What do you think you put so much effort into before this post ? Most of your posts (before this post) are saying why your vote is on nova and how he's always lynching you and therefore eliminating him early is beneficial for you. I'd say you had a jolly time, not really inferring anything about anyone. Can you quote some of your posts before this post that required some sort of effort for you?

Hey now, let’s not go questioning people’s effort levels like that, yeah? Gets into some real unpleasant territory real fast (“I deserve X because I’ve done more work than Y!”), and unless rej has a specific effort tell, it’s not really alignment relevant. Typically attacking people on “effort” and “drive” and other similarly nebulous concepts only serves to make the thread less enjoyable and more toxic, so let’s not do that.

It wasn't meant like that, it can be a scum tell, derived from trying to look good. He's saying he wouldn't mind getting lynched, but then in the next phrase he says why he'd be mad getting lynched, for a reason that didn't really arise from his posts.

It is alignment relevant when he gives a weak reasoning for keeping himself alive while suggesting he wouldn't mind getting lynched. But he obviously does. So what was the point of saying that, if not only to look good? Well, in truth, what townie would ever say that in the first day. It just stuck out like a sore thumb to me.

Nanook, can you stop shutting my reads down, instead of poking to try and see what I really mean?

This thing wasn't even about an "effort tell", it's more about that sentence of "I would accept getting lynched". It just smelled funny.

I’m not shutting the read down as a whole, just the way the one post was phrased amounted to “you think you’re trying? WELL YOURE NOT.”

I’m not even saying don’t make a case based on effort level, just that when someone says “I’m trying” and the response is “no you aren’t,” that tends to lead to a toxic environment in my experience. So if you’re not going to take them at their word about their effort level, then it’s good imo to at least have the courtesy to illustrate how an effort level tell applies in this specific scenario. Im not even defending rej or saying your read is bad, just thay the framing should be different/better/more conducive to a healthy thread.


It’s also worth considering that effort level takes different forms for different people. My high effort looks a lot different than yours I suspect, for example.

I do empathize with difficulty explaining, I have similar issues.

To be clear I’m not shutting down your read, I’m not defending rej. I’ve just seen a lot of threads devolve quickly into toxicity through similarly worded reads. It’s not an attack on you or a defense of rej, it’s a request to clarify or reword your read.

Now stop using a reasonable request and an attempt to keep the thread healthy as an excuse to shut down.

I wasn't speaking about this game, my activity and effort never reflects alignment, it's something, some people should be aware of who played more games with me. I was more speaking in general. I generally always put more effort early on then I tell myself to fuck off despite AI.
In past games I just put massive effort (also as scum) just to convince town that I am one of them. This went as far to the point where I made massive anti cases, flamed people, criticized them, told them how to play, basically shitted on them, while still putting effort in turning stuff around. But it failed and I once even got striked on our old home forum for flaming town LMAO.

Since then I have the general impression of a mislynch D1 being sad, but just for the moment, in the end I leave every game with a good feeling of having put a work in.

What you mixed up are a general statement (me being mislynched D1) and the statement concerning novas (he is toying with me).
2 Total different cases.

Novas toyed with me till L-1 or even LyLo/MyLo and es he once ussed me D1, but I clearly said that wolf novas in endgame is absurdly dangerous, so is town novas too. What I always wanted is giving him a hard time to get easily read town with reasoning and personal experience.
I basically subbed in a dying game where novas was scum, powerwolfed and convinced whole town that he is town, novas called me over to help the game out, so I said yeah. I was town and smelled something was odd, noone questioned the legitimaticy of novas "civillian" standpoint besides me who freshly entered the game.

I never threw policy lynches or policy votes on novas, this is the first time due to very recent events.How people interpret it is up to them, I justified hopefully enough.

But question, how did you deduct those 3 names for a deadline lynch? It's not common that I get deadline lynched here (assuming you talk about D1), I once made it to LyLo, I deflected lynches on me successfully and I even made it "far" as Indie.

Oh yes I referred to the weekend, so it was some general talk suiting the current time stamp.
I am a worker during weekdays and I am always glad having some more hours free at weekend. I would be glad to invest some hours there in revisitting stuff and making clearer reads, that's when I would increase my effort level generally, I would do it as town as scum, it is NAI.
So what I said counted generally for games, but also for this one, if it is helping you to clarify.

Rej is town here I reckon. The weird theorycrafting is a staple of town rej, I like the way he's trying to articulate his thoughts completely. It feels like a journey lol, and the pushing through to put them out there feels genuine. It's original as fuck and you can kind of see his train of thoughts. Scum rej fails to replicate that feeling and he usually blabbers on then reaches conclusion that don't make any sense at all just to align himself with the flow of the thread or other people. Here he feels like his own man.

So what's our possible roles here? it's been brought up but the most glaring issue is therealet shouldve been lynched but wasnt. I think it's also a common understanding that Sleazy Martinez was the one who had to pick who would be lynched. Discounting Secrets and Indy involvement I think these three scenarios sum up our situation at hand.

-One of TSP and Creature is Bender. therealet's role does not matter.
-therealet is Network President. Bender could still be in play and is the reason why LC was lynched.
-therealet is Network President and Bender didn't use his double vote, making sleazy martinez choose between Creature, LC, therealet, or TSP.

Personally I feel the first one is the most likely option followed by the second and then third.

Note: for the third option it'd make sense for Creature or TSP to be Sleazy Martinez and the other to be Bender.
