I have a theory that Ash could be mafia. There's something about his play I just don't like, and it keeps on nagging at me. He seems a little too... agreeable, if that makes sense. His NANOOK scumread surprised me, because Ash had never pushed NANOOK prior to making that read, and he has not pushed NANOOK since then, as far as I can tell. It is not mafia indicative, but it is something I am keeping in mind.

I'm currently conflicted on tutuu. On the one hand, I think my reasons for suspecting her are solid. On the other hand, she is still continuing a very bizarre play pattern I scumread her for (and I was not the only one!), she has not changed her play whatsoever to appeal to me, nor has she done anything beyond what I've already said that came across as scummy to me. I'm starting to wonder if I'm scumreading her personality instead of her actual play.

Hally's re-entrance into the thread did not ping me either way. The fact I'm called obvious town by Hally seems... weirdly dismissive, just like the way I felt when tutuu responded to me in that one post.

I don't really understand the ted townreads. His posts have not pinged me as town whatsoever.
In general, I don't really understand how tutuu gets any of her reads, and the way she reacts to pressure has been less than stellar. The only thing that is towny about her from my perspective is how much she insists upon keeping up this bizarre play pattern.

The only people you have shown hostility toward have been the people who pushed on you and/or called you mafia, and yet you don't even have a mafia list despite the kneejerk OMGUS you've been displaying. Do you really think that everyone who's friendly with you has to be town? Because that's the impression I get from your read progression and your list of townreads in general.

it’s hard to point to specific things because it’s more a general impression but i get the sense they’re genuinely solving in a way that’s consistent with their town selves as i know them

ig to be more specific, for tutuu what i can say beyond just “vibes” is that i think her tr on me for using a spoiler in one of my posts is the kind of wacky read that scum just don’t think to fake usually but a villager will actually have thoughts like that. i thought the same about how she responded to vul’s push by saying he was doubting it to pocket her or something. it was again kinda out there and i don’t think it’s actually what vul was doing but i think it’s a towny reaction for tutuu to have because again, scum don’t often think to fake those kinds of micro reads especially under pressure

for nook, it really is more just a general vibe that he actually cares. like i kinda doubt scum!nook would write those posts about just having fun and not giving reads unless he wants to and then proceed to be highly involved and give lots of reads early on. it’s kinda like tutuus “says he’s going to bed but stays to post” read. it’s like he just can’t help himself but be here. and nothing he’s done while here has struck me as fake given what i know of him

i have a knee jerk reaction to poke fun at ppl scumreading me for what i perceive to be silly reasons (since i already knwo the asnwer to my alignment)

if it helps i dont do it only for me, i do this to ppl who suspect my strongest townreads too. i poked a little fun at ash for scumreading nanook, and often times in past games id say stuff like that to ppl who scumread my townreads

me having a playstyle that ends up with a ton of townread and no scumreads is a separate thing, it isnt rly connecetd to how im reactional. if u skim my past games u will see i always end up with only townreads and no scumreads, despite nobody pushing me

First time I’ve been accused of being too agreeable, lol.

I’m trying to avoid getting myself too dug in on any one read or any one player too early this game, when we still have half a dozen players who haven’t posted and another couple who haven’t done anything very significant.

You might not have noticed but I actually started scumreading Nanook very early. He pre-announced that he was going to be using a different play style in a way that looked like asking for permission. Like I’m playing less aggressive than I normally do, but I didn’t feel the need to warn everybody about it.

There are three main things that give me pause about tutuu being mafia.

+ Consistently playing the way she does despite all the pressure and scumreads she has been receiving.
+ The existence of some unique thoughts which looked complex and miscellaneous, and thus more likely to come from town rather than mafia.
+ The fact NANOOK claimed that "tutuu was either town or perfectly replicating her town game." Considering tutuu has allegedly not randed mafia for so long that she cannot remember her last mafia rand, this just might be the most important reason tutuu's town. It would be difficult to replicate your town game near-perfectly after such a long time of not randing scum.

The way I interpreted your post was "alright, I accept you as town, I am not going to bother solving you for the rest of the game." And it felt... cheap.

I also think NANOOK is more likely to be town, unless he is exactly w/w with tutuu. The way he cleared her felt natural. The clear was also very unlikely to come from mafia, because tutuu was not considered "clear"; there were still several players suspecting her.
