Re: Pyre Mafia [Day 0]
there's some mechanically decent stuff that stat claiming can help with, if there are any powers that can like read stats or somethingMarcher Jovian wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 1:22 pm Glory might be useful to know about because it relies on specific breakpoints so it’s good to know someone’s glory if you’re alocating hope points to them. The issue is that it might accidentally lead into people softing their roles by saying that their night action is really good or mediocre to try to influence who spends glory on them.
prescence/quickness seem less useful to know. I guess there’s utility in knowing the exact state of very close wagons, or in avoiding accidentally losing a miselim by banishing all the high-voting civilians (though claiming quickness also lets mafia target high-boting civilians for the same effect)
Hope doesn’t really seem useful to know. I guess if we decide to just claim glory and hope, knowing hope gives more information to try to deduce the rest of the stats from?
There’s also the consideration that the OP might only say the basic uses of the stats and stuff could come up later that uses them to some other end.
conclusion:
claiming p—not good
claiming q—eh
claiming g—should be considered
claiming h—eh, probably not
But yeah I don’t think stat claiming is a good idea just yet.

i never think roleclaiming is good unless you're about to be lynched (TH played the role claim correctly). i have no problem playing this game in closed mode.
further proof of this is i roleclaimed in a game the other day and 1 minute before i could use my day action, the scum day killed me. fuck role claiming man.

Re: Pyre Mafia [Day 3]
i believe that bronana believes in his suspicion of marcher. this reads super authentic and bronana has now pocketed me like ted (rip my friend)bronana wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 3:52 amshrug
maybe with turnip head dying and marcher not in a great spot, maybe they decided to go ahead and kill ted too. takes out probably the biggest voice pushing marcher, possibly enabling them to survive longer, or worst case marcher dies anyway and so killing in that triumvirate wasn't a big deal regardless. me + others mentioned the possibility of the wolf nk avoiding their own triumvirates yesterday, and it's possible that discussion directly influenced the wolves to kill someone in a triumvirate that contained a wolf, too.
maybe it's just wifom
maybe the wolves weren't even thinking about it
it certainly doesn't exonerate marcher, if that's what you were suggesting. it doesn't particularly condemn them either, i don't really read into it that much after it was directly brought up as an item of discussion d1. wolves were surely aware people were thinking about this kind of thing.
i feel like we're taking out my best buddies, first Turnip then ted. good thing sloonei's name doesn't start with an S.

Re: Pyre Mafia [Day 2]
Investigating those Turnip votes, and they're even weaker than I remembered them.
KZA's vote came relatively early and seems to have been primarily a chaos vote. Not the best. Carot seemed to have the most substantial reason of all those who ended up on TH, and I will admit that Carot's interpretation of Turnip's claim is what swayed me to TH instead of Wilgy. I have absolutely no idea why Mac or Tony chose to vote for Turnip Head. Mac had been on me because Mac is silly, and then he abandoned that and hopped on Turnip because ???. Tony never said a word about Turnip. That is blah. But does Tony do that as scum?
Long Con's vote is the one with the most meat on the bone:His strong position is that "voting for wilgy is not the greatest." In the middle of all this he expresses disapproval of the TH vote as well. But then he settles on Turnip by virtue of them not being wilgy.
I can relate to this. I was not as firmly anti-wilgy-vote as LC, but I shared the sense that I was being made to choose between two options that I didn't love. But at the same time, LC was at least mildly critical of Turnip's claim in the moment, and his progression from the time of his vote to his denouncement of the wagon (without doing much in between) kind of reads like he has one foot on board the train and one foot off of it, and that is not the best look. He pushes the skeptical angle against TH when it first comes up, parks his vote there, and then denounces the wagon with only a moment to spare.
Also of note in the same post where he complains about the TH wagon is that LC is one of several people who expressed support for the idea of voting outed wolf without actually taking any steps to make that happen.
--------------------------------------------------
Basically all of these votes are at least a little bit shady. Someone else can take up my vote to decide whether or not it qualifies.
Marcher's vote was no longer self-preservation by the time they cast it, but they cited negative feelings about TH's claim after casting their vote. They made absolutely no mention of wilgy or his wagon. These are the two most significant interactions Marcher and wilgy have had all game:Marcher repeatedly listed Wilgy as one of their 200 "null" reads. I see no evidence that Marcher was attempting to read Wilgy yesterday. It is not difficult to see their vote for Turnip as a relieved and opportunistic stab at a player other than their own partner. I hate making reads that pair players together before either of them have flipped, but the complete lack of acknowledgment from Marcher about the leading wagon for much of eod2 is striking.
Mac's vote had no substance to it, but Mac is content to fart his way though a game until he has a feel for things. I don't hate it, but I can't actually call it a good vote.
Carot's vote at least feels the most legitimate, but I ultimately have to squint my eyes at it a little bit because they were ultimately pushing an angle of paranoia against a player who turned out to be 100% truthful. Carot's vote is the least concerning of the bunch, but it is not perfect either.
Tony's vote is silent but deadly.
Long Con's vote is questionable at best
KZA's vote is questionable at best, but his also comes with the caveat that he wasn't actually around for the end of the phase, so he wasn't able to react to events in real time.
This is the most compelling evidence I have found to cast a vote for Marcher Jovian.

Long Con's vote is the one with the most meat on the bone:

These are the two most significant interactions Marcher and wilgy have had all game:

Re: Pyre Mafia [Day 2]
i'd been staring at it/swirling it around trying to understand for a decent bit there
already had a pretty solid idea of what i wanted to do with the yeet. and i was fairly satisfied with the state of the wagons at that point, or at least what i last understood it to be
just one of those things i got caught on a bit and i was like wtf

What was the state of the wagons at the time, and why were you satisfied with them?Lissa wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 7:58 pmi'd been staring at it/swirling it around trying to understand for a decent bit there
