You mean we should focus only on the players inside our own group?MacDougall wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:05 pm Welcome to The Great Team Building Exercise of Inception Mafia
So firstly I'm not gonna force anyone to do this but it sounds like a fun idea so I'm gonna do it and if you like the idea then do it as well.
So, I just put the playerlist through random.org. I have created five random groups of six players. Your goal is to communicate only with the players inside of your group for ONE hour. Given where we're at with timezones I think coordinating it across all the players is probably impossible so make that hour whichever hour that you want. Hell if you want to just spend the rest of the day focused on these five players that's fine. Hell even if you just want to give them a cursory look to have some players to hone in on making reads on you can do that too. Basically it's just going to force people to look directly at a smaller set of players. This should help you read these people, perhaps find some townies to work with, hell maybe you'll make some friends even I don't fucking know.
Here are the lists;
Group 1 -
@Benson
@TonyStarkPrime
@Dragomir
@Quin
@Rej
@Lady LambdaDelta
Group 2 -
@MacDougall
@iaafr

I’m probably not gonna do that tbh I’d have to spend an hour straight in thread and that seems unlikely to happen rn. Just gonna stick to semi-random pop ins and pings.

Epignosis that's fine, I do admit that I can't be sure he doesn't play similarly as scum, but I think other people who have seen him as scum also believe he's town here, plus I just get a really strong gut feeling that his loose and goofy tone is genuine and he's not hiding anything. he doesn't seem to care much what people think and that's a good sign.

“They” is commonly used as a pronoun for a person of uncertain gender (or sometimes as a chosen pronoun, such as in the case of 112). It is or should be obvious from context that “they” referred to Nutella in this case, as I was being asked a direct question about them.Epignosis wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:22 pm"They" is a plural pronoun. So first thing I'd like to try is to get all your reads and put them in a spreadsheet and compare them with each other and with my own reads to see if there are any patterns/common grounds there, to see if anyone has a starkly different opinion etc. It's totally fine if you are null on a lot of people. For those who have struggled with the mention feature popping up on them randomly: this is caused by previous mentions within a post you are quoting. The easiest way to eliminate this effect is to remove the "@" symbol from the quoted content.

It wasn't obnoxious. I did not know your meaning. Hence what you said was not obvious. You adding "obviously" and a question mark was obnoxious. You could have politely answered my question instead of assuming certain motivations about my asking for clarification.NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:32 pmIt’s obnoxious, doubt it’s AI.Epignosis wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:31 pmAm I pulling semantics bullshit?NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:30 pmIt was if you’re not busy nitpicking and pulling semantics bullshit.Epignosis wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:29 pmThat it's commonly used as such doesn't mean I understood your meaning. It is or should be obvious from context that “they” referred to Nutella in this case, as I was being asked a direct question about them.
I am no longer interested in this conversation, use your context clues.
If I am, then what is my motive?
Still, thank you for your answer anyway. I understand.

It's a work-related joke meant to amuse myself given what I go through.

I didn’t assume motivations—finding you annoying is not the same as thinking you’re being intentionally annoying.Epignosis wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:36 pmIt wasn't obnoxious. And yes, it was obnoxious to me. I don’t care if anyone else found it obnoxious or not.

I don't regard it as an insult. I'm certainly not one, but I'm not a descriptivist either.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:33 pmooh someone doesn’t like being called a prescriptivistEpignosis wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:31 pm[VOTE: TonyStarkPrime] aubergineTonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:29 pm Alright grammar prescriptivists, the meaning wasn’t clear, it’s now been clarified, let’s move on

Eh, poor phrasing. Finding your semantics-humping annoying would be better, I don’t know you well enough to have an opinion either way.

Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 1]
Group 1 has like one name at most I'd consider town rn
Group 2 has at least 2, maybe 3
Group 3 I'd say more or less 1.5 to 2?
Group 4 I have two townreads and probably other townleans
Group 5 is worrysome, I'd say one, no 2
Actually going with 1 > 3 > 5 > 2 > 4
though, I'm just counting townreads
Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 1]
I wasn't trying to argue semantics though. I like arguing semantics. For once I was not doing that. I was trying to determine the subject of your post. It was unclear to me.NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:38 pm Eh, poor phrasing. So first thing I'd like to try is to get all your reads and put them in a spreadsheet and compare them with each other and with my own reads to see if there are any patterns/common grounds there, to see if anyone has a starkly different opinion etc. It's totally fine if you are null on a lot of people. When I put mine together I realised that I am too. It will be good to see who is flying through all of our radars too.
