. Her reaction today felt personal.

I've seen Eloh complain on discord how she hates the way current mafia is played.

Her reaction here is consistent with that.

Not saying she couldn't fake it, but it's feasible for a civ Eloh to do.

I think LC and niju would be easy targets for mafia. Honestly, I think they are civs who just aren't paying attention to a damn thing. They are the kind of civs this game that keep civs from winning.

I think they would be here and paying more attention if they were bad. Niju would be making at least one meaningful post. She would be trying instead of forgetting. I have been in her shoes - civ, busy, and forgetting I am even playing mafia. I have never forgotten I am playing when I am mafia. LC is one of the syndicate's original hard core players. Maybe things have changed for him, but I don't think he would sign up to play and be this lazy if he were bad.

i know jay is hard to lynch, i never thought it would be easy or even thought i'd be capable of doing it alone without someone else pushing hard. can i attribute townie motives to some of his concerning actions? ....yeah. there are some questions i don't really have an answer to when i consider him. do i want to give him a free pass based on all of that? no.
