Yes, Nanook voted for you, and he still is! :haha:
Extra ugly, due to non-call in the thread.
I want to townread LC for not noticing a vote on him.

Either that or he's wolf/wolf with Nook.
"I want to townread LC".

Then do it. Townread him. Or not.

You are being very uncharitable sir. I'll have you know my town games are nothing like this one either.

But i wanted to know what nanook thought of that
Tony and Nanook might be mafia partners. +112, that might be the scum team right there.
Dang you got us. Where’s the resign button
I wasn't very serious about the LC/Nook thing, but actually this post pings me. I feel the 'haha guess you got me' thing is such a scum thing to say here.
"I wasn't serious"

"this post actually pings me"

Then uses a superlative in the next post, to make it sound like he's sure LC is bad.

Love this thought. Another townie point for LC.

Caveat: I've read LC wrong every game I've played with him.
Caveat: I'm full of shit.

[VOTE: Master Radishes] aubergine

It's okay to be unsure about someone's alignment, but go ahead and say you are unsure. This feel like playing both sides at once.
I'm TRing LC. He's my strongest TR in fact. I thought I had made that clear.

This feels like you picked someone who had a bit of shade previously (me) and nitpicked the language used to form a case.

I don't like it.

Generally speaking, one of the harder things for me to do as scum is make up reasons to scumread the town players. I also have trouble with being on the wrong side of history in lynches. It's why I like playing scum in multi-team games better than in normal games, because I can actually hunt.

What you're doing here is not hunting or committing to anything, and that skews scum.

Nanook, I'm taking a look at your play in The Wire where you were scum and see where you made a comment about chilling in scum chat, which made me take another look at this post. Is there another game you can think of where you made the same kind of joke as town? I don't want to falsely see this as AI if it's not.
GOC
Thanks Nanook. You have seemed towny to me, you're not someone I want to vote for today. Same goes for 112, nutella, Hyena or sig.

My power has just come back on from a nasty storm this morning so I'm going to catch up and try to narrow down who to vote for.

Sometimes it will naturally come out, but it can be contained if we just remember that this is a game on a message board forum that 99.99% of the population of the Earth has never heard of before. No matter how successful anyone is, it means just about nothing.

If you are sure LC is town say that. Don't add caveats. Don't theorize about him being w/w with someone then say you are "not very serious about it". The way you did it leaves it open for you to vote LC if other people do that later.

To be fair he did the same thing in the other game I played with him. Where, admitelly, he was bad. But it seemed like he as being honest about his opinion on scumhunting.

Nanook doesn't believe in scumhunting early game. He would rather spend the first few days meme'ing and spamming the thread until some scum randomly dies, where he will then employ hard logic and wagonomics to puzzle who the remaining scum is.

I expect him to start yelling at us for not following his specific wagonomics strategy about... 3 days from now.

There is also a 50% chance he will yell at me in a few minutes for not being accurate enough in my description of his thought proccess. He tends to be touchy about that too.

Nah. His townread is still strong enough that it would look quite weird if he ended up voting LC, so I disagree. His caveats were minor handwavey waffles, which I can relate to. :noble:

Nah. His townread is still strong enough that it would look quite weird if he ended up voting LC, so I disagree. His caveats were minor handwavey waffles, which I can relate to. :noble:

There's uncertainity in reads and there is a string of 3 posts that could be interpreted as both reading LC good or bad. If you are uncertain, be clear about your uncertainity, don't use misleading language.

linki: this is about my nanook response

Okay, scumread weakened I guess.

On a NAI note, if everyone played mafia like this, scum would win 90% of games.

Dragon D. Luffy wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2020 8:17 am So I agree the speed on juliets was kind of dumb. That kind of arguments works on a generic mafia player but not on juliets since she is doing the usual juliets thing. That said speed is the kind of guy who makes crappy cases on day 1 just to produce reactions. I think the last two times I saw him doing that he was town? So yeah not super sus about him rn.

Nutella feels very town. Also liked 112's train of thought even if I'm not sure she is right, so she feels town too. Radishes defended it with a generic "I always do that" defense which is annoying but might as well be true.

Not reading anyone else tbh. I guess LC feels like a bit of nonpresence so I might vote there? Maybe.

He did say he was playing in three games at once, but he's had time to post here. Even gut reactions would be nice, but scum don't have guts.
Yeah, I noticed the lack of game relevant posts, too. I think the main thing that had kept me from joining his wagon in the last 12-24 hours was that Long Con was on the wagon. I like him more now though, and MR has been continuing to settle into town territory in my head.

I might try to start a wagon on a lurker though (Poison in this case since Nanook seems open to them), just to see what happens.
What do you think would happen, and how would that inform your reads if the subject of your vote isn't really posting?

Ah yes, the brusque lemme-tell-you-how-to-play-properly tone. A favourite of mine too.

Let me make this as clear as I can for you - I think LC is town, but I am not locking it in because, fun fact, my D1 reads have been wrong before.
I don't even agree with DDL telling someone how to play and I'm not sure that's what he was going for, but I think it's clear why someone could suspect you for making a series of two statements where the second leaves clear room for you to be wrong about the first.
