ok if i'm gonna start posting from the point I'm caught up at, these were my ~vibes~

anyway Eva is town. and not JUST because her savagery in response to Drago's flirting attempts was the most beautiful effortless thing she's ever done. (more because of her responses to iaafr and 112). Her read that Drago continuing that flirting so long was trying to force conversation, thus scummy, was not one that would've occurred to me, but ig she could be right there.

I do not understand where iaafr's "always town" read of 112 started or came from or what the vibe is that he likes, even though he has since made posts explaining it. i like other posts of iaafr and his overall tone, but that whole read is so ???? to me.

lol at Mac saying he's policy never-lynching me and then immediately asking other people to build a case on me :P that and some overly defensive early posts / questioning things I thought were obvious had me side-eyeing him. but i liked his later posts. will see how he engages with Eva.

I do vibe with IAAFR saying that there's too much "hey i like this guy" and "this guy can be town" going on. from loose recollection Hyena and Epi felt like offenders there. Hyena maybe felt less sincere? this is loose memory.

I don't usually adhere to this manner of writing, however, I committed to it when I signed up for this game, which you might be able to verify by looking at the sign-up thread and my posts there; but since I do not understand what exactly constitutes the quality which you are looking for, I'm not certain whether you'll find it in those posts. I can reassure you that if you scumread me off my writing style, you'd be wrong, but obviously you're unlikely to trust my self-assessment.

I'm still wondering how you thought that a line of questioning that amounts to "do you always post like this, or only when you are scum" was going to work out, and how well you can pull off a "smarmy and annoying" response, so, please, attempt an answer if your fancy strikes you!

It was not intended to be a defining point of my read on you. It ballooned into something much bigger than it should have been. But I'm not opposed to asking players I'm unfamiliar with to self-assess game (or, in this instance, style of writing) as a means of gaining insight into how they play. Weirder things than self-reflection have led to reads in the past.

Yeah. We had safeclaims in Mass Effect, the last join venture Jay hosted, which also allowed flavor claiming.

The scumteams each followed a theme but the overall role assignment was random.

Iirc, roles were themey, not randomized.

I read the setup as like “cop” doesn’t necessarily apply to a town character who is good at catching baddies. A random town character is the cop.

Not like mashes where half the scumteam is good guys and half is bad guys cause the flavor is randomized.

Nah, I get what you're going for with the question, I know you've explained it before. I just don't agree with it.


And with Mac, once I control for a lot of the forced happiness as a thing from actually being the one to recruit a lot of people (frankly it's either that or a hint at his character claim and it has been confirmed characters are randomized so ultimately it's just a distracting NAI), I get a null+ read.

Since he does have some small pingy posts such as when Dragomir does his #750 TMI post and Mac recently posted basically a remash of the post in #974 (this being t/w has some decent equity off this), but for the most part I see some defensiveness which is NAI considering his generally abrasive nature. Plus some attempts at scum hunting and questioning that are heavily laden with snark and sarcasm that seem to have some genuine thought behind them when examined closely.

strongest v's after reading are nutella, epignosis, and evenstar.

sprityo, jack, elephant, iaafr, and creature are all probably v's. some of those don't feel great but that's how i felt while reading.

nanook and master radishes are the trailing edge of my town circle. dragomir is sorta towny too but i didn't really get that one quickly at all.

the townreads on michelle make absolutely no sense to me. they group of people townreading her might contain wolves purely because i think michelle hasn't really projected town or shown me massive differences to the limited amount of wolfgames i read from her.

juliets' posts just feel incredibly stiff to me. i don't know how to explain it, it just doesn't feel like any of the questions and observations she's making are real.

pawn's impact on the game feels super underwhelming at the moment.
