I sort of think if I was Tim in this spot and my wolf buddy got murdered D1 and then the entire wolf team was in the POE I would not believe that bussing was a winning line. I'd try to push nanook.

That said, it sort of doesn't matter regardless because it doesn't clear Tim of being the Rogue, which was the main charge levelled against them.

It's also important to note that sprityo was caught targeting Mac last night, so unless mafia have two investigation-fuckery roles (which is prima facie fairly unlikely), I would say that there is less chance of investigations being misled.

mafia role cop targeting mac makes so much sense with sprityo targeting mac to fuck up his night results. for scum to make good use of screwing with mac's night reports, they have to figure out what role he is so they can manipulate him most effectively. for instance if they role cop him as an alignment cop they might try to figure out which false red checks he has and play in a way that frames those checks so they can send him down the wrong path.
