I know. My natural inclination to avoid misinformation results in my own inability to do this.

If there's no actual confidence or read I often hesitate. Also doesn't help that I'm often playing from 3-5 pages behind.

I think anything advances the game as long as you know how to look for things. Seeing as people weren't doing much I figured I could give the thread a false positive and see what I can get from it.

Okay so I've said this a few times (out of game, so it's not motivated by alignment), but my general approach with "easy level 0 mafia games is":

1) Sometimes it really is too good to be true. We would have won amdibals if we'd just ruthlessly murdered everyone on the counterwagon/vanity wagon on the day scum was exed. There were all these worries that there was a deepwolf hiding and bussing 112 and there just wasn't. Everyone who looked good off the flip was legitimately town.

2) Even if it isn't too good to be true, disproving the easy world is the first step to solving the hard world. Think about games like Philosopher's Mafia or Jack Attack where the easy world was wrong. We weren't ever going to get to deep wolves like Wisp/nanook unless we first proved that the POE was free of wolves (and therefore proved the wolves were hiding in the towncore). There was just no way that it was ever realistic for Wisp/nanook to be an exe over some random POE slanker the entirety of those games, which means we need to sort the POE first before being able to get there on there being a traitor in the midst of the towncore.

tl;dr - if it looks like an easy world, act as though it is. If it's a hard world it will soon become apparent, and eliminating the easy world possibility is the first step to being able to go "okay, so it's one of those games" and settle your heels in to find the deepwolf.

I have played mafia for more than a decade and I know of literally 2 players in all of my experience and history playing mafia who will intentionally lie about their self meta as scum in order to get an advantage. Everyone else was either too honorable to do it, or felt that they would be caught too easily from someone who has experience with them calling them out, or some paranoid townie doing a meta trawl.

(The funny part is, both players are in this game.)

He looks like he doesn't really care why he's being pushed at the moment by 3 people, whereas I think town him that thinks he's LHF being pushed by wolves would explore that world more instead of just trolling.

but its too late, i am now cornered into hard bussing JPIC. my only saving grace is to make this WIFOM post and pretend im being sarcastic when i am in fact telling the truth about whats going on!

Wilgy thinks tutuu is scum, but I honestly think mafia are reading tutuu town right now both because they don't want to draw attention to themselves by going against the grain/risking the wrath of me and Mac and whoever else wishes to townshield her, and because the people I find scummiest in the game are all saying tutuu is lock town.

It was a clown fiesta game, town was in chaos, at F7 it was me, another player (let's call them X since I can't remember their username), and 5 other people. For some reason people got the silly idea that self-voting in this scenario would be a good idea, in a game where majority exe was enabled. And for some reason instead of abusing it to get a free ride to F5, scum decided they would get in on the action too and self-vote as well. So it was everyone except me and X self-voting one after another for no goddamn reason and just going completely nuts. X made this huge gigantic wall about why self-voting is bad and screamed at everyone to stop and this is crazy, and then 3 seconds after the wall of text, another player self-votes. So X breaks completely, posts a reaction gif of a guy walking out of an office window, and slanks the rest of the game. Mafia swept us after that.
