Me and Epi came to the same conclusion earlier: the poisoner is likely Jack Napier, Nicholson's Joker. Wisp has claimed another Jack Nicholson Jack with a role that seems rather powerful and with no known downside, somewhat surprising for a character who goes crazy.

So I've been assuming all along that the downside is that he gets fake roles, something that makes intuitive sense and still has application as a town power. But there is another explanation.

His role card would be jack nicholson, probably. His role check would be designed to find the anti-poisoner. He conveniently ran out of checks as soon as he looked at yours. he hasn't checked someone who had already claimed, he wanted to be sure that other investigative roles and abilities were used on certain targets.

I've seen jay do the super townie schtick as a wolf before, in GOC this year. My suspicions are as of yet not completely alleviated, but his effort in this game is outstanding and I think most of his D2/D3 progressions seem in earnest.

My point is not that it is or is not true, it’s why would a Wolf choose that lie? It wouldn’t keep him safe all game. However, he has adjusted by saying he can choose to not obey and die as a consequence.
