I’m only on page 13 right now, but I will say these few things.

Civs can misread people and get things wrong and look bad, but still be civs. I am.

I came in and saw I only had a few minutes to vote so I went with my gut and voted Soneji, without even knowing a Jack was on the block. But I wouldn’t have voted Jack anyway even if I knew because I incorrectly believed him to be civ. I would not have so blatantly called my teammate civ like that if I were bad. I’m not bad.

I feel pretty sure you all are going to lynch me today anyway and I will guarantee the civs will regret it. I appreciate logical analysis but I hope you all can leave room for some gut instinct too because logic alone will probably put me in the bad seat for good reasons. But logic is going to mislead you this time.

Now I’m going to continue my catch up.

Daisy does seem honest, and the case against her isn't exactly cut-and-dry. I had a look at Jiwon's ISO, and it doesn't contain a lot beyond deciding to sheep Mac, and a suspicion of tedxtr that I have to go back and investigate.

Jiwon's assessment from early game fits with how she plays the game but I do agree it's kind of lame I'm her only read.

So, apparently, this setup favours town hunting, which is better as a whole given that 75% of the time you're probably going to be right about your town leans. Thus, we should actively seek out town slots that we consider to be very obvious towns.

Why? After a ship's death, scraps will be scattered and during the night phase, the person with the most votes will receive those scraps in order to purchase and upgrade parts of their ship.

I will attempt to go for town hunting as it proved to be a solid method for myself. If I get to a scum lean on the line, I'll let it be known, but it's mostly going to be town hunting.

I feel like a town wouldn't need to announce they are townhunting if they were townhunting. Also a fun fact, tedx didn't do any townhunting even until at this point on quote.

The 'fun fact' feels a little like a forced 'gotcha'.

I don't think Jiwon's cutting it for me to be honest. I can see town focusing more on that statement than scum, I think scum think it's just pointless to even address it, it's such low hanging fruit bait.

it's hard to really pinpoint it

it's just, his heart isn't really into it, a lot of his moves seem surface level and the majority of his votes / thoughts emerge from something happening at the point where he's in thread

I know he made some analysis but I'm not feeling his votes at all, it's really hard to express it, my thoughts are usually very convoluted.

I did like his nutella and Mac trio convo right before voting Jack. He seemed very relaxed and I don't think his mafia self would waste time kidding with mac and nutella when his partner is being heavily pressured.

Things that stand out:

Lon Con. Decent number of comments but a lot are arguing about his credit for the Jackofhearts2005 lunch. The beating of a dead horse is ehhhhhhh to me. Reading it back it seems very obvious to me that he isn’t going to get people to agree with him but he keeps going. Strikes me a bit as thread derailment, but it was a night phase, so I’m not actually sure how much merit this point holds since there was no lynch voting ongoing.

JaggedJimmyJay flips between calling Sloonei suspicious last phase to ranking him town this phase with no reasoning to the switch that I’ve seen. As I’ve said, I don’t particularly like rapid flip-flops on alignment with no reasoning behind the switch, it comes across to me as throwing things out and seeing what gets picked up by others and then moving on from the rest.

After writing this comment I realise that you are the Sloonei I was referring to.

Also, what on earth is linki? I've seen it written a few times. Sorry for all the clarification questions, the new jargon has been a bit overwhelming.

But given the timing of the CFD and the fact that Daisy's soneji vote was close to last minute he might not have realized in time that the soneji wagon had more of a chance of saving him than the LC one because of how fast the votes moved (and especially if he didn't realize it was eod lol). I was just about to say. He's acting like LC fell into a trap he set. That doesn't feel like townSloonei's typical approach, he's more of a direct engagement kind of guy. Doesn't smell quite right.

I didn’t set a trap, but I’m not averse to doing that either. I did a thing and LC responded to it in a way that didn’t feel right.

Unless people can weigh in and tell me if Space usually has a hard time making reads. I remember her coming back from a hiatus, ime players are generally hyped to rand town after that, I don’t really get the...defeatist mentality here.

For one, I was put off by LC's response which seemed to express a mutual exoneration of Daisy. My vote change was in no way meant to reflect a change in my read on Daisy, but LC's response seemed as if he was latching onto my vote to push that angle. In doing so he also presents/bolsters an argument against the new player with a low-key playstyle which is, again, slightly off-putting.

I understand that I'm also voting for Jiwon at this stage, but I did so primarily as a point of emphasis for discussion. LC came in guns blazing. That's a more aggressive discussion than I was aiming for. Maybe the reason I am reading LC negatively here is that he responded to both aspects of my post (unvote daisy/vote jiwon) in ways that run contrary to my own intentions. But I can see a glint of opportunism in here. That doesn't need to imply anything specific about Daisy herself. A mafia Long Con might just want to appear proactive and not take part in the easy civilian lynch.

My mindset was to be supportive of your push to expand the suspect pool, and to add to the pressure on Jiwon. The nice things I said about Daisy were part of that - it's a better atmosphere if the baddies believe the auto-lynch isn't so automatic after all (though SD is still a top scum candidate).
