i tr the first sentence. i feel like this pre-emptive focus on oneself usually comes from town more so than scum ime. or like at least being genuine about it. and maybe im confbiasing for the second sentence, but i wanna tr it too since its kind of a contradiction with the first sentence (towny contradiction). like first sentence is showing self-awareness that it might happen, and then in the second sentence i feel like proto more so meant that dizzy lc and tutuu SHOULDNT scumread proto for the different style, not that they wouldnt do so (which is again imo contradiction with the first sentence) and i townread these kinda stuff since it probably means its genuine and not manufactured

I actually think he's coming across pretty similar. Like, hee's Proto. If the point he's making is more so that he won't do tons of math analysis, then duh, this is obviously not the game for that. That type of self awareness is kind of not great imo

Also, it means we can speed lynch Proto when D1 starts, so that's pretty cool.

The actual reason I'm reading MP as town is just the excitement I felt when he was writing in all caps to me. It just felt genuine to me. It's been a curse that we have randed different alignments for about any game we've played, which is a horrible curse and I'm really hoping that this is the game we're both town. I don't think he's outside any range with his other posts, but I want to go with that good feeling right now.

I did. I had all 4 scum in my bottom 5 (with a null poster who later turned into Hally). That game is the biggest tragedy I've seen in a very long time. I have no words for how much I absolutely hated the "logical" NK analysis idea and the shot on me and Dunya. And the salt is real. It's still real. It's the realest. And I'm going to stop talking about it. But yeah, my D0 reads that game were practically spot on. And now I feel I need to do the same here, which there is no guarantee for. But I feel good about quite a few people here already.

I don't insist on not going by gut. I often fabricate reasons to justify a gut read.
But no, diction is 100% measurable. Some words are used more often by town than by mafia.

proto said it himself, it would be literally impossible for him to commit to the same playstyle as Space Invaders, and the main reason for why he's saying it seems to be so that he isn't scumread for having a different playstyle.
If anything, proto saying he'll have a different playstyle is slightly scummy.
Giving him a townread for it is scummy as well.

Nah, all scum proto has to do is come in here and post 5000 words theorizing about game mechanics that everyone skims over, and then collect his free towncred. Everything he's done here just reeks of purity, and the "do you think I am scum? What about if I told you X? Shouldn't you scumread me if I told you Y?" thing is a quirk I've noticed he has in his gamesolving style as town. It's also a quirk that I haven't told him I noticed, so I don't think he's intentionally replicating it to pocket me.

She gave me the impression that she was invested in understanding me to make sure she could catch me the next time I rolled scum against her. I think the Urist read on tutuu's diction makes sense. Town are more likely to think about how to get into someone's head, and the excessively convoluted metaphor means that it was imagery that tutuu was focused on and/or churning around in her head for quite some time. Pretty reasonable for a page 3 read. Not seeing anything I should be concerned about there right now.

uh no, proto said he isn't able to do that this game. i feel like you might be trying to find a reason for calling proto town? it's weird, like what would you expect him to post a game mechanics essay about, the pros and cons of matrix setups?

Lots of mechanics things to talk about. Best person for cop to use night check on, whether doctor should use heals aggressively or save them for late in the game, best way to use tracker, whether a doublevote is mathematically more powerful now or in the late game, etc.

What makes you think I'm trying to find reasons to townread proto? We clearly have history with each other and proto said I pocketed him super deep in a previous game, which implies that I understand him quite well. Is it a surprise that I have my theory about what proto would or wouldn't do here as scum?
