Did you read the sentence? it was 'ash and michelle'
Ignoring the fact my name is written with small letter instead capital letter, she holistically linked me with someome random.
You are linked there with Ted, fmpov
uh okay, i took that kinda normally, didn't give much thought to it.

I think Long Con's been fairly genuine, relaxed, and natural. Light townread with similar reasoning to the dunya townlean, with the caveat that since dunya is very good as mafia (apparently), I'm not going to clear her fully for a while. Same applies to Long Con if he's known to be good as mafia.

Also.

[VOTE: 112] aubergine

At this point, my mind is slowly changing on Arete. I'm starting to think they are these exact three things:

- Town.
- Wrong on me, because I'm posting in a different lingustic style in comparison to my other recent games.
- Out of their depth in this game.

Not locking this in yet, but that's what I think. I don't think MafiaRete approaches me with this level of hesitation and doubt.

DrWilgy has exactly one post and it's a nothing-post. But that's towny in a vacuum.
Probably would not kill today.

Michelle still hasn't given me anything to read her either way. I might just hop into her ISO and force myself to have a read on her.

There have been games where one of us tunneled the other, only to change their mind. This isn't unusual.
Posted the previous as a legacy in case I get misyeeted, will keep updating with more reads most likely.

Jumping into Michelle's ISO, be right back.

Okay, upon re-reading Michelle's early posts I really like them. There is something about #195 which comes across as very towny, especially the university analogy. I don't think mafia would think of that, and even if they did, I don't think they would post that so spontaneously.

#704 is something I don't believe to be a set of takes that comes from mafia.

Vote is consistent with thought progression on Ash.

I don't really see much wrong with Michelle's ISO so far. Probably somewhere in the middle town if I had to place her on my readlist.

Ted keeps making me conflicted, and if I wasn't already hardpushing 112, I'd probably devote my energy to solving him.
By the way, 112 is still mafia and I encourage you to vote there.

I'm starting to feel better about ted as I read his early posts. There is this element of genuine confidence in your town alignment which I consider somewhat difficult to fake as mafia. His disappointment/annoyance about me saying he claimed mafia when he didn't (not directly, at least) also felt towny because of how much time he spent talking about it (multiple posts!).

I feel like there's something to be said about most people scumreading Ash. Ash might be a miss for that reason.

Anyway, going back to ted, the main thing giving me pause about him is that I don't like the way he seems to be reading people. ...And after I had written this, I remembered that ted posted #848, which would explain it.

Gun to head, ted's town. But I don't think he's as towny as Michelle overall. Lower percentage of posts I found openly towny.

In hindsight, I should've allowed Arete to set this expectation instead of setting it myself, because now everybody wants to resolve us day 1 and I have a feeling it's going to end poorly (and it also decreases the chance for a mafia yeet on day 1).

It probably would be you tbh

Just for game geometry reasons atp...her SRing you but you not SRing her means if there’s a mafia between you it’s more likely you, based on your mutual god read claims.

But I probably won’t end up voting either of you

I'm giving the slightest of townlean,s because the mindset you have to be in to post once (about memes) and dip is a mindset which low-effort town are more likely to have instead of low-effort mafia. Low-effort mafia would probably at least give a read (or more than one read), and/or post more than exactly once before dipping. Or they would try to meme themselves.

sorry guys, i was feeling pretty lousy and turns out i had some food poisoning and im still a little out of it but im here

gth reads without reading the thread, but a few tone-posts from each player here we go

112 - w
Arete - t
Ash Lael - w
DrWilgy - t
Hally - w
Long Con - t
Michelle - w
NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME - t
Poison Chan - t
tedxtr - w
TonyStarkPrime - t
TripleHaven - t
tutuu - t
Vulgard - t

my poe is
112
ash
hally
michelle
ted

i wanna say my strongest town reads are nanook and longcon tbh. my weakest wolf read is ted, so i will not vote for him until day 3 at least.

the person i think most likely could swing w from my t reads is vulgard for possible tmi, but i will eventually read up (or not) see what he has to offer.

high poster hally in a vacuum should be town, but i felt like she was gaslighting us with questions and content which she doesn't really build from. like they're prods and questions which she doesn't really care about one way or the other.

don't really know much about tsp, except he didn't like one of my posts and i like that reaction. no idea if triplehaven has posted yet, i'll get there.

wilgy im giving a soul town read to.

112 is probably town for how they expressed this take + their general willingness to go against one of the most widely TR'd players as if it were self-evident

this read is definitely not a product of my own doubts about Vul
what are your doubts about vul?
when Vul is a villager, he's usually a shining beacon of towniness such that I can basically just open his posts and start scrolling them like 'this post was written by a villager, this post was written by a villager, this post was written by a villager...' and I can't really do that here

also his posts are excessively formal in a way that's not consistent with how he normally writes, which makes me think they might be fabricated and he's trying to make them sound more ?legitimate? or something. not weighting this one nearly as much as the 'his posts were not written by a villager' thing because I know English isn't his first language, and also he's an English major, which could maybe explain it
interesting. i feel like he is a shining beacon of towniness and am curious why you think he’s not. do you have more specific issues with his posts?

Tinfoil: Should 112/Ash both be town, the way dunya is handling them right now feels very mafia to me. In that world, dunya has the freedom to hop on the 112 wagon and simultaenously pocket me by doing so.

That's only if 112/Ash are v/v, though. And people will probably forget about this post later if I die.

I looked through her scum game in the last GMan game and couldn’t find any semicolons in ~100 posts

I also couldn’t find any in the animals game

Ash Lael wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 8:18 pm For those who were asking about my Hally read/progression, let me highlight a few of the things she's done that I thought were towny, starting from the beginning of the game.
Hally wrote: Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:54 pm 112 is a good wolf right? because i already got light town pings from him calling out my tone. not sure a wolf would wanna come in swinging at me right away. but if he’s as good a wolf as i think he might be this sort of read doesn’t apply
This post hit me right away. Not because it's an especially towny post in isolation, but because of the context it occurs in. Hally has come into the thread in full meme mode, and suddenly this actual game-relevant thought asserts itself and compels her to change tack. It felt like a very real and unintentional shift in mind-track that came from a town brain that got distracted by something solvable popping up unexpectedly. As if you're walking along whistling to yourself and thinking about that thing you're going to buy and oh hey there's a dollar on the sidewalk.

I never trust Ted, Hally feels nice, Nanook is as expected, 112 and Ash idk.

Little play time from me, i will keep it short
why do i feel nice?
Doesn't take the town cred and bank it, instead pushes back and interrogates, and against a player known for retaliatory scumreads.
Hally wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 12:49 am i have a scum read already

whoever can tell me who it is gets town points
This one comes about ten minutes after the last post. That passage of time felt very natural to me, as I was going through a similar process at about the same speed, going from "Ok, why?" to "Hmm, maybe that means something," to "Yeah, actually, I think that might mean something." Most of the Hally/me mindmelds have been me saying something she was thinking, which doesn't super impress me because someone can just quote you and go "Same! OMG we're so on the same wavelength!" This time she was saying something I was thinking. Assuming of course that she was actually thinking of Michelle but I think she had to be because I don't think Hally goes and throws out a question like that with no answer in mind as either alignment.
Hally wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 1:39 am michelles reaction wasn’t really what i was expecting regardless of her alignment tbh
This post is very much a "I had a mental model of this player and it was wrong and now I don't really know what to do with them" kind of post. And it matches Hally's tone and attitude over the next series of posts. Her brain was on a track, it got derailed by unexpected information. Seems like genuine surprise from someone who doesn't know how things fit, rather than someone who's coming in with an outcome they want and is trying to make them fit.

kinda regret posting the michelle read because now i feel like i forced the issue too much
Hally town cuz they put it in spoiler (is my real read)

Unless theyre the type of scum that goes to rob a house and cleans it up after robbing it as a nice gesture
idk what this means
If i was scum and doing what ur doing i wouldnt have put that post in a spoiler to make sure its more out there so ppl can see my "progression". I thought putting it in a spoiler as an extra step to show ur emotions was towny
oh

i mean your conclusion is correct but i have no idea if i would use a spoiler as scum or not
Correcting the townread rather than just banking it.
Hally wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 1:44 am think that’s a towny read for tutuu to make though. i don’t think a wolf thinks to fake a read about how me using a spoiler is towny
Subsequent reflection on what it means about tutuu feels real. Comes a natural period of time afterwards, feels like a natural timeframe for Hally's brain to move onto that subject and come to that conclusion.

yea i was probably wrong
This kind of embarrassment feels real. This is "oh I probably made a dumb read and look dumb". Wolves don't care about making dumb reads, they know their reads are wrong, they're trying to be wrong, they don't get embarassed.

And on and on it goes. Hally's whole ISO is packed with things I can point to and say why that thing feels towny. I could fill pages with this stuff.

And then I come to "But Hally good wolf". Yeah that stuff looks towny to me. But I know Hally can look towny as a wolf. Heck, I've seen her do some of these exact things as a wolf just recently. So I don't want to give her a cheap townread. I even briefly toy with the idea that maybe she's a wolf for being too towny and trying too hard before deciding that's kind of a stupid read because she's towny as hell as town too.

But she just keeps being towny and the list of reasons to think Hally is town keeps getting longer and longer and the list of reasons to think Hally is a wolf is stuck at "But Hally good wolf." I don't like null reads, I have absolutely nothing to scum read, what am I supposed to do? I have to town read this.

Can I be wrong? Of course I can be wrong. I'm wrong a lot. I'm not locking this read for all time, I'm gonna continually reassess, and if I get a reason to think Hally's a wolf I'll jump on her. But I don't have one, and I'm not going to invent one that's not there like I did in G8 reunion. So for now, my best guess of Hally's role card is she's town.
alright, this does explain your read on me well, ty

Spicy take: you should probably explain your reads, especially if they are considered controversial in the threadstate.
